Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. induction

I have the mountune airbox with cold air feed in the bottom in my Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost. It is also tuned to about 150hp/250nm. I think there is a noticeable difference compared to stock. The turbo and engine revs faster and turbo lag is also reduced. I wouldn't be without it. I have had the KN filter installed for a year now, and I have no problems with oil from the filter affecting the MAF.
  2. April 2014, 47.000 km, no issues :)
  3. Problems retrofitiing Sony stereo with DAB

Thanks Jimbo I spoke to my Ford mechanic who said that it couldn't be fitted to a car without Sync? So I actually ended up selling the unit, which is really sad as I liked it very much. Especially the how much better it made the original Ford speakers sound.
  4. Hi guys So I bought this used Sony stereo with DAB to replace the standard boring Ford stereo. But of course I have run into a couple problems. Which I hoped you guys might help me with. The car is an Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost from April 2014. The car is born without DAB and SYNC functionality. On the pictures I have attached you can see that the standard Ford unit has some sort of advanced USB input. The new Sony unit has a larger "multi-input" of some sort. I tried to connect the unit without the weird USB thing and of course the USB in the car didn't work anymore and the Ford Ecomode is also "grayed" out when browsing through the Sony units menu. How do I get back the USB functionality and Ford Ecomode in the menu? Do I need some kind of adapter to solve this? Second problem can be seen on the third picture. The new and bigger screen is pretty exposed and needs some kind of frame I guess. How do I solve this? Thanks in advance guys.
  5. Brakes service

I a very pleased with the TRW disks and pads that I have just installed yesterday. Braking is definitely improved. Quality seems very good. The disks are painted black to prevent corrosion. Pads are made in a way so that they perform very good right off the bat with very little break in time. Reading around on other forums it seems like people only have good things to say about TRW brakes. It also seems like they are OEM suppliers to some of the bigger car brands.
  6. 64 / 43.000km. No problems so far. Knock on wood.
  7. Ford Fiesta Suspension noise

I am part of the squeaky-suspension club too.. 2014 Fiesta 1.0. Last winter the dealer lubricated some parts in the back from where the noise came from.. after a couple of days the noise disappeared fully. But this winter it is back again. I don't know what parts they lubricated, but it seems to have worked for around half a year until it came back.
  8. Retrofit Cc And Esp Button On Facelifted Fiesta

Hi guys Also from Denmark here. I'm sure it can be done on these facelifted models (2013+). Not that long ago.. like half a year ago.. Ford dealers here in Denmark had an offer where they would retrofit original cruice control for the sum of 3.300 DKR. I kinda regret not jumping the wagon with the cruice control offer back then. So all in all, I am pretty sure you only have to ask the right workshop.
  9. Modifying Fiesta Std. 1.0 Airbox

Cheers mate, much appreciatet.. I will have a look at it.
  10. Modifying Fiesta Std. 1.0 Airbox

Okay, that way. It already feels more smooths than the original ford map, so I can't imagine that it will improve even more. Although if it does, I won't complain. Also just ordered myself a primary and secondary induction hose in blue from something called MTC Motorsports on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/262775131778?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT . Their prices seems very fair, and it seems like it is the same hoses that pumaspeed uses for their stage 3 induction kit http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/product-Fiesta-10-Ecoboost-Stage-3-Full-Induction-Kit_16822.jsp . Awesome! Other than the temperature drop, did you notice any power increase? Oh yes I would have loved to see the photos of it all :)
  11. Modifying Fiesta Std. 1.0 Airbox

I don't think that aluminum vs plastic will make such a big difference. Mountunestore writes as follows: "The air box has been engineered with features that reduce the delta pressure drop by 1.5kPa when combined with the mountune high flow panel filter, and a further 0.5kPa improvement when mated with the mountune high flow silicone induction hose." It seems more likely that the pressuredrop is due to the filter and the induction hose than the box itself. But I kinda feel like im moving more away from the DIY airbox and more towards the ST200 airbox. It would be nice if Sico-Developments had a sale in january. Oh and a little side note.. I got the handheld tune device thing (Utune 2) today from Chiptuning.nu and installed the new tune. What a difference it made! Its like a whole different engine. Other than the extra raw power, the motor also ran smoother when driving and also when idling actually. It also drives more economically now if I don't floor it. Im very satisfied so far! The guy who made the tune file said that it would be even better once the car got use to the tune. Does anyone know how that works?
  12. Modifying Fiesta Std. 1.0 Airbox

Thank for the pic Will. Althoug I thought it would be more flat at the bottom :( But basically if one did add a cold intake hose I guess it would function just as well as the Mountune or ST200 airbox I guess?
  13. Hi all I was wondering if it is possible to add a cold air intake hose to bottom of the std. 1.0 ecoobost airbox.. like the Mountune one. I found that demon tweeks have all the parts I reckon would be needed for it for under 40£. I have added a screenshot of the parts. Of course this is depending on how the std. airbox actually looks. Does anyone have any pics of the std airbox? And have anyone tried adding the extra intake? Cheers and merry christmas all.
  14. Fiesta zetec S with bluefin ?

Cheers Will.. I will be going down the ST200 aibox route shortly. I will be applying a map from a danish tuning company in a couple of days. They claim it should give me around 150hp and 240-250nm. I'm very much looking forward to this christmas present from me to me :D
  15. Fiesta zetec S with bluefin ?

Did you notice any difference when adding the induction hoses? I am thinking about getting the ST200 Airbox + k&n panel filter. The ST200 airbox has a second cold air intake in the bottom like the Mountune one. Its suppose to fit the 1.0. To get the best of it, I would also thinking of upgrading the induction hoses too.
