Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. mk4 fiesta rust repairs

Hi all, I have just recently embarked on my first project involving my now off the road fiesta. I have had the car fo like a year now and despite the usual endura engine problem the car has been through hell and back and still kept me safe lol. Any way it has been accumulating some rust for a while and took it off the road recently because their is no sense in paying for an mot when i know its going to fail. So i took it upon my self to stick it in the garage for now undertake most of the repairs myself with some help from friends and family. Their is probs a lot of welding and cutting involved but that doesnt bother me as im quite handy and i know heaps of decent welders too. My main concern with regards to fixing anything is the floor. i have taken out the seats, carpet etc only to find a few rusty bits underneath and a few holes. My main question is how i should go about patching the bad bits of the floor PROPERLY. For added info the rest of the interior is fine as in the main framing etc. Look forward to hearing your advice Ross
  2. Idle Speed/Air Control Valve

Hey i have had similar problems with my 1.3i endura engine, cutting out that is. i didnt have a clue where it was even looking at my haynes manual but then i found it staring right back at me up by the injectors at the top of the engine. Heres a link of what you are looking for and i would post pics of my one but i dont know how to. http://www.partsamerica.com/product_images...S/779-10243.jpg Just hope the link works fine. if not let me know and i can email pics of mines on the engine. a theory i have on this problem is getting more air into the air filter. i have a K&N induction kit and when i place the ducting behind the grill inbetween the lights i tihnk i get a better air flow and thus less stalling and cut outs from this rather irritating problem, but im no mechanic nor am i an engineer on these kind of things but it seems to work well for me.
  3. Hi all, im pretty new to this forum. so go easy on me hehe. Any way i was wondering where i find the paint code? i know the colour i have is belladonna (the funny blueish purple colour) but when i went to a halfords up in aberdeen the young fella asked me for my paint code and i had no idea and i did look on the plate under bonnet but its all gibberish to me? can anyone help me please? oh and i only know the name of the colour because the nice painter at my local ford told me after glancing through the window...more help than their stupid system that couldnt even tell me Oh and can i still buy this colour from somewhere in tins? not spray can. Thanks folks
  4. stalling!

I have the exact same problem. I have a mk4 p reg fiesta 1.3i with the endura-e engine (efi). i got the car 2nd hand about a year ago and noticed after a while of having it that the idle was a bit dodgy. im no expert but i knew something was up with idle or timing from experience with motorbikes and nitro cars. the problem has a tendancy to go away at times but its seriously annoying and my mates slag the hell out of me for it (some dont even drive yet). a couple of months ago i actually sorted the stalling problem when moving about the ducting for my induction kit. worked absolutely fine minus the idle still being all wrong but with out stalling. a few days ago i was servicing the car and moved the ducting (yet again) and now the problem has come back!!! :( read some forums starting with this one and came upon a link suggesting it may be the iacv. is their any other things i can try before deciding to fork out £90 for a new one. At that price i could get a zetec engine and have it fitted by my cousin lol. Any help would be great muchos gracias
