  1. Hi, i recently bought a 10 plate focus from a dealer and yes the 3 years warranty is still effective as long as the car has the correct service intervals i believe! i'm sure there is someone on here who can explain better than me though
  2. i've recently bought a 10 plate 1.6 tdci and gotta say i love it! i only do short journeys through the week just to work and a total of 15 miles a day but at the weekends i have a nice drive upto newcastle from sheffield or an alternative 45 min drive if i go fishing instead so hoping i wont have any DPF issues which have been mentioned! i've read some of the figures of the mpg for the 1.6 tdci above and i'm getting quite abit more, i'm currently averaging 61 mpg just driving to work and back, this is not based on my long journeys at the weekend as i regularly reset the average mpg counter just to see how i'm driving, then when i reset it for the journey up north near enough every time i get 70+ overall i love the car, its not as sluggish as what i thought it would be, having previously owned a Focus ST i was quite worried about the difference but i was pleasently surprised! i'm not saying the 1.6 tdci is any where near the performance of the ST but was happy with the tdci's performance!
  3. thanks jeebo! that was basically the same thought i had! i've seen a few with 'focus' which i thought looked rather good but tempted by having my initials 'SMG' so it a little different!
  4. morning everyone, just curious as to whether the vinyl covers for the 3rd brake are road legal? seen some around where you can have your choice of letters cut out on a vinyl strip which stick over the 3rd brake light and therefore light is only seen through the letters etc or are there better alternatives than just the sticky vinyl covers? cheers, shaun
  5. i believe that there will defo be a mk3 focus st but unfortunately the 2.5L Volve engine will be replaced with a 2.0L eco boost offering around 250bhp! the sound the 2.5 Volve lump produces is just awesome and tbh without this the ST will loose some of its character!
  6. only one car for me on that list and thats the RS! having previously owned an ST it was a fantastic car and the RS is even better, keep my fingers crossed for a lottery win haha
  7. should be completely free and no need to pay labour charges! :D
  8. tried it on mine today, happy to say that it works! why are little things like this not in the owners manual? unless i've missed it lol
  9. been thinking of getting myself a pressure washer and also starting to use the snow foam. i've read previous posts on snow foaming and understand what i need but was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent pressure washer? been looking at this: http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.210-7948.aspx cheers, Shaun
  10. i feel left out, i have a 2010 focus and mine doesn't clunk at any time
  11. all sorted now, thanks Lenny :)
  12. thanks Lenny, i'll av a look after work!
  13. very nice car mate, i miss my ST-3, absolutely loved the car but could not justify the running costs anymore and i understand when you mention the MPG! even on a gentle run from Sheff to Newcastle barely going over 65 the best i got was 38.9! watch out for the alternator going, very common problem with the ST's and also the oil diaphragm is a common problem around the 50k mark! apart from those they are an awesome car!
  14. hey all, does anyone know how to get to the bulb in the glove box? i've removed the 4 screws at the top but the cover within the glove box doesn't seem to want to budge! also how do you remove the courtesy light cover? cheers
  15. just want to check whether the focus fogs are H8's or H11's on a 2010 registered focus? just checking because when i had my 06 focus all the websites etc i looked at all stated that they were H8's, however when i got some and tried replacing they dint fit and were indeed H11's just thought i'd check before buying any this time lol
  16. if it was from a dealer i'm pretty sure it was their responsibility to have this done prior to selling onto you! i'm sure someone else on here will be able to clarify! think if you have any problems with the DPF aswell after purchasing any costs can be relayed back to them or they pay to fix it!
  17. been thinking about it more today and think i'm gonna go with panther black, think it will look smart all the same colour but will see when its done! quick question, is the zetec-s lower front grille a straight swap? and am i righ in the guessing that the zetec-s upper grille is the same as the normal zetec? cheers
  18. i found this on another forum its allegedly true. Can you imagine working for a company that only has a little more than 635 employees, but, has the following employee statistics.. 29 have been accused of spouse abuse 7 have been arrested for fraud 9 have been accused of writing bad cheques 17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses 3 have done time for assault 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges 8 have been arrested for shoplifting 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits 84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year and collectively, this year alone, they have cost the British tax payer £92,993,748 in expenses!!! Which organization is this? It's the 635 members of the House of Commons. The same group that cranks out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line. It just speaks for itself really
  19. ah chrome film/wrap, i thought you meant using a chrome spray, i have seen companies that make chrome strips that you can clip over plastic grilles etc! last time i did it on my ST it stood up very well to the stone chips etc pretty well so confident it will again this time! on e question tho how hard is it to remove the lower and upper grilles?
  20. i like the idea, how hard would it be to get the black lines on and is there any good chrome effect paints out there? would need a good chrome paint as the focus has a chrome strip on the tip of the bonnet so would need a close match to that
  21. when i purchase a new car i always like to do small things that make it my own, different from the norm. i've decided that the front grilles and fog light surrounds on my 10 plate focus need a change of colour, no overly keen on the grey! now i need to decide what colour my car is panther black, so my first thought is to do the grilles and fog surrounds panther black as well or should i go for a good contrasting colour? not sure if a contrasting colour would look daft, what are your thoughts? i did this on last focus, took everything off, good clean, couple of coats of primer, followed satin black spray and a clear laquer for that high gloss finish and the difference was awesome decisions decisions........
  22. not overly sure, i only noticed it and dint really pay much attention to it, too busy juggling my light lol will have another look when my next set of bulbs arrive and i fit them
  23. happy with the new lights :-)

  24. yeah that makes perfect sense and nice to know that they dont black list addresses now, thanks for that B)
