Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  2. Puma Thunder Rear Axel Bush

There are only 2 bushes on the rear. 1 each side. I have changed no end of them in fiestas, pumas and ka, They just need to be pressed or knocked back in. I tend to put loads of grease on them and knock them in with a big hammer and a bit of wood so the don't get damaged. But like I said the easiest way to re fit them is fit polyurethane ones. They don't need any pressing at all. You just put two bushes in and a crush tube through the middle and jobs done Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  3. Puma Thunder Rear Axel Bush

Hi there. The hardest part is knocking the old ones out. I dropped the beam out of the mounts and knocked a chisel between the bush and the beam. It gets about half way down and pushes the bush out. It's a pain pushing the new ones in without damaging them if you don't gave the tool to do it. best way round that is fit polly ones. About £35 of eBay takes 5 mins to them. Hope it helps Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  4. Ford Puma Idle And Rev Hanging

Hi I had the sort of same thing with my 1.7 track car. I thought it was the map it was running as it develops 147bhp at the wheels, but it turned out to be the vehicle speed sensor. Now it only stays a little high if the front wheels are off the floor and the engines running, soon as I put the brakes on its fine and drops to 850rpm Done know if this helps Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  5. To be honest with you I am only doing it because I have always wanted to build a twin engined car. I have had a few inprezas and as much as they are fast they don't give that grrrr factor. I like the idea of running it fwd, rwd or 4wd. I will be able to play with power balance through the ecu mapping so should work fine. As for mot,,,,,, I am a tester so no, no problems lol But on a proper note the bias don't come into the test. It's only effort. And as it's so light the car is well over braked. The an is to have it at ford fair at silverstone and get some track time so I am praying on it working out well Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  6. Twin Engined Puma

Am in the middle of fitting a second engine in the rear of my puma and wanted to know if anyone knows if this has been done before? Front engine is currently running 150bhp at the wheels and rear one will be doing the same. Am aiming for combined power of 300bhp and all under 1000 kg Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  7. Twin Engined Puma

That's what I am planning lol it's a quick car now and real fun to drive. Makes a few people unhappy when it's on the track, Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  8. Car. 1.7 puma Year. 1998 Mods. It's a road legal track car so Hear we go Wi tec coil overs Upper and lower strut braces Upper rear strut brace 5 degree negative camber kit fitted to front wheels 300mm front brakes 254 mm rear brakes Adjustable bias valves 30 mm rear hub spacers Stainless steel 4 branch manifold 2 1/4 inch stainless steel exhaust system Had 3kg taken of the flywheel Has a bespoke inlet manifold Remap taking it to 150bhp at the wheels Fully stripped and lightened shell ( the car compleat with full tank of fuel is 740kgs) Half roll cage Racing seats and belts All this results in it being able to lap Bedford auto drone quicker than a Porsche boxster and the same time as a vx220 Am currently fitting a second engine in the rear so should make it more fun on the track Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  9. Sounds like a fault with the clutch pressure plate. I have had it with some after market clutches I have fitted. I have also come across the same problem but have got to the bottom of it by back bleeding the slave cylinder Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  10. Mondeo 2.5T Bluefin

The cars I use are road legal ( well, sort of lol ) and the fuel economy is a little worse but nothing to worry about as long as they are driven sensibly. But as a man it's in our DNA to boot it isn't it. Long and short of it bud is they are good. Drive it sensibly it's cool Drive it hard and it's fun But more expensive Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
  11. Mondeo 2.5T Bluefin

Hi I use the bluefin in two ford pumas I use as track cars. With the mods the cars had already the bluefin gave it another 22 bhp. And as they only weigh 740 kg it makes a real difference On the down side the fuel to run the car for the day went from £80 to £120 which is bad considering they do about 200 miles in the day lol But,,,,is it with it???? Yes With the bluefin they will pull up to 130 mph the same rate as a vauxhall vx220 Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
