Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Water Leaking Into Passenger Footwell

Pretty confident (well, the carpet is back in, anyway) that my bunch of mods have sorted. Hope it helps
  2. Water Leaking Into Passenger Footwell

Ok I *think* its sorted! Sealed as before, and also think that 1 leak was coming in through the courtesy-light switch - the roof rubber seal stops just above, and there was definitely water getting in to the A pillar. What I DID do though was install a Damp-Proof course!: I made a small hole in the sealing bungs in the floor pans, so if water does get in, it has somewhere to go. the carpet though should be kept dry. Lets see how we get on in the winter!
  3. Untitled Album

  4. I've started the as another thread to the general water leaks, though it may be the same thing - I'm getting a water leak in through the A Pillar probably a bit higher up than the door wiring connector. Anyone any idea where this could come from? Thanks
  5. Water Leaking Into Passenger Footwell

For what its worth, currently driving round like this: so, I've sealed with silicone here:Left Bulkhead: Right bulkhead: and replaced the heater box gasket: have replaced the bung & fixed another here: but I can still find a leak inside here: So remaining is to seal up the cable grommet. Note the amp power lead for my stereo which added to the leak :(
  6. Water Leaking Into Passenger Footwell

Ps also discovered that the wet in the rear foot wells was running through the channels under the seat crossmember. Have siliconed those too to check
  7. Rear Suspension Knock

I've a knock on each rear side if I run that wheel over a pothole. I can't be sure if it's as the wheel rises, or drops. Any suggestion what to look at? Cheers
  8. Water Leaking Into Passenger Footwell

Bit of progress: The sill hole previously identified has a 'bung' on the passenger side, so mine was missing. I siliconed a replacement in & this has sorted the drivers leak! The passenger leak is either the bulkhead, or the large cable grommet. I've siliconed these so will advise. Having to drive around with no dashboard to test! By the way, does anyone know what the small black 'bags of sponge' are, tucked inside the base of the A pillars? Seems designed to hold water against the metal. Cheers
  9. Water Leaking Into Passenger Footwell

    Yes - they're more like a Ford Fishtank ;)
  10. Water Leaking Into Passenger Footwell

If you can, would you be able to have Ford identify the position of the leak fix so we can try our own bodges? Cheers
  11. Water Leaking Into Passenger Footwell

Thanks. Its a useful tip. I'm definitely getting water coming 'up' though - it only happens when driving
  12. Water Leaking Into Passenger Footwell

Resurrecting an old topic, I've checked and sealed the bulkhead, but am getting a leak from the sill hole just behind the door pillar: am I safe blocking this up, or even filling the sill with foam? I don't have a sunroof btw - I found it while I was washing out the wheel arches with a hose. Cheers
  13. Guide: Mk6/6.5 Manual To Electric Window Conversion

Well that was easy! (Your experience may differ wildly - Ed.) Connected up the replacement door loom to the door socket temporarily, plugged in winder & switch & it worked!: video: I think that as I had electric locks anyway, that all the main car loom was the same. Hope you have the same luck!
  14. Guide: Mk6/6.5 Manual To Electric Window Conversion

Many thanks - I've obtained the door loom so can test the electrics before I mount in the door. Will update the threads for others once I find out. Cheers
  15. Guide: Mk6/6.5 Manual To Electric Window Conversion

Fiesta newbie here - is it similar procedure for MkIV? Are there any changes to the main car wiring? Thanks
