      it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. 57 Plate Diesel Focus - Loss Of Power

    if I'm not mistaken there is a differential pressure switch with 2 hoses that attach to the dpf filter before filter and after, check you have the hoses the right way round. If they are check the pressure switch, my 1.6 tdci lost an injector which led to the dpf blocking and that resulted in a blown pressure switch and a new dpf. Hope this helps?
  2. Noise In Aux Belt Area

    have you had the timing belt done recently, or does the housing look distorted? had a similar noise on the wifes car which was the housing rubbing on the timing belt edge.
  3. Diesel Injector

    if you do remove the injector be carefull to remove and replace the copper washer at the base. It doesnt always come out with the injector, I used a piece of copper wire to hook it out. The injector wont need recoding. Also make sure you grip the link nut with another spanner so as to not spin this out as this will effect the calibration. As with all injector/fuel repairs make sure you clean around the area first and cover all inlets and outlets to avoid contamination. Just had a similar issue with the wifes focus caused by egr cleaner and a leaky seal which I ended up changing all 4 injectors and having to recode them to the PCM!
  4. Well this car is really bugging me now, had to recode the injectors that failed and IDS reported that the PCM had an update. So went into new module instead of update (error) :o . Update began with an erase and then stopped. Unable to update the PCM just gives an error message. I have disconnected the battery to try to reboot my question is....has anyone else had this issue? and how did you resolve it?
  5. Momentary Loss Of Power Intermittently

    has the pollen filter been changed recently? The fuse box located in front of the pollen filter needs to be removed or at least flipped forward, is there a chance that the multi plugs attached to the back are loose/ not clipped down properly?
  6. Injectors Cleaning?

    Wynns gets the vote from me, but go to the wynns website as they recommend a combination of 2 items. I used the egr3 for the dry intake and diesel clean3 for the fuel addative. worked well on mine and also helped with the DPF filter cleanup too.

    if you look in your vehicle handbook it has a section on programming a second key, something about turning the ignition on and off so many times in 6 seconds then pressing a button on the new key.
  8. 2007 2.0 Tdci Lack Of Power Going Up Hill

    Hi all I just wanted to post an update to this problem. Problem is now solved following a Friday afternoon "im gonna get to the bottom of this or die trying" Having better light in the day rather than working with a torch I had a good check over the work I had done and found nothing other than a small patch of oil around the joint on the inlet manifold coupling. Looking closer I noticed what looked like a hose nipple moulding. Now this is located above and to the right of the oil filter housing. So i had a look to see if there were any hoses adrift and viola there it was a small hose lay down below. I put the hose back on and took the car for a run...wey hey ....my rocket ship is back! Im not sure what the hose is for but i am glad i found it. I will take a photo later and upload it so if anyone has a similar problem. Cheers Phil
  9. Dashboard Compartment

    same thing was wrong with mine, you dont need to take out the speedo! I used some wide plastic strips (puncture repair levers from my kids bike) you can prise out the whole plastic carefully from the dash, I found the instructions on a website (honest johns) and bought a new lid from Ford (£35 ish) and the job took about 10mins to do. Hardest part was getting the spring back in the correct way, that was after carefully and patiently prising the clips from the dash.

    Ok....update....I have the good old engine management light coming on now so got some fault codes. Injector came up a coupke of times but now has stopped. The other is turbo boost performance. As the injector is about £150 and has to be programmed and the turbo is a few hundred quid I decided to try a cheaper option. In my garage I had a part can of wynns egr3 so thought what the heck cheapest option first. This line of thought had been brought about from talking to a mechanic who suggested that the egr might be jammed open/closed. So followed the instructions on the can and gave it a shot until I ran out. The car did what they said it would (knocked a bit and revs altered) so I gave it 5 mins to settle then put the filter box back in cicuit. I took it for a run and well to say there was an improvement was an understatement. It was definately better, not back to best but better. As it was a part can I have ordered some more to give it a real good cleaning...lets hope it sorts it out, I will post more after I give it another go!

    I had a similar problem with the wifes car key which turned out to be a worn out switch button. It was a simple fix with a soldering iron and the switches cost about £3 of ebay.

    Thanks guy's, I will be under the car at the weekend so will have a look into the loose pipe. Maf....thats easier to try on the way home tonight. Filter...I'm beginning to wonder if these new cartridge paper filters are worth it? whatever happened to the good old metal housed filters? much simpler!
  13. Can anyone offer any suggestions to my problem? I recently changed the filters on my Focus 2.0 tdci 2006 to try to get rid of the power loss that sometimes happened under hard acceleration. All was fine until the dreaded restart when bleeding the fuel through, anyway having turned the engine over...and over to finally read the haynes manual (note to self read first) i decided to use my workshop vacuum cleaner to help....worked well and managed to get the car started again much to my relief! Took it for a run only to find a complete lack of power under acceleration. I have checked the diagnostic to find injector 2 problem and turbo boost problem (both have reset) and car does pull a bit better but is just gutless on the hills....its just like there is no boost...but going downhill its fine and on the level fine too. I had the alternator changed yesterday (piggy is well raided) as this had the whineing problem and the whineing has now gone from the engine bay and has now moved to the passenger seat! (when she is in he car with me ) anyway after the work the car seemed fine electrically anyway but last night the engine management light came on and when checked showed a turbo boost problem. I don't want to just change the turbo if it is something simple like a pressure sensor so if anyone has a suggestion I'm all ears? Also can anyone recommend a good diesel specialist in the Gloucester area as I think I may need more support on this car!!!
  14. Focus Whine And Ignition Light On

    I had the same noise on my focus 2.0 tdci until this morning....I say had....the noise has now stopped...as well as the alternator! Just waiting to pick the car up following repair from Halfords, would you believe the local Ford dealer couldn't even look at it until Friday! Next job....repairing the sump drain plug as some numpty had installed the wrong sump plug and cross threaded it!
