Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. My Focus TDCI

These are photo's of my 2009 Focus 1.6 TDCI [110]. The first lot are form the advert from before I bought the car, it's now had a wash and I took better photos of it. The car has a few small issues but is an otherwise fantastic motor.

Hi Doug, I would love to go for it unfortunately I haven't the cash or space for it at the moment as I'm commited to my focus now and my computer is in dire need of a new graphics card, as such I must ask if anybody wants the diesel specific parts as they must go before the end of summer I need the space. Unfortunately the realities of my situation have forced me to come to this :(
  3. Car Tax

The new rules do not have that flex in them if there is no paperwork for the vehicle or the buyer/seller doesn't have trade plates then the car cannot be driven by the new owner until they have taxed it, the vehicle must be trailered away and stored on private land if that is the case until the log book arrives for the new owner. Edit: If the above is not done the vehicle can legally be taken by the police at the time and crushed when the logbook/new keeper suppliment cannot be produced.
  4. Car Tax

I bought my focus the first week of december last year under the new rules which came in october 1st and the new owner has to tax the vehicle before they can bring it home. there are three ways to tax a car currently: 1. Post Office (check the local openning times) 2. DVLA Telephone (mon-fri only) 3. DVLA Online via home computer or moblie internet any day or time I bought my car on a sunday and used my mobile phone to tax the car all I needed was the reg number, the code off the new keeper suppliment (should be 11 digits) and my bank card details. The process took me around five/ten minutes on a 3G connection.

Doug thanks it's got a few nigly bit's needing doing but sofar touch wood it's been trouble free and pleasnt to drive and that is a very, very nice sounding and looking car I am impressed had I had the chance I'd have had the red estate looking that good. Nudge it's probably a good idea to send it to have the bodywork done to have another decade of daily driving out of it :)

Doug that is simply fabulous everytime I see the pictures I do miss mine but I've now gone and bought a 2009 focus with the 1.6 tdci http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/64750-59-focus-zetec-16-tdci/#entry435183
  7. 59 Focus Zetec 1.6 Tdci

Hey guys thought I'd come join after getting used to my new car. I've bought a 2009 59 plate Focus Zetec Estate 1.6 TDCI [110] and have got to say that so far I'm loving the driving experience with it so far. I had it cheap as it is a fairly high milage car for the year (ex lease) so it does have a couple of niggly bits wrong with it that I can get sorted at my own pace but doesn't affect the driving of the car. There is one thing i'd ask your advice about and that is the sat nav unit built into the car, the map software works but it doesn't pick up any GPS signal whatsoever and i was wondering if anybody has had the same issue. It's not an immediate problem as i have a tomtom anyway and the update prices for the unit are crazy but i am curious as to what it could be. These are the advert photos I'll upload my photos of the car once it's had a wash :)

Hi both Combi Doug and nudge both own a 1.6D on this thread and i've had two myself

Awesome I look forward to seeing and hearing the the clips when you upload them incidentally the server I used is perfect for to upload the audio once you've digitized the recording, I know what you mean about it being strange about hearing a sound that has been dead for years when I listened to them it hit me after not hearing that engine for so long. Don't worry about the parts since they are unique lol I'll hold them for you if you want them, as for the other bits I'm not worried lol they'll sell but it's getting around to it as part of the reason it's taken so long is sentimentality and the other part is probably not wanting to admit I'll not have another one either that or I'm just lazy lol but they've all got to go.

hmm interesting looking at the photo I'd say the image is early 90's lol which I find very interesting for an article that's not that old
  12. Mk4 Escort 1.6D

two escorts christ how old is the picture itself?
  13. Mk4 Escort 1.6D

Glad to hear It passed :) hopefully the solution to the pre-heat is simple electrics are never fun lol. It's a shame you can't have all the parts however if you want them I can offer the diesel specific parts; the water hose, vac pumps, exhaust front pipe and speedo's for £160 I'll even throw in a fuel tank I have lying around collecting dust and both Haynes manuals I have, one of which is specifically about the 1.6 and 1.8 diesel engines.
  14. Mk4 Escort 1.6D

Unfortunately after Juggling figures I've come to a decision if either of you guys are interested I am offering the entire lot of parts up for £500, they are worth more than that if I sell them separately but I simply don't have the time PM me are interested in having them.

Really that low? couldn't have gone for it as my pc had decided around then that I needed new peripherals and a backup mouse decided to blow my board costing me in total £480 (running this thing is expensive lol). Ouch it really didn't win that fight and only 4 years old at the time? >.< my sympathies. I do have audio recordings somewhere of the engine running from both inside and outside the car if i can remember where they were stored >.< fingers crossed your car passes it's test would be nice to know that another one is running the roads :) I'm waiting to find out how much money I've got coming my way at the end of the month which will enable me to look for another car so i can't really say what my price range will be yet but I may end up going for something like an 07 Fiesta 1.6TDCI if I can't find one (Escort lol) when I'm ready as those things are only £30 a year tax Incidentally I Just remembered something the red estate or as i still call her KDF was actually at the Donnington ford meet in 2008 if anybody went parked in the carpark at the time but she drew a lot of attention lol as they tend to
