    Fiesta Titanium 2009

    Hi Guys, After someone inconsiderately crashed into the wife parked MK6 2004 fiesta flame before Xmas, and is now a write off I need to replace it. Looking at the Mk7 models now, a few have come up on autotrader, gumtree etc. but don't know much about this model if it is that different from the MK6 Would prefer to go for a facelift model but unfortunately budget restrictions means I will be looking at the 2009 - 2012 models, think facelift was 2013 --> I am going to view a 2011 zetec trim tomorrow, and also an 2009 titanium model both 1.4 petrol anything to look out for or a particular model to avoid? any advice appreciated cheers gregg

    in terms of swapping out stereo I may or may not do this....but do you know if you have to change the display screen or just the stereo?

    i prefer the titanium, the one I've seen has the standard radio though but loads of other extras, keyless entry push button start etc, auto wipers etc.... its an 09 plate I'm wondering if you can swap out the radio for a sony version?

    Dash going hay wire

    Possibly a failing battery. I had a few random dash messages pop up last month or so, and then the cold weather came and last night my battery failed on me. All fixed now
  6. Thought it struggled to start this morming tbh. Managed to drive home but just went to pop out... And wont start, not turning over at all. All kinds of crazy messages on display, "power steering malfunction", "transmission failure", outside temp says -60 deg c!!! Could this be battery or alternator possibly, gonna go and put it in diagnostics mode shortly and see if that sheds any light Any help appreciated. Cheers

    Help (non starter) focus 1.8 2008

    Battery wasnt holding charge. AA new battery fitted,all seems ok started her over a few times. Only weird thing being the outside temp still saying -59 deg c and when trying to re program clock it wouldn't go past the year 2013. Weird ?? 🤔

    Headlights working and all interior lighting works, dash lights up. Tried electric windows and were a bit slow closing. Tried starting again and strange clicking when trying to start her but just not turning over at all. Ran dash trick mode. Battery level says 10.8v. Then found all these dtc Dtc 900 Dtc e510 Dtc 5759 Hopefully just a battery issue as have had heated screens and air con in the recent weather spell. Looks like a trip for the AA

    Scuttle Panel

    Need to remove scuttle panel on mk2.5 focus. Anyone done this? Looks like its got clips at front, of scuttle, then obviously need to remove wipers. Does it then lift off or any hidden clips to be wary of? Had new windscreen fitted the other day but everytime you engage wipers there is a strange noise coming from that area which wasn't there before. If I remove the wiper blade itself and move the wiper arm away from screen and engage wipers I can't here it! Will take a look at weekend

  11. Got in car today, turned ignition and got the audio chime (when fuel is low) followed by dash warning "power steering malfunction" message . Turned ignition off and on and no warnings this time? I note from the manual that the 1.8 duratec petrol says no checks are required to power steering levels....so I'm guessing its electric system? Drove fine to and from work no issues. Maybe a computer glitch? Will keep an eye on it. Model 2008 facelift 1.8 duratec petrol titanium
  12. Yeah just tried it under load as you suggested and the voltage dropped to 11.6v at lowest. Fluctuated between this and 12v whilst under a full load. Load used at same time as below:- Heated front & rear screens Front headlamps full beam Front & rear fogs All interior lighting Air conditioning on full Front Wipers on max
  13. Done the dash trick. Battery is 11.8v without engine running, 13.8v with engine running. Scrolling thru menu I did find this DTC #01 D900 Not sure if this is a fault code of somekind and/or related to yesterday?
  14. Noticed my coolant tank was very low earlier so topped it. But have now found the cause. Is this just a case of a new hose needed? Cheers

  16. Hi All, Had bonnet up to check my oil level earlier, and noticed this hose not connected to anything?? anyone know what this is and if it should be connected to anything please? Not sure where this goes to, appears to go up towards the windscreen area? picture attached :-)

    Throttle body! Had exactly same issues. Never again since replacing. Not cheap fix mind.

    Thats correct jbeer! assuming you mean the instrument cluster being lit?? Its a backlit dash like all newish cars these days, doesnt matter if sidelights)headlights are activated or not the speedo and rev cluster is always back lit

    Yeah, mines just started doing this twaanggg too!! only on shutting boot or rear door (exhaust side). Its Been bugging me for weeks. I need to get a trolley jack under it and take a look. Dont seem to have any rattles whilst driving.

    Hi, there are various threads on here for your bluetooth question....not that easy I seem to recall but has been done. Regarding your global closing, because you disconnected battery, they need resetting, have you a handbook with the card, it explains how to do it in there... Its something like this Hold the switch down until the window is all the way down Release the switch then hold down again for 5 seconds Press the switch so the window goes all the way up Release the switch and press it up, again for 5 seconds The window will now be set for one touch and global opening/closing. Repeat this procedure for each individual window...

    Power Steering Fluid

    Mk6 fiesta flame 2004 (04 plate) Anyone know much about the fluid to use top up please? I noticed it was low whilst checking oil and screenwash levels. Doesn't appear to be any leaks from first look. Fiesta handbook says it needs to meet Ford Specification WSA-M2C195-A but when I type this into ford parts uk website it says its red power steering fluid. the fluid doesnt look red inside the power steering filler tank?? http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_red_power_steering_fluid_1ltr_f_1776431.htm
  24. Hi guys Anyone know how easy this panel is to remove? Can it be done without jacking car up as It looks like its only held on with screws? I just need to check for any oil leaks as checked my level today and it was quite low, only had service 2months ago and it had 4.3ltrs according to paperwok. I just topped it up so will keep an eye on it, but from 1st view looking over the back of the engine towards the panel, there is some sort of residue on the panel, so my first thought was oil!! Just wanted to take panel off to have a quick look but don't have any ramps,to put car on and only got the crappy wheel jack

    Yeah that's it, the air the intake manifold assemby control part. http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_engine_air_shut_off_control_assy_f_1357313_c_812.htm How long has your light been on? the EML tend to re-set themselves and go out after so many ignition turns! but the ECU will still store the related fault code which triggered the light when read with a code reader.
