A bit of a silly air con question

Air con will only work with an ambient temperature above 4’c – Maximum cooling is down 20’c on ambient or 4’c whichever comes first.

Shell V-Power, is it any good?

I used it for over a year in my 2013 Focus and I got 0.5mpg less with the V. Power, there was no noticeable difference in the noise. Last December I changed car to a 2017 Focus and I've just used regular (non supermarket) diesel. IMO not worth the extra cost.

Active city stop - anyone tested?

The system only operates below about 19 mph, hence the name 'City Stop'

Active city stop - anyone tested?

I wasn't sure if mine was working so I tested it. I tied an old number plate to a pole. Had the other half to hold it out in front of the car with the instruction if I didn't stop pull it out of the way before I hit it. I drove forward down our drive at about 5 mph and it worked. Tried it a second time and it worked again. Result.

Does your 3.5 run on rails or a jelly

Glad it worked for you turning the PDC off. I found the same when mine was turned off. I would recommend it to everyone.

Everybody has their reason this is mine

Have you read my thread "Does your 3.5 run on rails or a jelly?" (Its on the first page) I don't like like the electric power steering. So I had the dealers turn off the Pull Drift Compensation and now the car is soooooo much better. I'm not sure the power steering is the same on yours as it is on the MK3 and 3.5 but may be worth finding out.

Just what don't you like about it?

Does your 3.5 run on rails or a jelly

Will they charge you Alex? One thing I found before having it turned off was if you're doing about 20mph (on an empty road) and take a quick quarter turn of the steering wheel then let go the steering wheel would not always return to mid-ships, it would just be a fraction off, more so when doing it to the right. I tried it this morning and it is sharp, straight back to centre in both directions. If you do have it done, let me know what you think after.

Does your 3.5 run on rails or a jelly

*** UPDATE *** I had the Power Steering Pull Drift Compensation turned off yesterday when the car went in for its first service. This has solved the issue with the car wandering, twitchy and just unpleasant to drive. It now goes in a straight line without constant small inputs to the steering.

    Dirty Rear End

Yes I see now, So mud flaps are about as much use on a Focus as they would be fitting them on a tortoise. - Except most tortoises don't suffer from wake turbulence. - Thanks Guys.

    Dirty Rear End

This time of year, wet mucky roads, I find most of the crud ends up all over the back of the car, even after a short drive. Has anyone fitted these 'mud flaps' as found on ebay for around £12? Do they work? Have you found anything that works better?

    Heated Washer Jets

Good way of remembering it Stratoc - Thanks guys for all your input.

    Heated Washer Jets

Can't find anything on this in the manual. Under what conditions do the heated washer jets work? ie do you need the windscreen heater on?

    Tinted Rear Glass

It's hard here too. Odd the other windows were all OK. Just got to get the 'Pull Drift Compensation' turned off and it should be a nice car.

    Tinted Rear Glass

Thanks for your reply Alex, it got me thinking, I've got some stuff in the cupboard called 'sticky stuff remover' so I gave it a go, it worked it took whatever it was off when nothing else would touch it. Which is why it made me think it was a problem with the glass.
