Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

Wuss [emoji39] Man flu is a myth. It's actually Manthrax. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  2. Sync mouse mat?

Sync2 euro spec iirc had climate on screen & voice control as standard. Sync3 euro spec doesn't but can easily be activated using Forscan. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  3. Things I Don't Like

I'm the ebuyer [emoji41]. Wife's passion is Amazon and shoes [emoji37] Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  4. Things I Don't Like

I bought a dishwasher and she keeps "forgetting" how to use it. I keep trying to "forget" how to use the washing machine but it hasn't worked yet [emoji57] Most of my washing is uniform that tends to get very muddy and stinks of wet dogs so fair do's I suppose. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  5. Things I Don't Like

Nothing wrong with domestic chores. Only thing I hate doing is dusting. I do all the vacuuming due to having 2 dogs that shed hair all over the place. Wife hasn't washed a dish in years [emoji848]. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  6. MK1.5 Air Con O Ring

I'm running it with XP Pro using a VMWare emulator. If I had Win7 32bit then I wouldn't need to run XP but my system is 64bit and Microcat won't run under 64bit. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  7. Some help removing key ignition lock assembly Mk2

If you have the ECU and cluster but no key fobs with the key then keep the original lock barrel and get the original fobs recoded to the new immobiliser system. A decent auto locksmith can do a transponder recode (plus a relearn of the fob to the central locking) in about five minutes using a professional module and shouldn't cost the earth. A main dealership could do it too but will charge a fair bit more. (Btw, I like to be thorough and I am always glad to help). Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)

  10. Some help removing key ignition lock assembly Mk2

As a correction to my previous post- I believe that what is holding the lock unit in place is the clock spring unit for the airbag and control stalks so they need to come off to allow access, The bolts holding the mechanism in place are indeed security bolts which need drilling out and replacing. Do you really need to remove the whole steering lock mechanism? The transponder ring doesn't need swapping as all the immobiliser system needs is a matched ECU, Transponder chip and cluster. The original key blade will work ok, just swop the blade head to the replacement key body. Just in case you need to go more in-depth I have copied all relevant info from my PDF Haynes book into a PDF for you- Steering Column & Airbag Info PDF.pdf

  15. MK1.5 Air Con O Ring

    Right, Microcat back up and running. Diagram shows all seal locations- HR1 is Finis code 6918663 (15.67mm x 1.93mm) & approx £2.00. HR2 is Finis code 3956589 (8.75mm x 2.0mm) & approx £1.50. HR3 is Finis code 6753636 (12.93mm x 1.86mm) & approx £1.00. HR4 is Finis code 4105339 (10.16mm x 1.85mm) & approx £3.00. For the seals on a full system you need 1x HR1, 1x HR2, 2x HR3 & 2x HR4.
