Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Black front grill or not?

Looks so much better than slats. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  2. How to program transponder fiesta mk7 2009?

I'm surprised the third key even starts the car at all. Under the PatsII immobiliser system transponders can only be added to the car via a dedicated programming unit such as IDS or with a modified ELM327 interface cable and a program called Forscan with a temporary advanced licence (all free via the Forscan forum). The problem with Forscan is that unless you really read up on what is involved and thoroughly understand the process that you could end up debonding all existing keys or potentially bricking your ECU thus incurring a big bill to sort it all out. Personally I would strongly advise that you ring some Auto Locksmiths, explain what you require and get quotes. Programming a pre-cut key will take less than 5 minutes tops and shouldn't be too expensive. At least then you avoid Dealership costs, they will most likely refuse to program a self-sourced key and in all likelihood insist you buy a new key, pay for a diagnostic check (usually a charge for an hours labour plus the plugging in of the computer while they have a coffee break on your coin) and then promptly call in the self same locksmith you yourself could have dealt with directly & charge you at their rate which may run to £200+, add the cost of the key and you may be looking at £300 or more. IMO, why go through a song and dance with the dealership when you can cut out all the faffing around and deal direct with the guy that can do exactly what you really want and for probably £50 - £60. 4. Things I Don't Like

Not much else you can do there. Was the original registration held back for when the car gets sold on? Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  5. Things I Don't Like

So it was the original plate before the personalised plate was transferred? As long as you have the paperwork showing the plate transfer and a correct V5C then that should be enough surely? Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  6. Changing wallpaper on sync 2

I must admit that an ability to create or add your own themes / wallpapers would have been a nice touch on Sync3. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  7. Changing wallpaper on sync 2

All you can do with Sync3 is change colours and themes but that requires Forscan and an ELM interface. You can try out different themes temporarily by entering the diagnostic mode. Turn sync3 on in FM radio mode then press & hold the cd eject and fast forward keys (or back key, can't 100% recall) then the diagnostic mode should start. You can find the theme settings quite easily but they only last until the system is turned off unless altered with Forscan. You can add a permanent diagnostics link in the main tab menu if required by switching on the relevant slider in the test menu. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)

I don't suppose there is a dashcam fitted to the car? Metadata could be extracted as proof of time/date of footage plus images of the car's location (road signs, prominent features etc..)on the day in question? Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  12. Things I Don't Like

Sounds like a clear case of cloning. I would gather as much proof that the vehicle was nowhere near the location e.g, till receipts, work rosters, car park tickets, etc. Contact DVLA to advise them of a suspected cloning (they may issue a new registration in some cases) and the force that issued the nip plus your local force to ensure that the situation is documented. I would also recommend that you ask for any log numbers attached to your reports for ease of further reference. http://www.ukmotorists.com/motoring/what%20to%20do%20if%20your%20vehicle%20has%20been%20cloned.asp http://www.simplyregistrations.co.uk/blog/number-plate-theft-car-cloning-dont-be-a-victim/ Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  13. 6000 CD Radio Code

No problem fella. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  14. Car key broken

A decent Auto Locksmith would be able to read the lock with a tool and cut a key to match but it may cost a few quid. Do you have key cover on your car insurance? Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
  15. 6000 CD Radio Code

It is club policy to not share radio codes. There are plenty of ebay traders that can create M codes for a couple of pounds or search for M code generator programs on the web and apps for Android phones. Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
