Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hi from Ireland

  2. Things I Don't Like

Sounds like the owner is a relative of....Richard Turpentine...cant use the abbreveation for Richard..somebody's deemed it a no go..hence the Edit... This is something i dont like and totally ruins my origina....rant over.. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  3. Automatic transmission problems?

As above...more tempermental than a manual if the oil is old...my mate has a 05 petrol ghia with the 4 speed box..not the 5 tronic...had its believed its second oil change last winter at about 70k miles...runs smoothly and responsive..hope you sort it out...ps 4 speed apparently more durable than the 5 tronic ? 4. Show us your Mondeo

  5. Mondeo Mk3 2.5 V6 2002

Im needing to replace the sump gasket on my mk3...thats it...you would know if it was a broken ring...dont think it would sound too good...ive not heard of this line before...i know ST mk3 petrols are driven hard, and sump gaskets are replaced and no more misting..they have two cats..if they are okay and breathers too then... I have the one cat on my 3.0 v6..that is fine..also had ALL vacums and hard to get at breather replaced 1500 miles back..little bit of mist been like that since before..and after..is miniscule so not too worried, but will get done at fords when time allows... Try another garage fella.... Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  6. Did you fit the new clutch etc..yourself or a garage...what gearbox oil have you used...i believe the fluid ford use in the mk4+ mk5 gearbox is meant to be better than the oil used in the mk3.... Mine gets a bit stiff..but only on very cold winter mornings..hasnt had a gearbox oil change yet.. I preffered the gearbox on my old mk2 v6..5 speed with single mass..never got the wrong shift..but 6 speed on my ghia x.. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

Sorry for not getting back sooner,i hope your hernia has gone back home.. My grandad was a carpenter during the 20"s up to the 50's..he had to wear a special belt come his hernias, when he reached the ourbreak of ww2...but hated it and did his best not to wear the damm thing... Before going to his medical to pass fitness for his next voyage, he would go into the gents public loos...opposite the dock board building and put his hernias.."he had two" both opposite under the belt...and then pop his 'false teeth' in....to get the all clear...ships were'nt allowed to set sail without their Chippy. 10. My Faithful mk3...

Ps...the esp cost £1245..at fords.. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  11. Never has she left me at the side of road, apart from six months after ownership the esp completely vanished.. Just left me with an old skool style brake system ..no abs no skid help and some tyre squeel when being enthusiastic...it was during 2010 summer so no icey roundabouts..which previously the esp had corrected twice not long after buying her in november 09...No issuses since...had the plugs and all the vacum pipes done at 52k, also treated her to some nice 18in tit x alloys (mk3)...goodyear sportmaxx allround, good in the wet too..also had new m-tec drilled and grilled... (would like 320 discs of an st foccy)..although i cant fault the stoppers i know my kindred brothers with the flagship 3.0st like to have a bit more Stop power...you crazy guys... Not sure if anyone on the forum is running one of these old beasties.. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

  13. Long absence appologies..

Hello fellas.....were to begin.... Firstly sorry about my aabsence, my life took a change for the 'not to good' almost 18 months ago...but glad to say it looks like I will be firing on all ccylinders come the end of spring.....I'm not ggoing to bore you with the details? My Black 3 litre mk3 has given me sterlingservice the past 8-9 years..and hopefully will keep up its good reputation..with only 53k showing it was bought with 38k miles sshowing back in 09 .Ido have use of other motors on occasion ..believe me when Isay Iwill never ever sell her or 'get rid'... The mk3 is now becoming like the mk2..a dying breed...sad....but I'm going to try and wave the flag for all mk3 owners. there not going to make these excellent motors no more...the mk3 is plenty mod enough for me...I don't care about its age...she is still as good as the day iItravelled down to BBuckinghamshire from Cheshire to hand over 5 and a half grand for a spotless 4 year old 3 litre ghia x ...no TV screens just a nice sSony CD radio... Anyhow gentlemen I've so missed the banter and general good of the folks and also the moderators on this great forum.. Blessing to you all....V6 Lover..
  14. Spot The Poor Vauxhall!

I still like the overall styling of the older veccy b in particular the way the wing mirrors are sculptured..and in gsi form with leather recaros that have adjustable thigh support...I'm 6'3 (wish my mondy had these..)..just a pitty they don't go around corners or roundabouts or anything with curves and deviations.......errr....very well at all..... I live near Ellesmere port so I'm pretty de-sensitized to the whole range of woefull abominations that Vauxhalls are!!shamefully allowed to trundle around, lowering the tone wherever they go...blah blah. 15. ST 170 Alloys

Sounds like they've had a nice thick coating of paint...I hate the way 17 and 18 Ford alloys corrode... the 15 in alloys that came on my 52 foccy though seemed invulnerable... It had like hairpin spokes...check it out... Sent from my Z220 using Tapatalk
