  1. Yes only supporters can see the link. the website needs updating somewhere for people to know this has happened rather than looking like a tool in the shop!!
  2. Unless you can only see that link as a supporter. I am happy to pay for supporter status again but wanted to ensure I wasn't going to have the same issue. Really ought to be a bit clearer, as when I looked at premium membership it still mentions the discount card and no hint they old cars are no longer valid.
  3. Errm am I missing something here? I can't see the link you are referring to even a search brings up a thousand results but not the one I want. Confused, although surprised this thread resurrect has gone unanswered by board staff given that the forum premium members pay to help the site as I did for several years.
  4. Been to swap my snow foam gun that was faulty. And the manager woman I spoke to tried scanning the card and their system indeed asks for a voucher code to apply the discount. She showed me on the screen that it asks for a voucher code. So confused at the moment until someone can confirm if this is now an issue and we need some other way to use the discount. I was a premium member for several years and never had any issues using my discount card in the past.
  5. Should add never had issues before even thigh I often had to tell staff how to use it and work out the discount for them. But as I haven't been on here for a long time didn't really question it.
  6. I assume the Halford's guy who said I needed to use an app to get a new discount code as the card no longer works was talking out of his orifice. Gave me 10% discount in the end and was supposed to email a receipt along with a 5 quid voucher which incidentally never came through. I can't see anything on here that states the discount card has been changed. Can someone confirm please he was talking ***** so I know for future ref.
  7. Whether in a rigid or a unit and trailer I always take the easiest option to get around an obstacle. If it was a tight squeeze to the left then going right is the only option. I was taught to straighten the curves out as much as possible, so in the night when it's quiet and safe to do so I use the whole of the lanes on roundabouts etc as long as it is safe to do so. Looking at the photo with a trailer then a wide berth to turn left would be a must anyway, and in rigid's with the turning circle of a supertanker would be taking it wide as well. Taking all the road you need is a must when driving large vehicles as it is all part of forward planning.
  8. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252917043994 Even cheaper although I may have paid less than 30 quid for mine, just seemed to ring a bell. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  9. Buy a new hose off eBay, cheaper than the Ford part and will have working clips, they are easily damaged though. Think I paid around 30 quid for the replacement air intake hose with the breather hose attached. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  10. Yeah, I get that, but when you estimate there were roughly 28.5 million licenced cars on the road in the UK in the third quarter of 2015, 28.5 million £2's is quite some money.
  11. No crazier than the pointless MOT to be fair. An MOT means diddly squat and has always been a revenue maker for the Government. It would be far better probably if the system was scrapped and a proper system was introduced to make sure cars are roadworthy. Whether a car is tested after 1 year from new or 10 years it still doesn't mean that vehicle is safe to be on the road after driving out the MOT test centre. The MOT test is a farce and always has been. Even more so with newer cars everything is covered by some piece of plastic so testers can't even check a lot of critical stuff these days of them can't see it. Get rid of the MOT and replace it with something more robust and fit for purpose. Simples. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  12. No the wheel is on the right hand side in one of the pictures with the tyre off the rim, it was further up behind the car and the driver has moved it. The driver I guess late 20's. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  13. Looks like he has gone into the verge either by or in the process of loosing a wheel. hit the hedge and bounced up and landed on the front corner. But the car is at an odd angle, so either something underneath it is sitting on or it's well and truly knackered. Have blurred out faces and signs and number plates for obvious reasons.
  14. I wish I was half as cool as him at 50. Guy has got better with time in my opinion, there are some legends who have got so much netter with time.
  15. Not much help I know but UK Mail is now owned by DHL. Drop it hide it lose it, whether that will make the company better or worse who knows.
