Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Yeah lots of WD-40 an got the adjusters Unseized and sorted :) was a lot easier than I expected lol This really does sound like a ball ache -.- Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  2. Right so managed to unseize the adjusters :) just the rest to figure out now Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  3. TBH I haven't checked the spring, but they've only recently been changed......so it had better not be that! with the last one, where the ball joint (i think) goes into the bottom of the hub, the hub had worn and wasn't sitting snug, so hump and bumps etc were causing it to know due to the excessive play. regarding the bumper, I think i'm gonna have to get it jacked up, and have a proper look. I'll do that when I sort the adjusters on the rear. Its gonna need to be on stands anyway so that I can look at the other side.....still not 100% on doing the adjusters yet, as quite frankly never done drums before. if I drill the rivets out will I have to re-riveted them back in? or would the bolts be sufficient? never heard of them being riveted on before and seems somewhate retarded -.-
  4. There is a knocking, same as what I had before..... I'm assuming that its the hub again. (clearly) not a mechanic, but makes sense. Just found one for £40 delivered second hand, but not sure if its worth buying second hand again......however new looking at other models i'll be looking at ~£160 :( Bumper has pis$ed me off, as i'm almost 100% certain its riveted......no idea what to do there.
  5. Cheers mate, looked on that fordpartsuk, I'm looking at £70........would second hand be ok for a part like that? is it fairly easy todo? Any idea on the nsf hub? (they aren't on the FPUK site?) now I know which specific type of car I maybe able to find some more info on the bumper or a video Though it looks though its rivited: - https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071227104002AAKZ9aS
  6. Hi all, first thing first.......My car what mark is it? (one in the picture). Rear brakes: right so what I assume is the self adjuster in the rear offside drum has come off. It looks in pretty bad nick and probably needs replacing. a ) any idea where I would get one from? b )it looks like it'd be fairly easy to fix....... but not sure if all the shoes need to come off etc? any one know of any tutorials? Rear bumper: anyone got any idea how to take this off? from what I can see online it maybe riveted on. Essentially i've had a bump and could really do with removing the bumper to put it back together to put it back on.... but if its rivited thats gonna be a pain in the ar$e as I cant re-rivet it back on. Also the hub on the front nearside wheel is knocking, this is the second one i've had though the replacement was second hand. any idea where I could get a new one from, if it would be worth getting a new one instead of another second hand one and how much it'd cost. cheers all
  7. Mk5 52 Plate 1.4 Tdci Rear Bumper

Anyone? Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  8. 1.4 Tdci Mpg?

i get hugely higher, ~55mpg is that around town, do you change gears often? anything that leads you to believe that theres a mechanical fault other than the mpg
  9. Rust

would removing the liner help? what do they actually do? also.....do you know much about the rear bumper: - http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/54381-mk5-52-plate-14-tdci-rear-bumper/
  10. Rust

I'm rubbing down the arches on the fiesta, going to treat them and then "under coat" them this weekend hopefully. Obviously I'm going to clean and rub down the arches to get rid of much surface rust as possible. Should I use any kind of "cleaner" to degrease the arches prior to priming them? or will a good rub down, clean, rinse and dry be sufficient. In my experience, fiestas have been horrendous for rusty arches. so wanna get on top of this befor it spirals lol.
  11. Hi All, Does anyone know if my bumper is going to be riveted on? If it does have rivets and If I drill out the rivets am I going to be looking at inviting rust in? and will it need to be re-riveted to re-attach? thanks

  13. Radio Code

1.4 52 plate tdci Is there any easy way to get the radio code for my car. Or an easier way to get to the "M" number on the back without removing the entire fascia ? Cheers all Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  14. Ford Fiesta 1.4Tdci 52 Plate

  15. My alternator has gone, the bearing is rattling like a goodun so I need to get another one sorted. I have found this one: - http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/alternator/ford-fiesta-v-jh-jd-1-4-tdci-68hp_v16102_g4.html This is the cheapest I can see, but it states that it has no rev counter contacts.....tbh not entirely sure what this means? can anyone suggest another place, or let me know if this is something that I should be worried about? Cheers Bowsa
