Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  2. Avalon Paint

The only place you need, is www.paints4u it comes with the lacquer already mixed in, it comes in a 30 ml pot with a brush. I have had a pot for each of the last 5 cars I have had.
  3. Winter Tyres For St / Zetec S

I phoned Aviva, who both our cars are insured with, they said thanks for letting us know, there is no increase in premium. It's always best to let them know, stops them trying to get out of a claim.
  4. Winter Tyres For St / Zetec S

Have a look here mate, www.tyreleader.co.uk This is where I got mine from, they do alloys as well as steel wheels on a winter tyre package. They are a German firm, but you get free delivery, I got mine within 48 hours.
  5. Winter Tyres For St / Zetec S

The Nokians were recommended by my colleagues in Germany, they are a Finnish brand, so they know about driving in winter.
  6. Winter Tyres For St / Zetec S

Hi, I can speak with experience on the issue of winter tyres. I have had Continental winter tyres on the family Mondeo Titanium X Sport for 3 years. The difference in driving during the winter, not only in snow is like night and day. The tyres are 235/40/18 and I have them on a spare set of alloys. They are superior in every way, when the temperature is less than 5 degrees. I have just bought a set of Nokian DS3's on steel wheels to go on our Fiesta, now normally like yours it runs on 205/40/17. I have bought 15" wheels with 195/55/15 tyres, this keeps the rolling radius the same so the speedo will still be accurate. Thinner is definitely better with winter tyres, have a look at rally cars running on snow and you will see what I mean. I got the brand new wheels and tyres for less than £320 from Germany and that included free postage and delivery in 2 days. The tyres were manufactured 6 weeks ago and are date stamped. A couple of pictures for you.
