Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Mondeo Virgin

Very nice cars mate, ideal for eating up motorway miles 8)
  2. Hi From A New Ford Owner!

Hi fellow noob, seems to be a good source of info on here :)
  3. The Best Cars You've Owned List

Here's my list (plenty of sheds in there), 1988 Ford Escort 1.6 1990 Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6 1990 Ford Orion 1.6 1990 Metro GTI 1990 Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 16v 1995 Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7TD 1996 Toyota Carina 2.0 1997 Peugeot 306 TD 2000 Saab 9-3 Turbo FPT 1997 Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 16v SE8 1997 Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 16v SE8 (spares) 1998 Peugeot 306 TD 2000 VW Passat 1.8T 1997 Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 16v 2001 VW Passat 1.8T facelift 1995 Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 16v 2000 Ford Focus 2.0 estate (Current) You may notice there was a pattern about halfway down the list, this is when you have a family and try to justify owning a 2 door coupe. You try to make it work but fail so buy a big family car to be practical, you get bored of it and convince yourself you can make the coupe work then realise you're an idiot and buy a sensible car again
  4. Church This Sunday Anyone?

    Oh dear
  5. Idiots On Motorways

Gutted for you mate, one can only hope this nob gets his come uppance.
  6. Ford Cougar

It's a nice car but abit sluggish for a V6, especially if you compare it to the Vauxhall V6's that were about at that time. My favourite thing about cougars is if you're tall and sit in the back (no easy task), if someone opens the bootlid and slams it shut you can give yourself brain damage when it hit's the top of your nut
  7. Forgive Me Father, For I Have Sinned...

How about the new Nissan 370Z?
  8. Cheers Stoney, yeah that was the one I was referring to. I know I could save loads of ball ache by buying this panel it's just the trims on the door cards and the gear stick surround all match the current fascia and it would be nice to keep it all matching. I've made the mistake before of taking a dremel to fascia and ruined it, just thought there might be some little tricks to use the current fascia without !Removed! it up.
  9. I'm toying with the idea of fitting a double din dvd/bluetooth/satnav unit into the dash but have read somewhere that the gap isn't big enough to take one. You can buy a whole centre fascia that has an enlarged slot for a double din unit on Ebay but even if I paint it I won't be able to match the wood design that's on the current fascia and I kinda like it. It's the grey wood effect, not the brown type. Anyway, has anyone taken this on and finished it by modifying the existing fascia? I hate flip up screen units, the flip mechanism inevitably fails so would rather go the harder route and use a double din. This is what I wanted to fit (I always use Sony) Thanks all.
  10. May be abit chavvy but you could fit some gauges?
  11. First place to start is the fuse, after that if there is no signs of breaks in the wires it's probable that the boot lock mechanism is faulty. Does your car have remote central locking?
  12. Best Driving Songs?

Totally agree mate, there's a name for these people at the lights with the music blairing, it rhymes with "shunts" :D
  13. Another Noob :)

Thanks for the welcome guys ;)
  14. Mondoe Starting Issue

^^^Though this seems most likely, my mothers mondeo was doing the same and a new cam position sensor solved it. Cost about £20 inc Vat from dealer, they updated this sensor a while back and the new ones should be grey.
  15. Sorry mate but I don't really understand what you're asking? Are you saying the boot won't open?
