  1. Cheers Rogue_Shadow - appreciate your comments, and glad the review helped. :) (It'a also good to know that Google can find the review independently). Cheers, Sarc. -------------------- Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 in Colorado red, (3-door/petrol/manual transmission), QuickClear heated windscreen, bog-standard 15" alloys, chrome bits here there and everywhere, real spare wheel instead of the 'shaving foam' tyre repair kit which is normally supplied. (Would have also liked a built-in Jelly Baby dispenser, but sadly they haven't been invented yet). Ordered on 21st July. Build date: 5th September (Valencia). Delivery date: 29th Sept (2009) If anyone is interested I've done my own, personal REVIEW of the car, which includes loads of photos etc. Please click the following banner:
  2. No problem - I quite understand. 3. Just wondered where my 'Fiesta Zetec' review has disappeared to. It has been pinned in the 'Important Topics' section for the last few weeks, as it seemed to be a useful article for any new potential Fiesta buyers. I'll quite understand if the moderators felt the need to remove it if it wasn't getting many hits, and they needed the space - just curious as to why it has been removed, that's all. 4. That's brilliant news ... you must be over the moon. Mine took about ten weeks to arrive, though it was initially meant for the dealership themselves to use as a display model/demonstrator, and they allowed me to have it instead, (saved a few extra weeks of waiting). No problems with it at all, and the whole ordering/delivery process went perfectly well. Happy motoring. :) Sarc. -------------------- Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 in Colorado red, (3-door/petrol/manual transmission), QuickClear heated windscreen, bog-standard 15" alloys, chrome bits here there and everywhere, real spare wheel instead of the 'shaving foam' tyre repair kit which is normally supplied. 5. Just a quick update on my car. I did the original review when I first bought it, in October 2009. I have now driven it for many hundreds of miles and still think it's a lovely car. It has also coped admirably in the recent freezing weather - the heating system and QuickClear windscreen work a treat. Can't wait for the warmer weather though - then we can get out a bit more and start to enjoy the driving experience again. :) Sarc. -------------------- Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 in Colorado red, (3-door/petrol/manual transmission), QuickClear heated windscreen, bog-standard 15" alloys, chrome bits here there and everywhere, real spare wheel instead of the 'shaving foam' tyre repair kit which is normally supplied. 6. I agree - the positioning seems a bit weird. Though I think the recent night-time temperatures would freeze it no matter where it's positioned. Personally, I use quite a strong mixture of washer bottle screenwash which has helped to prevent the actual water bottle from freezing, (even at -16c). The main problem I find is at the washer jets on the bonnet which always seem to freeze up. It sometimes helps to spray the jets with window de-icer first which may help to get them going, (making sure to immediately wipe up any exces spray from the paintwork of course). Though I've also been known to spray a tin of de-icer out of the driver's side window every now and then, to try to clean the windscreen when the jets don't work, (not when I'm moving, I hasten to add ... only when I'm at a junction or stuck in traffic etc.) My main problem lately is actually getting the car doors open in the first place. I'm paranoid that I'll damage the rubber around the doors if I try to force them open. Again, the trusty old de-icer comes in handy - spraying it all around the door seals and allowing it to seep in for a few moments. Roll on the spring-time!!! 7. Welcome to the forum, Jack. It sounds like an excellent choice of car you've made. We also had to say goodbye to our faithfull old car: an eleven-year old Megane, (under the scrappage scheme) ... a very sad moment. But, we are more than happy with our new Fiesta - it's the best car we've ever owned. Happy motoring. :) Sarc. -------------------- Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 in Colorado red, (3-door/petrol/manual transmission), QuickClear heated windscreen, bog-standard 15" alloys, chrome bits here there and everywhere, real spare wheel instead of the 'shaving foam' tyre repair kit which is normally supplied. 8. Welcome to the forum. I'm also the proud owner of a Zetec 1.4 (Colorado red) since Sept, and have had many journeys, (both essential as well as for pure fun), and still get a buzz out of it. I even have to look out of the window whenever I pass it, just to gaze at the car for a few seconds ... I know, it's all very sad! Happy motoring. 10. I know the Zetec S models are a much higher spec than the standard Zetecs, but if you are interested, I've done a personal review of my own 'standard' Zetec 1.4 HERE . There are quite a few photos etc to have a look at, as well as my own thoughts on the car, (for what they're worth!) :) Hope it helps. 15. Just added my vote to increase the 'Zetec 1.4 petrol built at Valencia' total to a whopping 'FOUR', (so far!)
