Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

    How did you manage it?
  2. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

Some good info coming up here so firstly, I haven’t checked the hex code as I did not know which line it needed to be on but now I have that info I will do chris, mine is a 04/16 model so would be the latter. I’d be interested to know what the differences are!!

Chris have you had a chance to play with your UCDS yet? I’m wondering if this is the key to sorting this or if it worked because you have a petrol focus!
  4. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

Chris, do you have a 1.5 diesel focus which you have activated cruise on? im wondering if Ford have moved the bytes used in the BCM to indicate if it has cruise or not and because of that, Forscan and Focccus aren’t changing the right bytes? It’s interesting that it works with a different bit of software! where abouts in London are you based?

So Chris, can I assume that you tried activating it with Forscan and Focccus in the normal ways and even though the BCM showed the changes, it didn’t work? But then you have done it with this other kit and it’s worked? ill happily buy it if I can convince myself it will work but just worried because it seems to be a lot of diesel owners having trouble!
  6. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

Great news. So did you buy the adaptor directly from that site or is there another supplier?
  7. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

I think I have read a few people who have done this fine on a petrol Focus but I’m not sure what ages so don’t know if it’s a age related thing or a hardware issue. Let us know how you get on!
  8. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

Very possible but there are people that have managed it so I don't think it's that.
  9. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

Thanks :) mine is F1DT-14A073-DF so it's one of two things. It's not the BCM Limiting this or there's more than one software version with this issue
  10. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

Thanks. And which one was the one that worked?
  11. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

You can look it up on ETIS only reason I ask is because I'm trying to work out if it's a certain software version that has a difference or if it's a hardware difference in which case I will never get it working!
  12. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

Do you know the BCM software and hardware versions of both cars?
  13. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

What's the connector at the bottom for with the blue and black cables? Mine didn't have that
  14. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

Yeah both the software and hardware versions are slightly different with mine being the newer model im using a modified ELM327. Never had any issues with it and have successfully activated drive away locking with it
  15. Mk3.5 Cruise Control Fitting

So, the Gent above has been very helpful and provided me with all the details of his car which he has successfully activated cruise on. Although it was the same build month, the software versions are different. Now, is this because his may have a different config (is it a different software version for every single different central config out there?) or is it because it's on the border of a software update and one of us has a slightly older car meaning one of us is the software we can successfully edit the cruise setting on ?
