  1. 2012 MK3 1.6 petrol Push button start, service history of the vehicle is unknown, no service due message on the dash Carrried out an oil and filter change today wanted to reset the service indicator but it doesn't work, does the reset only work if the message is on the dash? Followed the instructions found on the link below, but didn't work https://resetservicelight.com/reset-oil-service-light-ford-focus/ Are there any other methods to carry out an oil reset?
  2. Found this on the forscan forum, if the BMS sensor is unplugged unplug the sensor on the negative battery cable and the pcm will default to a "traditional" charging system and maintain a steady charge voltage of around 14-14.5v
  3. Just fitted the new battery, disconnected the BMS lead, didn't do the manual BMS reset procedure. Car started fine, with no warning lights, windows works fine. Just had to re tune radio and clock. If it's not a big issue I may not bother getting the usb lead and install forscan to set the correct parameters. What are the pros of cons in having the BMS configured Vs having it disconnected?
  4. Thanks, very useful. My car doesn't have stop start, what does the BMS do?, could I just be done with it and disconnect it? My current battery is totally flat, need to jump start it, so I've got the new battery which I'm looking to install asap. Given that I do not have the usb lead, would the manual reset procedure help? What is the correct manual reset procedure? I've seen so many different ones! Factory battery is: Silver calcium Ford brand 500cca 52Ah The new battery is: Varta Sealed calcium 600cca 61Ah
  5. Can I fit the new battery in the interim and remove the BMS? Until the usb lead arrives? would the manual reset procedure help?
  6. Do you know what values in forscan I need to change and where? The car does not have stop/start Factory battery is: Silver calcium Ford brand 500cca 52Ah The new battery is: Varta Sealed calcium 600cca 61Ah Can it only be done via forscan? I called my local garage who have non specific ford diagnostic machine which covers all vehicles. Could that do it? Or can it only be done by forscan?
  7. Bummer, I've done exactly that, purchased a higher capacity battery! Purchased this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D21-Car-Battery-12V-Varta-Silver-Dynamic-Sealed-Calcium-5-Yr-Warranty-Type-075-/252646084384?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 Any ideas how I can reconfigure the BCM?
  8. 2012 1.6 titanium petrol focus mk3 Does anyone have a guide they can kindly share with me to replace the car battery Thanks
  9. Thanks! Didn't notice that! I'll buy directly from Ford hopefully it's new stock
  10. Found this on eBay, German seller, genuine Ford https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Timing-Belt-Kit-Water-Pump-1-25-1-4-1-6-16V-Ford-Focus-2302744-/165513947872?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  11. 2012 1.6 titanium petrol focus mk3 72k on the clock I believe the 'recommendation' is 10 years or 100,000 miles Do these fail prematurely? Or should I get the belt replaced now including the water pump? Should anything else be replaced? Can the complete kit be purchased from Ford? Does anyone know the finis part no please
  12. I agree but from Ford it's not a couple of quid it's over £70! May take the gamble and purchase the Volvo spring at £14 I hope it's suitable Do you know of any other springs that may be suitable?
  13. The clutch still operates as it should. I may just leave it as it is and not bother replacing it. Is it a must to replace it?
  14. 2012 1.6 titanium petrol focus mk3 Noticed the clutch pedal spring is broken. Called ford who quoted £85 for a spring! No it's not made out of gold Contacted a few Ford dealers on eBay who advised part no I require is 1702376 Google search resulted in finding it on eBay for £72 for a poxy spring! Seriously! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ford-Clutch-Pedal-Retracting-Spring-1702376-/393529769103?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 Does anyone know of an alternative cheaper part?
  15. Looked at the connector and removed some of the wiring from the loom, couldn't remove much as the loom splits into other areas Nothing untoward found but noticed some of the terminals on the connector block and on the headlight terminals dirty with green residue. Cleaned as best as I could, so far the headlights are working as expected but time will tell...
