      it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. to save on trying to update the CCC file on the instrument cluster (as to be honest i don't know how to do this) has anyone ever just swapped out the fascia and needles - did this on a Vectra VXR once was pretty easy to do all just clips off .....as long as your carefull ?? - I took the ST cluster apart and it does seem to be as simple as popping them off and just refitting them onto the other cluster has anyone tried this ?? not sure if there as easy on the Focus , any help would be appreciated before i start just pulling it apart

I know the company thinks its being all eco friendly, if they had there way we would all be driving a fricking PRIUS, funny how the exec team all drive 3ltr BMW's thou - my friends got a 68 dodge charger, may have to borrow that for a few weeks...see if i can ***** the boss off... but they do pay me well and i can live with this car for a while, ill just keep modifying it, after i fix this ill be moving on to the engine see what i can do with that...as long as on paper it says its not over a 1.8 i'm fine. anyone got a guide to load the correct CCC file into the new instrument cluster. already have a modified ELM327 interface and the Forscan software with extended licence

Yep there bellends, very ***** company car policy but it pays the bills, basically i have a choice buy my own on an allowance (has to be under 1.8L and strict on emissions) or they give me a ***** bottom of the range low spec Astra, hence, i went for the allowance option...i did try the ST argument but according to there new Green policy (again all a load of crap to try to say there a green company) i abide or take the Astra option.... was tempted to stick an ST engine in there now they have the reg and V5 copy - they wouldn't notice.. but in the meantime thought i would have a go at the clocks, anyone have any ideas as i know it can be done, theirs one on ebay now with ST cluster but he wont say how it was achieved..

Hi, does anyone know how to fit the MK3.5 ST Cluster into non ST - seen it done a few times but nobody seems to be sure how it was done...I'm assuming its not just plug and play and requires ETIS or similar any help appreciated as i have a replica for work (sad i know-but work wouldn't allow the real thing due to a strict green/emissions policy) and all i have left to complete it is to activate the DRL's & Powerfold mirrors (again any help on those would be good to) and to fit the pods and cluster

Hi KPG it all pretty easy to be honest, wings are the same front panel is slightly different but there's no need to change it just a little jiggling around to get it on tight, you need the following: Bonnet bumper headlights - (plus the loom fix as mentioned above) lower splash guard cover - (you can modify the one you have but if you want it to last i would recommend a genuine ST one as the bumpers differ to the standard 2015 splash guard) depends how authentic you want it... you should really change the two front air ducts (again you can use your current ones - just need a little cutting to fit but on close inspection you'll be able to see them behind the grill - not sure on ST to ST as they may be the same) i also replaced rear bumper rear lights ST interior ST headlining and pillar trims 2015 head unit and screen 2015 centre console and arm rest and hand brake (this was a bit of a mission as it required modding to get the AC panel in the hole the 2015 panel goes in as its a different shape - i just made a solid plate out of black perspex and cut to size for the old panel to fit then fitted into the hole for the 2015 unit as luckily its bigger) 2015 steering wheel & Airbag - you can use the 2013 ST stuff which saves on changing all the arm rest / head unit / handbrake / airbag etc exhaust ST illuminated door seals
  6. I know, i was a bit surprised myself as wasn't sure if it would work....sometimes pays to just give it a go... I deliberately avoided the xenon headlights as i think i would have come up with issues using them.

Just a quick update, purchased a set of 2015 plugs of ebay which arrived this morning - made 2 mini loom connectors and 40 mins later all wired up and working 100% with no error messages and everything working as it should..no modules or coding required.. if anyone else wants to give it a go i've done a quick guide in the how to section

