      it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Ta for the info. I did manage to get it out eventually, it took all my sixteen stone swinging on the strong arm with a 14mm impact allen key. I cleaned up the threads with a wire brush, (both internal & external) wrapped the plug threads with a generous helping of PTFE tape, & screwed it back in. I couldn't torque it up as my torque wrench doesn't go that high. I swung on the strong arm instead and it seems to be working fine now. Thanks again for the info.
  2. Hi all, I have an unusual problem on my 1.4 Fusion Zetec. It started out as a misfire. When I plugged in the scanner, it came up with misfire cylinder 4. After investigating this, it seems that the problem is steam, escaping from an allen key bolt on the cylinder head between cylinders 3 & 4. The bolt is in the middle of cylinders 3 & 4, goes in the same direction as the plugs and seem to be a blanking plug for the water jacket. Has anyone come across this before and can I take this plug out to seal with PTFE? The picture shows the bolt as viewed looking down plug number 4 towards plug number 3. Sorry its not very clear.     I wouldn't paint them purple! It may be your favourite colour but if you ever want to sell the car, remember that not all people like purple. At least if you paint them black it's a neutral colour & most people would like it. Black wheels would also look cool on a black car. Hope this helps.
  4. Tripple Deck > Single Din

    Hi Leo. When I bought the single din conversion kit, it came with the standard ISO wiring adapter. As the stereo I fitted had this wiring, it made life a lot easier, there was no butchering of wires, it just plugged in. Further more, when I fitted the Parrot hands free kit, it just plugged into the ISO wiring. I'm chuffed to bits with the results.
  5. 2006 Ford Fiesta Cd Format.

    Try using a proper CD burning program like Nero. The format you should be using is CDA. If its not MP3 compatible, it wont play MP3s. Hope this helps.
  6. Replacing Tailgate

    I am about to replace the tailgate on my fusion (as the old one is damaged) and would like to know, is there a plug for the electrics? I have pulled out the gromit and had a look, but the wiring loom just seems to dissapear behind the headlining. Before I start to strip down the interior, could someone please tell me if there is a plug, or will I just have to feed all the wires into the new tailgate? Many thanks, Paul.
  7. You could power them by using an inverter. I have a 17" lcd monitor and it uses 1 Amp which is 240w. I might be a bit put off by having 240V running through the car though. Anyway, good luck. Paul.
  8. Hi all, a mate of mine has just bought an oldish galaxy. The problem is that the electric windows do not work. He says that he looked on Autodata which says there is a control module under the passenger seat. He says that there is no module or wiring for one under the passanger seat. Has anyone got any idea where else it may be? Cheers, Paul.
  9. Key Remote Problems

    I had a similar problem with my fusion remote. My mate sent me to see his mate who had a device for testing key fobs. You just hold the key next to the device and press one of the buttons. If it is working, the device flashes. I was so impressed that I bought my own fob tester from Ebay. If you are interested, it's one of these. Fob Tester.If anyone in the Oldham area needs one testing then go to MAS on the far end of High Street in Shaw town centre. He tests them free of charge. Hope this helps. Paul.

  11. Tripple Deck > Single Din

    Well I've finally plucked up the courage to butcher the dash. I bought one of these off Ebay Single din conversion I did have to cut the centre sections out of the dash, but this was not as hard as I expected. everything was quite easy to do and as you can see from the pic, it turned out quite neat. Many thanks for the coments and advice.

  13. Hi All, just been looking on Ebay at various bits n bobs. I've seen the double din conversion kits advertised for the fusion. Is this for the later fusion or will it fit my fusion with the triple deck CD player? I noticed that if I was to try to fit this into my fusion, it would mean butchering the dash. Does anyone know the easiest any way to fit a single din stereo into the triple deck dash without damaging it? many thanks, Paul.
  14. Hi all, I have a problem with the light on the dash that warns that a door is open. Sometimes when driving along the road, if I hit a bump, the door warning light comes on along with the interior lights. Then when I lock the doors, it may or may-not go out. I think it may be a problem with one of the door switches but I cannot find them. It has had a slight prang on the tailgate, could this have something to do with it? I would be grateful for any ideas you may have. Cheers, Paul.
  15. Towbar

    Hi there, I dont know if you are still interested but I fitted a towbar on my fusion yesterday. All the holes were pre-drilled and it took me and my mate about an hour to fit. We found that it was easier to jack up the back end and remove the wheels. It was easy to fit and we had no problems with following the instructions.If you are still interested the towbar in question was one of these. Ebay Towbar For Ford Fusion We also found it very amusing that it comes with parts called "Plates On Rods" Lol. Hope this is of some use to you. Regards, Paul.
