Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Alexp999's Mk3.5 Focus St-3 Ecoboost

Here's a half and half. There's a definite difference but I'm not sure I'm keen.

I'll give it a try tonight. No reason why they shouldn't fit the other way around from what I could see. Update: There's a bit of plastic inside the gap that the housing clips in to that stops you turning the housing around. I push pushed it with very little force and it snapped so I was able to turn it around. It definitely changed the light within the boot but it's not dark enough to notice if it's any better. I've done one side for now to see what the difference is. Will take pics later

Finally got round to fitting the boot LEDs. Really easy to do. Take the back seats down and pop the light out, disconnect it and swap the bulbs over. I took a before and after shot. The old bulbs look like they have more light coverage. I'll have to check this out tomorrow night Before After

Cheers dude. I see how the net works now. I won't be able to use that with the boot liner I got. Straps look spot on though, ta

Looks sweet Alex. I've just ordered some boot LEDs. Where'd you get all your straps and nets etc for the boot? Also, thanks for the pics, that's just confirmed that the idiot dealers I get the car from mounted the number plate too low. Off to Halfrauds for a new one I guess...
  6. Dash Cam

I use my GoPro. The wife bought me one for my birthday last year as I wanted something to use as a dashcam, for airsofting and experience days. Some of these ~£30 dash cams seem better quality though, especially in low light.
  7. Rumoured that we'll have news on the Diesel Mountune kit early next year. Saw a FB post by them today in response to someone asking about it; they said there's no public kit available yet but they're working with Ford still on the TDCi. Says to me there are prototypes floating about.
  8. Hello Everyone

Hi all, Figured I'd finally introduce myself after lurking and posting on here for a couple of weeks. My name is Jon, I'm a Web Developer from Leicestershire. I've just become the proud father of a new Focus ST-3 in Stealth Grey; a slight upgrade from my 2013 Fiesta Zetec 1L EcoBoost. Hobbies include Gaming, Airsoft, Camping and being as lazy as possible. I do like to understand how and why things work, so you may find I ask a lot of questions. Sorry in advance :D Cheers
  9. Ford Sync - Bluetooth Issue

Hi mate, Do your colleague and this other guy have iPhones too? From what I remember it depended on the Bluetooth profile used by the phone. I remember my Nexus 4 just flat out didn't work, but my Samsung worked perfectly. Can't remember if my iPhone worked as I always used the cable. Also, on your iPhone, if you swipe up from the bottom to get the system menu there's an icon like a box with a triangle in it. If you click that you can select other sources to send your audio through. I found that I had 2 sources for my Sync. Maybe try that and try using the other source if you have one. If that doesn't work, let us know Phone model (iPhone 5S, 6 etc), iOS version, Music App being used etc and I'll see what I can find out.
  10. Hi all, I've recently picked up my new Focus ST-3. I promised myself and the wife that I'd take much better care of this one and keep it clean, keep the tyres in good condition etc. Can anyone advise on products they've used for the upkeep of their cars? I have a few in mind but wondering if there any alternatives. Washing I live in a top floor flat, so as much as I'd like to buy a pressure washer and some snow foam, I just can't. Running 2 buckets of water down 3 flights of stairs isn't really a viable option either. So I bought some Triplewax TWH102 Waterless Wash and Shine. Having used a product called ProShine in the past, I thought I'd do some research and found this to be quite highly rated. It's actually quite good but I only intend on using it to maintain a shine for longer after a wash. We have a valeter at work who charges £15 for a mini-valet. It's not brilliant, but it'll do. There's a small chance that option won't be available soon though so I may have to take it to the local car wash myself once a month or something. Wheels It says the Triplewax can be used on alloy wheels, but I'd rather get something specific. I'd like to use Purple Rain 2.0 but without a pressure washer I think I'm out of luck. Anyone able to recommend a wasterless and relatively easy to use product? Is it also worth treating the tyres with any products? Rain Repellent Apparently Carlack is one of the better products for this. I've used Rain X in the past which was impressive but didn't last long. Anti-Fog Is Anti-Fog needed? Does it leave any grease or shimmer on the glass? I'm an Airsofter so have used a variety of Anti-Fog products in my Eye Protection before but all have given strange vision or just not worked. I'd imagine with the quick clear windscreen and keeping the air flowing it would be fine without it. Winter Tyres It says in the handbook that the ST comes with Summer tyres not meant for winter at all. I think this is a kick in the teeth if I'm honest but ah well. What should I look for in a tyre to make it a winter tyre? Are there any good brands people can recommend that don't cost the earth? I'm looking online and they're all about £100 per tyre! If anyone has any other suggestions, feel free to share. I want to take care of my new pride and joy but not so often that the neighboughs say "Look at that <insert slang term>!". Cheers
  11. My Mk3.5 Zetec S Has Finally Arrived!

Ah. I'm guessing Ford are having some influence on these refurbs as it looks identical.
  12. My Mk3.5 Zetec S Has Finally Arrived!

Is that first pic in Leicester? Looks like the local ford dealer there. Unless they copied them as they've recent refurbed.
  13. Will Mk3.5 Focus Use Focccus Software

There's a blog that says focus up to 2016 models.

I tried Aviva after seeing this. £950! I won't bother. LV are the best for me it seems at £350. Any day now I'll be having the Viper alarm fitted on my ST by SecureMyCar too. Wonder if that will bring my premium down?
