Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hi, I am just looking for any advice please. I have a 2013 Titanium with low profile tyres 205/40/17 or 18 I think. I have had the car for 2 years and am getting fed up with the uncomfortable ride. If I were to change wheels, does anyone know what would be the best/correct wheels size to have. I know it involves the speedo etc but that's where my knowledge ends!! thanks
  2. Can anyone explain to me what this is about width and offset? So it looks like 195\50\16 should be OK?
  3. Thanks Willy! I didn't think of looking at the original specifications. I suppose my other question is... I have some sort of pack on the car, a sport pack or street pack or something - it has a little spoiler at the back and a lower front bumper than a standard titanium - I assume because the car has bigger wheels, they won't have altered any of the suspension etc? Will it look stupid - will there be a gap between the wheel arch and the smaller wheel. I suppose its only an inch. Also, what do you think about whether it will make enough of a difference to make the hassle worth it? That's a bit subjective I guess, but just wondered if anyone has any experience of either/both wheel size thanks
  4. Any advice? I have had issues with tramlining on my 205/17/40 tyres on my new ecoboost. Just checked them re pressure and they were set to 45 all round. By the garage. The manual says 33 and 26. So its not just a bit different, its way out. Even for full loading its not as high as 45. Is there any reason they would have done that?
  5. Fiesta Dress Up Kit

Have already mentioned this in a separate thread - but its bugging me and so wanted to see what others thought. The dress up kit on the 2013 Fiesta has large spoiler, side skirts, sport front and rear bumpers and according to the Ford Price List - a sport grille. I downloaded a PDF of the new price list from Ford's website just now. Some of the online brokers adding this on state it has a sport grille, but Fords own configurator doesn't mention it. As Willy pointed out the brochure doesn't mention it - but the Fiesta price list from Jan 2013 states the dress up kit includes a sport grille. the new price list effective from 01/04/2013 still states the dress up kit includes sport grille. Surely if they had changed the spec, which they can do, and hence it not appearing in the brochure or configurator they shouldn't still spec it in the new price list? Has anyone had the dress up kit with anything other than the standard grille (I did read somewhere on here all it means is the surround of the front grille is black, not the grille itself?) Any thoughts? I have contacted Ford - is it worth questioning - I noted the Zetec S folk got their pedals sorted.
  6. New Fiesta - Safety Recall?

My race red ecoboost has a rear bumper recall on etis. Anybody know any more?
  7. New Car Tomorrow!

Hi aneres, looks just like mine! Exactly the same. Except mine is a 5 door. So not quite the same! Will you post if you have any issues with tramlining? I am having a bit of a mare with the car feeling quite unsteady on uneven surfaces.
  8. just been out for the first time today on a proper run with my car. Fiesta titanium ecoboost. Its now done 900 miles but most were short journeys. Today is the first time I have been anywhere I can get some speed up. Every time I go over a bump or pothole or where the road has been patched, so driving over the join, the steering seems to act as if the steering wheel has been turned sharply to one side and it feels not quite in control. Anybody else noticed anything? I have 17 inch wheels.
  9. New Fiesta Ecoboost Steering

rolling diameter? oh god I hope this isn't going to get complicated
  10. New Fiesta Ecoboost Steering

maybe not...seems I can't post in the for sale section???
  11. New Fiesta Ecoboost Steering

thanks bigmunkynutz. What size of tyres are on your car? I had 195..think it was 55 16 on my old car. Would I just be able to change the wheels and tyres over or would I need to do anything more complicated - no idea about this!!! Let's post them and see what happens...
  12. New Fiesta Ecoboost Steering

thanks for the replies - I had a 2010 1.6tdci with 16 inch wheels and never had anything like this. I first noticed it when I had to cross the white centre lines on the road and drive along them it was like driving on ice. I think it might be the wheel size, profile etc. I guess its not going to improve I guess I just need to decide if I can get used to it - I just find it really tiring on a long journey to have to look out for every bit of road that might cause a problem. Do you think I would have any luck selling the wheels and tyres - to swap for a smaller diameter? I didn't "choose" the wheels - the car was already built and had them on. I asked on here and a few people did say the wheels might impair the ride, the dealer however said I wouldn't notice any difference. They would though....
  13. is my radio display meant to look like this? When its off, as in when you turn the ignition off or switch it off with the engine running there are lots of little rectangles. Only when it finally switches off completely does the screen go black. Its like that thing when you press on a laptop screen and it goes funny. Not explaining this very well! All I know is it looks horrible.
  14. Fiesta Dress Up Kit

anybody else have any thoughts on this - still waiting to hear from Ford CS - went and had a sneaky peek at the car last night - was meant to get it today but its not going to have its predelivery inspection till tomorrow - normal grille
  15. Hello everybody, just bought a Fiesta Titanium 1.0 100PS Ecoboost in Race Red with dress up kit, leather pack and 17 inch wheels. £13960 - someone tell me its an ok deal!! Slightly nervous about the wheels as I understand 15 inch make the car feel better. Dealer said its not enough so's you will notice - suspect that might be a lie??? Anyway, got a Fiesta 2010 Titanium at the minute - also red, and looking forward to another. Had a test drive of the Zetec Ecoboost and was impressed. Should get it next Tuesday.
  16. Fiesta Dress Up Kit

Has anybody queried this with their dealer/ford??
  17. Fiesta Dress Up Kit

Hi dave, yep I did think that, but the new price list starting today which i downloaded from ford, dated as effective from 1st April 2013 still has it listed, as have the previous two. Seems a bit weird that they haven't updated three price lists to reflect the change?
  18. Fiesta Dress Up Kit

It seems that's what people are getting. Just not sure why the price list says otherwise and every price list has said the same??
  19. 2013 Fiesta Arriving 1St March!

Willy, you are right about the brochure - just checked. But the various online brokers state the dress up kit has a sports grille, as does Fords Price list dated 28th January. From the price list....... Pack Details City Pack Rear Parking Distance Sensor and Electric/Heated Power-Foldable Door Mirrors with Puddle Lamps Driver Assistance Pack Active City Stop, Rear Parking Distance Sensor and Electric/Heated Power-Foldable Door Mirrors with Puddle Lamps (only available with 1.0 petrol or diesel engines) Full Dress Up Kit Large Rear Spoiler, Side Skirts, Sport Front and Rear bumpers, Sport Grille ST Style Pack 17" Alloys Painted Rado Grey, Illuminated Scuff Plates and Red Brake Callipers. Have also mailed Ford CS - worth pursuing do you think - the disclaimer says they reserve the right to change specs....obviously
  20. 2013 Fiesta Arriving 1St March!

Thanks willy. I wonder why the descriptions all say sports grille then?. Knew it wasn't a zetec s but thought there might have been some difference.
  21. 2013 Fiesta Arriving 1St March!

Stupid question. The Ford chat about the dress up kit says it comes with a sports grille. What's the difference between that and a normal one? Getting the car on Wednesday!
  22. Ok. He said he would show me their parts price list, so not sure if he wants to charge me the retail cost or just the trade price. He doesn't seem to want to make money from it, am i being naive? He just said he didn't think it would be this side of £100 so maybe he will be nice to me!
  23. I did. It was him who said he would get all the bits it needs and fit it when they prep my car. He said they will fit it themselves. I just need to pay for the parts, so just trying to work out how much roughly as he wasnt sure of exact cost. I assume he would know if it was going to needjust a paint job.
  24. Thanks Emzy. Did you get a coloured casing or did you need to paint it?
  25. also, then if I buy one say from Ebay, I need to pay for fitting ,so it might not work out much different? Sorry, this is all new to me.
