Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Tdci Won't Start!

Alternator was dead according to the A chap, so the battery wouldn't charge
  2. Tdci Won't Start!

I hope you're right mate, its been one thing after the other. Just before the turbo died it was making this strange kind of hairdryer sound and I've only just got it back and can hear it still doing it a bit around 2,000 revs..Aargh!!!
  3. Tdci Won't Start!

No warning lights are up but I've just put my key in, instrument panel fine, turn to the second ignition position and nothing car just chugs once and dies, so no turning over.. Steering stiff last night for a moment, turbo died last week..I'm not having much luck :o
  4. My Steering Just Got Really Stiff!

No idea how it went from being near impossible to move to as it always is
  5. My Steering Just Got Really Stiff!

It seemed fine afterwards but it was really tough to move, is there anywhere I could check to see if there's a problem? I don't get how it went from being completely stiff to absolutely fine in the space of two minutes? Cheers for your help guys, Having just experienced the turbo blow and being stranded, I really don't want that all over again
  6. No idea what has just happened, I was just shopping, located my spot, pulled up ready to reverse in and my steering was almost un moveable, paused for a minute, selected reverse and backed in ,with the steering locked then it was fine..Any ideas folks? Only just got my car back after the recent turbo blowing
  7. Turbo Legal Advice Please Asap

Hi Gregers, yeah I contacted them cheers, the general consensus was give the dealer at least one chance to redeem themselves which in all fairness is what I am doing, that said, they have organised a courtesy car but I am paying the insurance, plus I paid the towing charges so I think the best way is get my car back then bang in a claim through the small claims and claim as much as I can online.
  8. Locking Wheel Nuts

Hello mate, no that's £45 labour and I think around £65 the whole lot!
  9. Turbo Legal Advice Please Asap

Just an update, the turbo was completely knackered and they are going for a new but have intimated a small contribution from myself, which I am not that happy about but want my car back! I've been paying £50 p/w on insurance for a courtesy car so I'm not made of money ( as my nan would say!)
  10. Turbo Legal Advice Please Asap

Cheers chaps, keep them coming. They've stated they can take it where they want and don't have to provide any documentation on a repair and also that they only have to make a contribution, do we have the choice to nominate the garage of our choice if we do not trust the dealer?

  12. Hi all, I need some hard and fast facts please anything you can give me that is pertinent to the following: Situation: i)Car purchased via dealer week ago, turbo blows and is confirmed by AA. Independent inspection carried out and confirms turbo is blown and vehicle towed away. ii) Dealer is contacted and made aware that car is unfit to drive but offers to repair turbo using the garage of his choice and that has stated he is not obliged to offer any documentation of the repair on the turbo, which means I could technically be going backwards and forwards every week. Is this correct? Is he required by law to provide documentation of a repair of this nature? I will be seeking legal advice tomorrow and am fully aware of the 1974 act so realise that a warranty is not necessary, I have outlined this to the dealer, but is he required to provide documentation of the turbo repair? For instance the AA cover turbos for £5 a month extra, but surely they are not going to give a warranty on an un documented re-con turbo, for any kind of warranty I would imagine they need to see the level of work carried out? Regardless, from my point of view, I wish to see some account of the level of repair as it required towing! ASAP would be great,
  13. Locking Wheel Nuts

Tried my local Ford dealer and they want £45 + VAT, then there's the problem of replacing the nuts too :(
  14. Locking Wheel Nuts

Cheers all, I took alook at the Halfords 'lazer' removal nut but it only works on one of those air compressor thingumys plus the bead was really fat so would be fine if you had half a cm or so play but mine takes up the whole width so a head will not fit over the nut which is how the Hlafords ones work mine is either gonna be drilled out or find the exact head, they really are a pain in the backside particularly if people can't even be bothered to look after them, weeks before I sold my car I made a note to myself to locate and put the nut somewhere v safe, when I sold it it was bagged and in the glove compartment and I made a point of showing the buyer, I did however fail to check for one on my new purchase, which is my fault, but I just hoped that someone had taken the time like I did, moan moan!
