Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Hello -

Did you ever get this issue sorted?

I have the EXACT same problem

  2. Fiesta Locking Issue

Thanks for the reply. Yes the interior light stays on. I've disconnected and WD40'd the connector pins in the door hinge and WD40'd the door lock itself. But that's the extent of it. I'll try and take it elsewhere. Thanks
  3. Fiesta Locking Issue

Hi All, Rather an annoying problem with '56 1.4 Fiesta Zetec - hopefully someone can give me a bit of help. A few months ago, someone would get it in my front passenger seat and close the door but my dash would occasionally still say 'passenger door open'. Opening the door and closing it again would solve the problem. Unfortunately this problem has got progressively worse (at one point it must have taken 100 attempts at opening and closing the door before the car was satisfied that it was shut!) Now the car constantly thinks the passenger door is open. I just have 'Passenger Door Open' and a warning light on the dash the whole time. The problem that this causes is that I cannot lock the car with the fob - when I try and lock it, the car will lock and then instantly unlock. If I try and lock the car with the key, the same thing happens, the car will lock and then force itself to unlock again. To get around the problem, I've been able to take out the central locking fuse and only then have I been able to lock the car with the key. The problem with that though is that when the fuse is not in, all my indicators go at around triple the speed that they should do. So for any journey longer than a few minutes, I basically have to get in the car, put the fuse in, drive to my destination, pull the fuse out, lock the car manually... rinse and repeat. Annoying. I presume the car will fail the MOT with this issue. I have taken it to a garage but they basically said it could be a million and one things and it would just be a process of elimination but that it would be costly as you could end up replacing all the locking mechanisms etc and then all the electrics. Any suggestions? Thanks
  4. 56 Plate Fiesta Stereo Replacement

Yes, it's a Pioneer. I think I was wrong - I do in fact need to the regular ISO to Din converter - think the Fakra connections are for the newer Sony CD6000. Thanks - will do. One other question, my Corsa steering controls allowed me to adjust volume, change from radio/iphone and skip tracks/stations of my Pioneer. I'm tempted to add the stalk controls to my fiesta and then buy the following: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250951115764 but would this likely give me full functionality and would it mean I'd lose the odometer, mpg readings etc? Although reading that, it does mention the fakra connection again and there appears to be two variations - one with ignition wires, and one without. How would I know which I need? Cheers.
  5. Hi All, Looking to replace the OEM CD6000 stereo on my 56 plate Fiesta (facelift model so double din rather than the triple dash). I'm going to use the stereo out of my old Corsa, but a bit unsure on what type of aerial adapter I need as there seems to be of conflicting info on ebay re. descriptions etc. This is the one I'm looking at: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-FIESTA-2005-TO-2008-BLACK-SINGLE-or-DOUBLE-DIN-FITTING-KIT-ADAPTOR-FASCIA-/360799727778?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item540156f0a2#shId But is the PC5-100 aerial adapter definitely correct (fakra conversion) rather than the little ISO to Din converter? EDIT: Is there anyway to find out the stereo code for the OEM before I remove it? Nothing noted down in the manuals. Thanks
