Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Tyre/road noise

Look here : all 3 tested values at a glance for your size... https://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s305p0/Car_Tyres_-_MPV_Tyres_-_People_Carrier_Tyres_-_17_inch_R17_inch_-_215_50_17_215_50R17
  2. Keyless security

Faraday pouches stop them stealing your keys signal. Use them on both my keyless cars and they work perfectly.
  3. D13 HPD - Mk3 RS

The blue badges go really well with the Magnetic paint Where'd you get your nuts from? (fnar fnar!)
  4. D13 HPD - Mk3 RS

Nice car! Love magnetic.. would have been my first choice if Nitrous hadn't been available. Sounds like you rode the clutch a bit on your first launch - it is un-natural to be harsh with it i know, but it really does work! (And turn TC off for a tad of wheel slip if it's dry - Ford Test drivers said that's the fastest way to get away)
  5. Didn't know they did this: https://www.ford.co.uk/owner/service-and-maintenance/ford-mobile-service Participating dealers: https://www.ford.co.uk/content/dam/guxeu/uk/documents/home/owners/service-maintenance/ford-mobile-service/DOC-Mobile_Service_Dealer_Participation_List.pdf
  6. Ford Sync Updates

The Ford checker: https://www.ford.co.uk/owner/resources-and-support/sync-bluetooth/update#/ says that my 2016 Fiesta has a SYNC update available and I've downloaded the 731Mb zip file. I'm of the mind that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" so are there any actual benefits from updating? Nothings ever stopped or crashed unexpectedly on mine.
  7. 6 seater RS?

Not quite so much in the RS with it's high boot floor and "lions feet" welded to the sides even if you do take the boot foams out:
  8. Not sure where I'd put the seatbelt though
  9. RS owners watch this immediately

The Mustang HG might be fitted and the head material might be porous. That's what the FSA is addressing by replacing the HG in all cases and Head if it fails a pressure test. No big shakes IMO. Car has 5 year warranty and if it goes pop I'll get it fixed. Old news.
  10. Cleaning / Detailing

I find the key to getting a product to work on the frankly crap Ford rubber window surrounds and any other black (non tyre) finish is to make sure they're completely free of anything before you apply your chosen product. Preparation is the key as it is to all detailing. That's where a decent clean with Isopropyl Alcohol will work wonders. Gtechniq C1/5 is great for a semi permanent solution on rubbers, but Auto Finesse Revive does a great job too. I find Carpro P.E.R.L. a nice finish on tyres if you want a satin finish rather than the generic glossy one.
  11. Fiesta Ecoboost Parts Up-For-Grabs

Hi, I'll have the induction and secondary pipes of you please? (I'd have had all of it if Thanasis hadn't got in first - well played!) Not too far from Oxon for a weekend / Friday afternoon collection.
  12. It's just taken off the app until stock is available. At that point letters will go out. It's still on ETIS but Ford don't acknowledge that regular punters can access that lol
  13. "This is being addressed" - yeah - deleted! lol
  14. Had a Bluefin map on my old Focus ST (5cyl) and it was faultless.
  15. FCSD were a tad miffed that it went on to FordPass before the parts were available for the FSA and letters had gone out. Expect that's why it's been removed from FordPass now. When the supply chain gets it's act together and parts are available I expect it to go back on the App and letters will go out (probably in manufactured order) to effected owners to book their cars in. Only when a dealer gets a letter will they probably be able to order the "kit" so as to not let one dealer order loads and slow the FSA chronological order up. That's how my logical brain figures it out but as it's Ford, it could be completely different lol
