      it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. My Mondeo diesel (1997 Mk3, TDCI 130ps with 95k mls) is very lumpy and struggles a lot at first daily start up. It struggles for the first few minutes but then it's fine after a very short while of driving. Is it normal or might it need some maintenance do you think ?
  2. Speedo Switch

    I recently bought a '97 Mk3 Mondeo which was imported into Ireland from the UK. In Ireland all the road speed limit signs etc. are in Kmh while the speedo in the Mondeo is in Mph. Obviously the speedo also reads Kph in the smaller dial, but I wondered if it was possible to change the readout for a Kph dial. The car I had before had the Kph readout and I had become accustomed to it. Anyone know if changing the dial (as opposed to the entire panel) is a possibility ?

  5. It's written in black marker under the bonnet of the Mondeo diesel I bought last week.
  6. Open The Bonnet ??

    Seems to be a fairly common problem alright. I finally got the bonnet open. I found that if I wiggle the key in the lock while turning it left the bonnet popped up, and then turning it right was no problem. Maybe through wear and tear the mechanism is a little "loose" but now I know the trick. Thanks again all for your help !

  8. Open The Bonnet ??

    It's the mk3. I do have a second key but what I think I'll do is spray some wd40 in the key hole and try to angle the straw in around the mechanism as well. Then in a while I'll give it another go. At the moment I can just about feel the torsional tension in the key when I'm turning it, that's how much measured force I'm using and I thought it couldn't be right. Thanks for the reply ;)
  9. Open The Bonnet ??

    Hi all, Last week I became a Ford owner for the first time. I finally read the manual and learnt how to open the bonnet using the key to open it behind the front badge. So the manual said turn the key left and pop the bonnet up a bit. Then turn it right and open it up. When I turn the key left, nothing happens. I try to pop the bonnet using reasonable force both on the key and the bonnet itself but it doesn't budge. How much force should I be applying when I turn the key ? I'm afraid the key will snap off. Maybe it needs some oil or something ?