    First allow me to paint a picture, I have a MK3 2013 1.6tdci Zetec S which i use as a second run around car (as i got it cheap due to it being a cat D its nice enough but its a bit boring as i also have a 2015 ST Estate Replica which i built last year as i needed a cheap estate for work and the standard one look boring, last month along comes my rather unfortunate friend who decide the best place to park his 2015 ST which he had owned for a total of two weeks was sideways into a rather large tree at about 60mph....don't worry he was fine the car not so much...as he's third party only (don't ask, hes an idiot) he was left with a hell of a mess which i bought for £1500 absolute bargain i know. So here I found myself with a load of ST parts to play with so sold what i didn't want and decide the best place for most of it was on my Zetec S, as id seen a few face-lift upgrades i thought why not. all pretty easy fitting the panels / bumpers / interior / trims etc (those that were salvageable) but found when i put the headlights on they came up with a lo-beam error message on the dash and none of the lights actually worked. Well after many searches on all the forums and being told on here that i would need to get ECU's / software upgrades or coding to get the MK3.5 headlights to work on a MK3 i decided not to take anyone's word for it and have a go myself and hey presto £40 later and there fully functional without the need to do any software upgrades or buy any ECU's luckily i was emptying out the garage and in skip had a pair of 2012 smashed headlights from a previous cat D i had fixed a sold a while back so decided to strip the light looms out and marry them up against one from a broken 2015 headlight i also had going into the skip. the only difference between the two looms was the MK3.5 has another connector so looking from top to bottom left to right we have MK3 = 1: aim adjuster / pin 2: aim adjuster / pin 3: low beam / pin 4: low beam to indicator & Main beam to sidelight / pin 5: aim adjuster / pin 6: indicator / pin 7: main beam / pin 8: sidelight MK3.5 = pin 1: aim adjuster / pin 2: aim adjuster / pin 3: low beam / pin 4: low beam & indicator / pin 5: sidelight & Main beam / pin 6: aim adjuster / pin 7: indicator / pin 7: indicator / pin 8: main beam / pin 9: sidelight so i got to thinking, no internal ECU, no high tech things inside the light unit surely all they did was reconfigure the loom, and rather than cut into the existing loom (in case i was wrong) i purchased from ebay a set of 2015 headlight plugs from a damaged car (cost me £40 which was a bit steep but everyone seemed to want to sell me the whole loom for £100 so £40 seemed a better option) 3 days later and the plugs arrived so out came the tool box - all you need is: 2x headlight plugs from 2015 / 2016 focus 2x headlight internals removed from 2011 to 2014 headlights heat shrink & either heat shrink cable connectors and crimping toll or soldering iron - (depends how you want to go, some prefer to solder the connections i decided heat shrink connectors plus additional heat shrink over the top would be better) wire stripping tool insulation tape optional cable tidy / tubing depends how you want it to look once complete so i found the easiest way to wire them without getting mixed up is to plug the two plugs into each other and solder one at a time following 1 to 1 - 2 to 2 etc then when you get to the missing wire in block 4 take the lower cable (as two wire come out the MK3 headlightlight loom) and plug it into number 5 and continue on (hope this makes sense) new 2015 plug bellow - mine also had an addition green and orange wire (bottom left) which is for the DRL - but as i wasn't fitting them yet I left it there unused plugs plugged together - mid wiring after about 20 mins your left with this: unplug and tidy with some insulation tape and if you want it to look good some cable tidy (i used the stuff that was on the loom/plugs i was sent - i was a tight fit but looks a lot better - bellow is half way through the tidying process) 20 mins to do the other side so a total on about 40 mins or an hour if you stop for a beer like i did and you have two connector plugs/looms for 2011-2014 to 2015-2016 headlight plug into your existing loom one end, then the other end into your new face-lift headlights and hey presto working 2015 face-lift lights on a 2013, with no error messages or coding required now this may also work a lot easier if you just take a feed from plug 4 and run a new wire into plug 5 (from the first two pictures) on your existing loom but i didn't want to try this in case it didn't work and if you wanted to change it back at any point with these at least its a plug and play option, again if you can find a breaker willing to give you the plugs you could do this for next to nothing. the lesson to be learnt is things are not always what they seem, sometimes if you have the confidence to give it a go it may just pay off. just as a little disclaimer, if you do this its at your own risk, these work 100% for me but if you do it wrong and it doesn't work i give no guarantees

Bit Stuck on this light module inside the light idea.. happened to have an old 2013 and 2015 smashed light outside in the skip (as i'm doing a clear out) from previous projects so thought i would do a little investigating. after striping the looms out of each unit they seem to be pretty much the same the only thing they plug into (other than Bulbs) is the headlight aim adjuster motor and i cant see that that would be coded to the vehicle (may be wrong) the only difference between the two looms is the MK3.5 has another connector so looking from top to bottom left to right we have MK3 = 1: aim adjuster / pin 2: aim adjuster / pin 3: low beam / pin 4: low beam to indicator & Main beam to sidelight / pin 5: aim adjuster / pin 6: indicator / pin 7: main beam / pin 8: sidelight MK3.5 = pin 1: aim adjuster / pin 2: aim adjuster / pin 3: low beam / pin 4: low beam & indicator / pin 5: sidelight & Main beam / pin 6: aim adjuster / pin 7: indicator / pin 7: indicator / pin 8: main beam / pin 9: sidelight I may be wrong but the only difference i can see is that they changed the plug configuration to add an additional pin, so instead of pin 4 doing two jobs on the MK3 light (linking from Bulb to Bulb) it has its own pin so if i take the plug out from the car end and add pin 5 to the loom this would in essence reconfigure as per the MK3.5 i may see if i can get hold of a plug with some wire from the car end of a MK3.5 and make a mini loom connector (to go between the two plugs) in case it doesn't work if anyone knows where i can get a cheap one from 2015/2016 focus.. I am just thinking out load here, any suggestions welcome
  11. yep, rear valance & bumper was replaced with ST one... also anyone know where the module is in the lights, i have seen several 2012 / 2013 focuses with the later front end retro fitted so i know it can be done, just don't know how

Hi All I know a few people have done this and i did find a previous topic but no answers to this question I have a 2013 Focus Zetec S as a second car.....and an unlucky mate who killed his 2015 ST with a bit of sideways action and a poorly placed tree....so i found myself with a lot of 2015 ST parts for very cheap so have decided to do the face-lift conversion on the Zetec S. I've so far completed nearly everything with the exception of a few niggley but easy resolved fitting issues its been smooth sailing but I've now come up against a problem which is the headlights don't seem to work, I downgraded from the 2015 xenons to the standard 2015 edge lights without the DLR's as i was hoping with the same as what was on mine these would be a strait swap but alas i was wrong .. anyone know if these need to be re-programmed or re-wired as they all plug in ok but wont turn on and display a dipped beam error, which makes me think ford decided to reconfigure the plugs.. is it as simple as popping out the internals of the plugs and swapping them about (i.e. different configuration - if so what is it ??) or is there something i'm missing any guidance would be greatly appreciated cheers

Hi, did you get anywhere with this conversion, i'm doing the same conversion done everything except the front headlights which seem to throw up a fault every time i turn them on saying dipped beam issue (also they don't seem to work at all) , do they need programming to the car (any idea how easy this is ??) or can the old looms from the old headlights be modified to work ??

Hi All anyone know if you can reset the RCM module on my 2015 Focus with the extended licence on FORscan ?? my car was accident damaged and I've replaced all the sensors and airbags etc but can't get the RCM to stop the airbag light from coming on. fault is showing code: B1193 - Crash Event Storage Full and Locked. can it be cleared or am i looking at a replacement RCM ......been offered one for £75 of a non accident damaged vehicle - has the same part number etc but dont want to spend that if i don't have to ..
