Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. 6 seater RS?

Not quite so much in the RS with it's high boot floor and "lions feet" welded to the sides even if you do take the boot foams out:
  2. Not sure where I'd put the seatbelt though
  3. RS owners watch this immediately

The Mustang HG might be fitted and the head material might be porous. That's what the FSA is addressing by replacing the HG in all cases and Head if it fails a pressure test. No big shakes IMO. Car has 5 year warranty and if it goes pop I'll get it fixed. Old news.
  4. Cleaning / Detailing

I find the key to getting a product to work on the frankly crap Ford rubber window surrounds and any other black (non tyre) finish is to make sure they're completely free of anything before you apply your chosen product. Preparation is the key as it is to all detailing. That's where a decent clean with Isopropyl Alcohol will work wonders. Gtechniq C1/5 is great for a semi permanent solution on rubbers, but Auto Finesse Revive does a great job too. I find Carpro P.E.R.L. a nice finish on tyres if you want a satin finish rather than the generic glossy one.
  5. Fiesta Ecoboost Parts Up-For-Grabs

Hi, I'll have the induction and secondary pipes of you please? (I'd have had all of it if Thanasis hadn't got in first - well played!) Not too far from Oxon for a weekend / Friday afternoon collection.
  6. It's just taken off the app until stock is available. At that point letters will go out. It's still on ETIS but Ford don't acknowledge that regular punters can access that lol
  7. "This is being addressed" - yeah - deleted! lol
  8. Had a Bluefin map on my old Focus ST (5cyl) and it was faultless.
  9. FCSD were a tad miffed that it went on to FordPass before the parts were available for the FSA and letters had gone out. Expect that's why it's been removed from FordPass now. When the supply chain gets it's act together and parts are available I expect it to go back on the App and letters will go out (probably in manufactured order) to effected owners to book their cars in. Only when a dealer gets a letter will they probably be able to order the "kit" so as to not let one dealer order loads and slow the FSA chronological order up. That's how my logical brain figures it out but as it's Ford, it could be completely different lol
  10. Philf1's Nitrous Blue Focus RS

The Mustang doesn't do it because it has a different head gasket that's designed to work differently with a different head. The RS gasket and head cooling system is completely different. (When fitted correctly together) The 5 hour porosity test as part of the Field Service Action will determine if the alloy composition is out of tolerance and if it needs replacing. The FSA is now live on ETIS so expect to be notified in due course. Personally I'm going to wait a while until the Tech's at my Dealers have done a few before doing mine!

No problem in hijacking dansallis But to flesh it out a bit more with the eco button - from the manual: I've not noticed any difference pressing the Eco button as I've only just pressed it! Just completed 3 full tanks driving smoothly and economically to and from work without Eco button pushed and have averaged 50.4mpg (calculated) over those full tanks. I've now pressed the Eco button and will do another 3 full tanks on the same commute (and same grade of petrol from the same Shell station) to make a direct comparison. It did feel a bit more sluggish this morning but I've only done 35 miles so far with the Eco button pushed. Will update when I have some comparable data.

Gotta wait until parking pilot has a fit and goes red! lol

Got around to giving him a quick bath: A quick bit of pre-wash whilst I get the pressure washer and buckets ready: Didn't take much to get the shine back - there's a bit of tar and a little bit of fallout but I'll give it a full detox when the weather is warmer than 3 deg C. There's a couple of stone chips but nothing unexpected in a year old car. No paint defects, dents or scuffs which is good. Really enjoying the drive with it's remarkable 1.0t engine that has quite a bit of torque low down. It's nice and relaxing when you want to be but has a mini rumble when you put your foot down.

Well the Fiesta replaced an A2 Tdi that regularly got 60+ mpg but I much prefer the quietness of the petrol Fiesta :) I hopped in my RS for the first time in weeks and after driving the Fiesta solid for a fortnight and boy did it seem even more fun than I remember! lol

Had both cars briefly on the drive at the same time yesterday - the colours are similar in one angle and different in another. Will have to wait and see what they're like when they're both clean and next to each other properly:
