Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Reversing camera

Hi, Looking at the wiring diagrams in my Haynes manual 6407 for my model Fiesta it looks like the large grey connector on the LH side is C410. This has 14 wires and my car has all 14 connected on one side but only 11 black on the other. The Haynes manual diagrams are incomplete as they do not cover the heated rear window circuit. The pin number colours and circuits are as follows. 1 YE OG, BCM to Tailgate act. 2 WH BU, Tailgate act to light. 3 BU GY, BCM to Rear Wiper. 4 GN WH, BCM to Tailgate act. 5YE BK, Tailgate to Earth. 6 BU GY? 7 BR YE? 8 BR BU, BCM to Tailgate act. 9 BK BU, Camera to earth. 10 GN, Fuse 42 camera supply. 11 BU YE, BCM to Camera. 12 VT GN, BCM to Tailgate Handle. 13 BU, BCM to Rear Wiper. 14 VT BK, Rear wiper to Earth. So from this I have to assume that the heated rear window circuit is on pin 6 and 7. I may check this out in the future. The rear Camera is on connections 9, 10 & 11 and as I don’t have these black wires going from C410 I would have to make the up and install them myself. I do have the factory fit front & rear parking sensors complete with the MFD High TFT 4.2 inch colour screen. I haven’t taken this out yet to see what connectors are on it. That is for another day.
  2. Help needed! Fuse box air bag.

Look in the owners hand book. It lists the position and ratting of the fuses
  3. 2013 1.0l Ecoboost engine rust. Problem?

Hi, This is apparently the layout of the current Ecoboost engine. Lot of changes to cooling system apart from the header tank the turbo hoses have opposite heat shielding and an additional heat shield over the exhaust. I wonder if these could be incorporated onto our older ecoboost engines?
  4. USB not supported

Have a look at this post Does your screen look like the one in the post? If so follow the instructions to reset and verify version
  5. USB not supported

Depending on which version of sync you have, Yes I would carry out a master reset and reinstall devices. Nothing too loose.
  6. 1.0 Ecoboost Rear Disc Upgrade

On the subject of the hand brake ratchet this is copied from the Fiesta owners manual Page 116 in mine. All Vehicles Note: Do not press the release button while pulling the lever up. To apply the parking brake: 1. Press the foot brake pedal firmly. 2. Pull the parking brake lever up to its fullest extent. To release the parking brake: 1. Press the brake pedal firmly. 2. Pull the lever up slightly. 3. Press the release button and push the lever down. 116
  7. Mk7 Heated Windscreen washer jets

Hi, Yes I think you are correct. I am trying to make it more complicated than necessary. I straight feed from an ignition live would fine. The 'Ignition overload relay' is in the circuit for the Focus. The Focus forum has a complete set of wiring diagrams available to down load. I found these very useful when I had a Focus.
  8. Mk7 Heated Windscreen washer jets

I have contacted Ford Tech services to try to get a wiring diagram of the Heated Rear Windscreen for my 2014 Fiesta. No joy. I have to subscribe to Etis. Not sure how much this is but as this is possibly the only time I would use it, it hardly seems worth it. I am a bit miffed as after paying a considerable amount for the car the support from Ford is dire.
  9. Ford Fiesta Front Wipers Timing

Halfords. Bought it a few years ago, it's been sitting in my garage waiting for this moment.
  10. Ford Fiesta Front Wipers Timing

I had this issue with my Fiesta. Simply fitted a NRV (check Valve) in the hose under the bonnet. Instant wash.
  11. Hi, I am intending to install heated windscreen wash jets in my 14 plate Fiesta Titanium Keyless ignition. I have the jets and loom from a 59 plate Focus. On the Focus the heaters are on all the time the engine is running and the supply is taken from the ignition overload relay R8 and shares a fuse with the wash pump. I would like to do something similar but only have them on when the heated rear window is on. I bought the new Haynes Manual (6407) for my car but the heated rear window circuit isn’t in it and I can’t see anything like an ignition overload relay. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the ignition and heated rear window circuits? Thanks.
  12. mk4 heater control valve???

Had this a few years ago on a 51 plate 1.25. Found it was a bad earth.
  13. When I saw this post I had a look at mine. Same problem. Contacted Ford Main agent in Exeter (Vospers) as still in warranty , just. Very quickly booked in and hose replaced under warranty. The heat shield looks different and is better finished at the ends. Good service from Vospers.
  14. Hi, I have just replaced my 59 plate Focus for a 14 plate Fiesta. In the Focus forum there is a very useful post called Focus electrical Schematic. This gave as a PDF all the electrical schematics for the various models. Does anyone on the Fiesta forum have something similar? I found it very interesting and useful.
  15. Hi, The path to find the software ver on my DAB radio is Turn radio on, press menu, scroll to SYNC Settings, press enter, system info and it should be there. It was different before I changed the module and updated the software but the principle was the same. I think the screen you need to look for is called VMCU. Look at my earlier post for a pre software update screen.
