Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. 1.6 Tdci Downpipe

As anyone seen any where that sells a downpipe for the 1.6 TDCI (MK2.5)??? I'd like to remove the DPF without cutting out the back and re-welding.
  2. He's already put in a complaint saying item not as described...
  3. thanks. I know the radio was 100% before sending. He says he has been on holiday (has flight tickets to prove, he says) and has just bought removal tools (has halfrauds receipt to prove, he says). Probably realises he bought the wrong radio, or seen the price of the replacement facias.
  4. I upgraded to a Sony H/U in my 2008 Focus, so I sold my factory 6000 CD on eBay, the item is below. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271209085940?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649 Almost a month later, the guy has said he has finally got around to fitting it, and the cd player doesn't work. I know it was sent working. This message has come through almost a month after I posted the item out, so I am loathed to believe it was faulty on arrival. After a couple of messages, he says he was waiting for some radio keys to remove his old radio, and that's why it wasn't fitted sooner. Now my question is, if this guy needed radio removal tools to remove his original radio, would this radio fit? I think he has bought the wrong unit, and has changed his mind. I have 100% positive feedback, and I know the radio was 100% perfect working condition before sending it out.
  5. 1.6L Duratec-16V Ti-Vct

I've been quoted anywhere between £350 and £550 to remove the DPF, remap and activate cruise control (already fitted the steering wheel). The remap should give around 145bhp with the DPF removed. The test for a diesel only measures smoke, which the car should pass. Most methods for removal of the DPF involve smashing out the innards of the DPF, so it looks intact on visual inspection.

Oh, in that case, none of the 1.8's do. Personally, I think the 1.6 is the better engine. The 90bhp are usually non-DPF, the 109 are more common with DPF.
  7. So, earlier this year a cat ran out in front of me on a B-road on a bend, so no way could I have missed it. It smashed the bottom of my bumper, and the radiator shields. I didn't realise until a couple of months later when doing the oil change, that the intercooler had come apart slightly from the connecter, and there was a covering of oil on the undertray, and around the remains of the radiator shield. Anyway, today I found time to strip the car back enough to access the intercooler and see if I can clean it all off, and see what damage has been done. It's worth noting, I have never noticed the engine use any significant amount of oil. I have had the car from 30k miles, at 3 years old. I had a check around the turbo and the inlet, and the crank case breather pipe, and there is a good coating of oil in the breather pipe, the turbo inlet and the turbo housing itself. Has anyone carried out any mods to the PCV, either a replacement, updated part or an oil catch can? Here's a pic of the oil leak, I guess 100% caused by the impact of the poor kitty.

Why not go for the diesel and have the DPF removed once the warranty is done? I've just bought a Mazda 3 MPS (as a second car, still got the Focus) and the earlier cars have a reputation for failing VVT. Replacement parts are about £300 from the US, plus fitting. Mazda we doing replacements for about £800 at one point.
  9. My mum has just been quoted £1400 for a replacement motor for her roof mechanism on her 2006 Focus CC. Now the information above is vary vague, but the fault has been communicated to myself by text message from my Mum. Any pointers on any fixes for the CC roof?
  10. "twang" Like Noise After Pulling Off Mk2.5

Have this noise myself, always feared it was a drive shaft, suspension or steering rack so I avoided taking it to the mechanics! Thanks for the info!
  11. Brought A Couple Of Things :)

Thanks to the OP for this thread. I was not aware of Polly until now!
  12. I paid £40 for a steering wheel with cruise buttons
  13. My Focus

Thanks for the pics. I can't work out if I like the bonnet lip - I think it would look better if its was the same width as the upper grillle.
  14. Best Driving Roads

I used to love the A57 Snake Pass when I had my transit. Last couple of times in the Focus, I have been unlucky to get stuck behind 'grandpa' and had too much oncoming traffic.
  15. Turbo Gone On 2006 1.6Tdci Focus

You should replace the oil feed if you swap the turbo, I posted a link to eBay in the other recent poat about turbo issues. just search for 1.6 tdci oil feed, its £100.