  16. Well I have one and have caught some interesting stuff and not so interesting stuff. However since I started driving C+E trucks I have calmed down even more as a driver especially with being scored on telematics at work and being part of the driver development program we have to do being the Smith's course. I have learnt that often rushing around gets you nowhere in reality and with points can't afford anymore. Lately I have had people doing crazy overtakes and crazy speeds to get past me one quite dangerous if anything came the other way. Then there are the dawdlers that get in everyone's way, the any lane joggers that just seem oblivious to the world around them whilst driving. The people who overtake at break neck speed coming up to the 200 yards merge in roadworks just to get past a truck or car to then get a whole 5 secs up the road because other vehicles are in front. It's took me a long time to realise this is all futile and gains you naff all. But with the amount of dash cameras these days it's so easy to be caught doing something stupid or reckless and yet people still drive like nutters. We see websites devoted to camera clips and people are enticed to share footage with these sites or the police and people have been convicted from footage alone of an event. Now normally I would stick with sod it, it's not business and they will get caught soon enough. However I'm having a different line of thought, it's about time bad driving was made as anti social as drink or drug driving etc. It's the only way to get some people to change their habits, and it adds more police presence in effect as from footage really bad drivers could be taken off the road. I see how bad the standard of driving has gotten in the 21 years I have been driving and at times during my driving career mine has been as bad especially when I was younger with regard to speed but as for being aware of other vehicles and general good driving habits I.e yawned correct lanes etc. I do 1000 miles a month in my own car and probably anywhere between 500-1000 miles a week on average at work currently and I have driven for nearly all of my jobs. So maybe I just see more than my fair share of bad driving. It's really becoming a bigger problem more so with people's life being more hectic as well. So should bad driving become socially unacceptable the same as drink driving etc and would it make much of a difference if this was the case? Discuss..... Bit long winded but hope you got to the end. 17. Just had a thought. You have a MK3 Elmconfig won't work with the MK3 you need FoCCCus ecru edit to change options on the car. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  18. Elmconfig is also a useful tool for messing about with turning options on and off or tinkering with other stuff. Between those programs there reply isn't much you can't do with a decent modified interface. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  19. Tunnelrat devices seem to be touted the most as most reliable but it does seem to be pot luck whichever seller you go to for getting a good one that works well. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  20. Forscan and a modified ELM 327 device will do pretty much everything Ford IDS will do. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  21. Yes it's a Ford tractor grill by the looks of it. One on eBay for 45 quid by googling that part number. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  22. Did I say anything about being heroes of the road? No. Trucks have been around as long as cars, they pay more fuel and road tax than other vehicles, the industry is constantly struggling because of fuel costs etc, causing cheaper labour to be required to do the job which results in more muppets getting jobs driving a 44 ton killing machine. Not to mention all the extra costs now involved in running trucks like the "protect idiot cyclists" costs to have trucks adapted to go into London cause some brain dead idiot thinks it is a good idea to cycle down the inside of a 44 ton truck and then wonder why they get squashed and need scraping up off the floor. My point is the media portrays trucks as a massive inconvenience to all and encourages this trucks should not be allowed to do x y z and places all of the blame on trucks or truck drivers in 99% of cases, sometimes yes it is the truck design or driver error or stupidity that causes these things but not always. If people who actually think along the lines of the article had any idea what it is like to drive such a vehicle they might have a tad more thought about the situation. If we slow trucks down even more every minute lost means less drops getting done, that means higher wages for longer runs to the driver, the truck earns less so the additional cost is passed on to the manufacturer who increases the cost to you. Stuff gets dearer and takes longer to get delivered and stock can run out quicker, It's simple supply and demand. As I stated there are a lot of Richard Heads that drive everything from a push bike to airplanes and everything else in between. And yes there are some very bad truck drivers out there too. It's a no win situation but everyone wants their say and opinion on these matters when often they have no clue how things will affect the people/businesses involved. But it's OK, if a truck journey takes 5 minutes longer it's fine, after all they are not regulated and governed by strict rules on what they can and can't do, A few minutes here and there can be the difference between getting the job done and home or nighting out, again more cost when a truck nights out for no good reason. We are always against strict time regulations but car drivers are not they can have all the time in the world to get somewhere, we don't have that luxury so sometimes a few minutes does make the difference. But it's OK we just keep on blaming it on the trucks or buses or taxi's or cyclists etc instead of dealing with the real problems, poor standard of driving, lane hogging, driving too slowly, being completely ignorant to others on the road etc etc Solve a lot of the issues with lane hoggers and people driving too slowly/badly and in most places the traffic would flow a lot better, but until people learn to use the capacity of the roads properly it will never happen. The speed limit for trucks was upped to 50 on a single carriageway road from 40? Why? To stop idiots overtaking dangerously and at break neck speeds on blind bends etc, again this was done to protect car drivers from themselves as the risk of accidents with trucks at a higher speed versus the risk of cars overtaking dangerously and causing accidents is an acceptable risk and that decision would not have been taken lightly. People are in too much of a rush all the time and that is what causes the aggression on the roads, the hold ups and bad standard of driving most of the time.
  23. It's such a shame you were held up for a short while. How inconsiderate of the truck driver. These things don't work they are not enforced and will only be peak times anyway. Why are you so aggrieved by being held up by a truck for a short while. Elephant racing will always happen as a lot of drivers don't know when to back off and let a faster truck past sadly in all driving types there are muppets. So what happens when a truck is at the section which is under ban and Mr or Mrs myopic or Mr frugal trying to eek an extra 2mpg out of there car is now holding a truck up? What about the car drivers that fly past trucks and then cut in and brake hard in front of a 44ton truck to get off the slip road. There is far too much hatred towards trucks in general but no one complains when they can buy the new car or iPhone or do the weekly shopping. Make trucks journeys take even longer than they already do and watch your favourite shops running out of stock more often. It boils my ***** in this country everything is a truck drivers fault here just because of the minority of Muppet's that granted licences. Maybe we should also ban vehicles travelling at too slow speeds as well? Or the car drivers that drive on a smart motorway in lanes that have a red x above them undertaking everyone else that is obeying the rules, after all a red x doesn't mean anything does it, and you can't be prosecuted for driving in a lane with a red x can you. In fact I'm just going to go now before this turns into even more of a rant. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
  24. Considering Peugeot closed both the Coventry factories a good number of years ago both the Vauxhall plants will go also. They just won't keep them in the UK long term. Heard a discussion about it saying not likely short term but long term most likely. It will be just another nail in the coffin of the UK car industry. Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
