Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. New Dvd Satnav Unit Fitted (Pics)

Sorry, I meant it came from Hong Kong store name was eonon Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  2. New Dvd Satnav Unit Fitted (Pics)

I got it from their eBay store (HK delivery). I can't honestly remember how much the import duty was (it was over a year ago), but HMRC website has a calculator to see what it will cost. It's up to the seller what value they declare on the customs declaration (which is where the customs charges are calculated from)... Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

You can see the install from the above pics. I'd recommend getting the silver version, it looks more factory than my black one. One of the photos shows the (garish) user interface on the radio. What isn't shown is the reversing camera and tyre pressure monitoring systems, but they're there! Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  4. New Dvd Satnav Unit Fitted (Pics)

I'd recommend it, yes. Overall worth the money, definitely! It just runs windows CE6, so any software for that will work. If you got hunting on the web, you can "buy" Tomtom, Primo, or any number of other GPS software solutions for navigation. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

I have this one, it's quite good. The sat NAV works well, I've downloaded a copy of Navigo Primo which is excellent. There are some issues with the eonon: Doesn't support usb wifi or bluetooth dongles, so can't get traffic updates. Occasionally crashes (especially when using NAV and SD card MP3). Steering wheel buttons are backwards for skipping tracks. RDS name only displays in a tiny part of the screen, frequency is the main display (and also to the instrument cluster display). Talking of radio, reception strength is pretty awful. User interface is quite cheap looking. Having said all that, there are plenty of plus points: Audio quality is really quite good, much better than factory. Optional TPMS add on works brilliantly! Loads of functionality, especially for the money. Hands free calling and A2DP streaming works well. GPS signal seems strong. Excellent factory look. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

That is close, it looks like it might be a careful job with a Dremel on the existing surround? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

Do you have a photo of the radio and the hole? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  8. Central Locking Issues From Key Button

I had a similar problem, fixed it yesterday. Try fuse F21 in the central fuse box (under glovebox), it's a 5A and is located halfway up on the left (nearside) Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  9. Has anyone else tried any of these units?
  10. Ok, i've done a little research on google it looks like the steering heel controls are connected between pins 11 and 12 on the ford (car-side) connector IF your connector looks like this (the left part): You can test this with a multimeter across these two pins set to measure resistance. You should see approk 5k Ohm with no buttons pressed, and it should reduce as you press the steering wheel buttons. Unfortunately, I can't find a manual for your head unit to see what the pinout is. But my suggestion would be to check that there are wires in the mating sockets for the pins 11 and 12 on the ford side? Is your radio connector a Quadlock? In which case it would be between pins 6 and 8 on connector B
  11. Hi there, I'm new to the forum and came across this thread and I was wondering if you had any feedback/comments on this unit? Is it the D5161 unit? What's the UI like, and the sound quality? Has anyone tried the Dynavin model? As for your question, 255/255 certainly sounds like the sensing wire is either disconnected or connected directly to a 12V line (255 being the maximum value for an 8bit ADC. I'll do some more research today to try and find the correct pinout for the multiplug on the Focus. Thanks, Ross
