Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Bonjourno!

Hello Guys & Girls, My name is Tom, and I'm a Fez Mk5 owner! I've had my baby since I passed over 2 years ago now, surprised I haven't signed up earlier to be honest. I'm from Romford, London (not Essex!), and studying Product Design at Bournemouth University. I'll be starting my placement year in June working in Hornchurch too. I may be looking at upgrading at some point, as my insurance has shot right down and I feel I can do better than the unefficient 1.3 "thing" under my bonnet. Mk 1.5 Focus perhaps? Diesel? Who know's, we'll see... Look forward to getting involved! Tom.
  2. Hi People, I'm having a problem with my Mk5 Fez, and was wondering if I could get any advice from you FOCers! ;) I have the "wonderful" 1.3 Endura-E engine first and foremost, which means the wonderful 8v of tappets! Anyway, the car is holding a constant high (approx 2000 - 2500) rpm on idle, and increasing further every time I push the clutch down. I'm pretty sure it's an idle control valve issue, as I've seen from my research that this is a pretty common problem. I DC'd the valve along with the black plastic bracket behind, gave them both a spray and wipe over with WD40; but to no avail. I've got a pretty strong feeling that it's to do with some kind of loose connection. I've had this problem before well over a year ago, the last time I changed the oil (I know, I should do it more often!). More to the point, it was the last time I took the oil cap off (the one with the two breather pipes, in yellow on the link). I don't know how that could have affected the idle control valve, but it's too much of a coincidence that the last time this happened was the last time I pulled that cap off. http://www.askthemechanic.co.uk/images/Ford%20KA%20idle%20control%20valve.jpg Thanks in advance for any help! Tom. :)
