Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Happy Birthday mount66!

  2. New Fiesta USB problem

Did you resolve the problem, as I have the same issue on a 2013 model
  3. USB on new Fiesta

How difficult a job is it to remove the trim, I have just bought a 2013 1.5 TDCi Zetec and the USB port is damaged, and was wondering about removing trim so I can get to the socket and cable to try and replace or repair
  4. Any Bikers?

I find it a great bike, looks sporty but has the touring more upright riding position. I have to admit it is not my main mode of transport, it's basically my fun ride for the weekends when the weather is nice. I have done a few 300 mile rides and was pleasantly surprised at how I felt after getting home at the end of the day, but then everybody is different.
  5. Problems New Fiesta

Yeah, the USB socket appears to be damaged. The four metal contacts are exposed and the little plastic bit that is normally in the socket resides in the little trinket tray next to all the inputs. Not sure if this was already done or if I have caused it. It should be a simple fix with a new socket, I just don't want to mess up the plastic by diving in with a blade trying to prise out the face plate. Anyone had any experience in this. I've managed to set up the audio via Bluetooth on my phone, iPod touch and even my iPad. It's not the end of the world, but I do like to be able to use all the toys :) As to the Hill start assist, I knew it was on there, but didn't think it was enabled. Thirty years of driving, hill starts are instinctive now, managed to work it out in the end, but I think I'll end up de-activating it anyway.

  8. Any Bikers?

These new bike license are a real downer for new riders these days, but it does make sense if it's saving lives. Back in the day it only consisted of a spin around the block, both clockwise and anticlockwise, couple of questions and passed, allowing you to get your butt on anything that you desired.
  9. Any Bikers?

I'll try uploading one when I get home.
  10. Any Bikers?

Yep, another biker here. Only passed my test in 2009, so wife reckons it was my midlife crisis. I currently ride a Suzuki GSFX 650 on a 11 plate from new, prior to that it had an '07 GSF650
  11. Problems New Fiesta

Still finding my way around the car, I only picked it up on Friday. I traded in a '08 1.4TDCi Fiesta for this and was avraging 60mpg, so hope to get a better return. Hope all your problems have now been resolved and I don't get to see any. One question I have is regarding the USB port, have you made use of it yet or had any problems?
  12. Usb Port Connectivity

The problem with returning it is that the dealer I bought it from is Motorpoint the Nationwide Car Supermarkt. I was warned to thoroughly check the car from top to bottom, because any issues after taking the car awayy will be referred back to the manufacturers, and the usb ports wasn't exactly at the top of my list. Like I said, if it's a simple fix I would rather do it myself, if Ford were to take it back I bet it wouldn't be a 5 minute job with them either, and I can do without losing the car for a day or two.
  13. Usb Port Connectivity

I've recently bought a 2013 6month old Fiesta 1.5 TDCI Zetec My issue is with the USB socket next to the 12V socket and 3.5mm line in jack. When I insert a USB stick it reports no USB device connected. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the actual socket is damaged, all 4 contacts are revealed and one is bent, the small piece of plastic that ensured the plug can only go in one way is missing, actually it is in the little trinket tray surrounding the inputs. Question?, is it a major job to replace this socket myself, it seems pointless to return to a main dealer for a trivial job, if it is just that. I know the line-in jack and Bluetooth are available and work perfectly well, but I guess I'm a bit of a nerd, if it is there I want to be working and able to use it :)
  14. Problems New Fiesta

Hey Bootsy, your post caught my attention this morning, as I have also just bought the same car, not new, but of the same age, March '13. Mine only has just over 3000 mile. I'll be following your posts, to be sure to look out for similar problems. So far I've no concerns. What interested me was the statement you made early on in the post. You mention that you'd be doing 25k a year in the near future, yet you bought the Fiesta on a 12K limit PCP.
