Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. i believe all Fiesta's have it. Google Fiesta secret compartment :)
  2. Anybody know where I can buy the cover for the secret compartment. Mine's been knocking about in the footwell for a few months and some bright spark decided to throw it away when cleaning my car... Thanks :( PS have tried google to no avail And if anyone is wondering why I took the lid off in the first place, fitted a phone/sat nav holder.
  3. Yea the alloy itself came with the weights already on it, and a tyre already on the alloy so I assumed it was fully balanced, hence why I'm not holding out much hope that balancing fixes the problem :( Anyway, I'll get it checked out and see what they say, then report back. Any other ideas what it could be if the balancing doesn't work?
  4. Thanks guys, the alloy I have at the moment actually came with some weights attached to it so I assumed it had been balanced already. Or are wheels not done on an individual basis?
  5. Hi, It's a full sized spare wheel, I just called it a space saver from force of habit. My bad. Also, the incident happened on the way to work which is a 100 mile round trip every day. Try sourcing a new alloy in under a week and getting it delivered to your house and fitted also while working a 72 hour week including weekends. That was the earliest I could replace it. And yes, going above 50mph was diagnostically viable to see if the problem increased with speed which to some extent it did, but I did it maybe 3 times maximum and probably only up to 56mph. The only other times I had to increase from 50mph was when I was being full beamed and honked at by lorry drivers behind me for going 50mph in the left lane of a motorway... despite being perfectly legal, on my way to work. Any ideas anybody about what could actually be occurring with my wheel? I don't consider it dangerous as it hasn't affected my steering or ability to stop or hold the road etc, I'd just like to get a few opinions before I pay extensive amounts of money to investigate something which a user on these forums may have experienced before and have some advice about.
  6. Hi guys, I hit a pot hole maybe 2 months ago or so, and it completely obliterated my late 2008 alloy into many seperate pieces. I immediately installed the space saver and got a new alloy sent to me within a week. Driving on the space saver, I noticed my steering wheel would shake above 50mph and the car would rumble from the left passenger wheel (the point of impact). I took no notice of this and just put it down to driving on a space saver near it's maximum intended speed (50mph) which I rarely if at all exceeded. With the new alloy installed, my car still rumbles and shakes from the left passenger wheel above 50mph and I'm worried something may have been damaged by the impact, since it was large enough to actually shatter an alloy, and now that the wheel and tyre have been replaced I doubt it's anything to do with the wheel itself. Does anybody have any ideas as to what, if anything, could have been damaged by this type of accident, and what could be causing this problem? The steering wheel also shakes mildly but it doesn't affect the actual steering itself and I haven't noticed any extra issues with the tracking etc. Hope to hear from you all soon, and thank you for reading P.S. I had the suspension arm on that wheel replaced about 6 months ago, so I know the noise that used to make and can safely rule that out as a possibility.
  7. Fiesta Mk 7 MPG

Yea you might be right Anywho, after an amazing night out and a long !Removed! taxi home, I noticed the taxi driver changing at ridiculously low revs, and I'm talking like 1500, sometimes even 1000... fair enough he has a huge diesel engine but even so, surely that's torture? Definitely wouldn't be healthy for a car like mine, or would it? I have no qualms about changing that early, but I wouldn't want to cause damage...
  8. Fiesta Mk 7 MPG

Well actually my Peugeot got to work and back driving incredibly economically on £10, whereas driving incredibly economically in the Fiesta for the same journey costs me £15 minimum. So I stopped caring after I realised no matter how I drive I still have to throw my money away.
  9. Fiesta Mk 7 MPG

I always change gear at 2000 revs or just over I don't accelerate particularly harshly but not slowly either, just the same as a normal person There's no extra weight or extra people in my car either, it's just me to and from work If I'm on a dual carriageway I tend to cruise around 80ish, sometimes 90 if I'm in a hurry... and I knowwwww you're going to say that this is what's costing me my MPG... but in my 1.4 HDi Peugeot 207, 60 plate, I drove exactly the same way and got about 600 miles out of 1 tank which cost the same amount of money, which is why I think this Fiesta is so God awful, because it can barely get over 300 driving the same way!? So that's half the economy... And I pretty much do all motorway driving, never really any short journeys. Also the clutch is terrible and can't handle being in traffic, as when stuck in London in traffic it pretty much starts to die and shudder whenever you pull away... and when you fully depress the clutch pedal while stationary it makes a tapping on your foot which is really irritating. Also when coasting in neutral the Revs don't lay idle until you come to a stop, whereas in every other car I've had when coasting in neutral the Revs would idle at the same speed no matter what the car was doing. The mileage on my car when purchased was 17,000 miles... it's now on about 21,000 miles and I've only had it a few months. I do a lot of driving so I really REALLY notice the massive hole in my pocket that this thing is creating in comparison to the last car, which subsequently I only actually got rid of because it kept having problems over and over and over and I couldn't be arsed with it anymore. So now I've ended up with another car that also has problems people refuse to fix or admit to their existence. From Bedfordshire to London and back used half a tank yesterday.. that's about 55 miles each way in total. What a CRAP "car".
  10. Fiesta Mk 7 MPG

So I brimmed my tank (about £57) with Diesel and got 340 miles until the bottom end of the red... What a car... And before anyone says it, yes I've taken it to the dealership who refuse to admit anything is wrong with it Also I've had near-death incidents on several occasions due to the terrible brakes, but apparently they're "better than good" Top car, would recommend to anybody feeling particularly depressed who doesn't care if they might die on the way to and from work and doesn't mind remortgaging his house to drive to the shops and back.
  11. Installing Rear Speakers 1.4Tdci Zetec

I just figured since the stock ones are 25W and these ones are 210W, I couldn't really go wrong... Would they even let me give them back?
  12. Installing Rear Speakers 1.4Tdci Zetec

Well I installed some new front speakers, FLI FI6's on the advice of a guy at Halfords telling me they're the best 'all rounders' they had, and they're f*****g terrible... absolutely no bass whatsoever. Guess that was a waste of money, they're worse than the stock ones!
  13. Installing Rear Speakers 1.4Tdci Zetec

Surprisingly enough I haven't tried that! Although I definitely will next time I go out... at the moment I'm just staying indoors and touching myself But the thing is, I'm just afraid that if the unit is only designed to run 4 speakers, then I'd have to sacrifice 2 at the front?
  14. Installing Rear Speakers 1.4Tdci Zetec

I'm a big fan of getting things done on the cheap haha ;) But would I lose the 2 front tweeters if I wired up rear speakers, or is it possible to configure the default head unit to 6 speakers?
