Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Leonard, Thanks for your detailed reply, its been a very long time ( +15 years ) since I've had to do this sort of thing and didn't know that fuse taps existed and they look ideal. So I have a mini fuse tap on order and will do exactly what you suggest and create an additional cigar socket that I'll use for the sat nav. I checked the fuse box and there a number of empty slots due to my vehicle not having all the features, will these empty socket have connectors that will enable me to use one or are they just empty. Any suggestions as to the best fuse to use would be helpful. One thing that I was thinking about is the TomTom mount that Ford now supply, for this to work there must be a way to wire this into the existing wiring loom, see this http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20111010005942/en/TomTom-Partners-Ford-Offering-Semi-Integrated-Navigation-Europe
  2. I'm trying to find a location or way to permanently wire my sat nav into my 2013 Focus Zetec 1.6 Tdi, initially I thought I could connect to the cigar lighter but this appears to be a permanent 12v feed, I need a feed that's linked to the ignition. Can any one recommend alternative locations, I do not want to splice the existing wiring loom, I'm happy to make suitable connecting wires. Thanks
