  1. It can very easily jump to 99.9mpg. That's ford's calibrated mpg dash figure when you're not requesting any fuel. E.g if you're cruising at around 50-60mph then start going downhill expect it to jump to 99.9mpg as the engine doesn't need any fuel to keep the car travelling at whatever speed you're doing so the mpg is effectively infinite at that point in time.
  2. Id personally prefer to not go through insurance, so just wanted a rough idea of how much a garage would chsrge for a complete new bumper and labor.
  3. Hi guys. I Had a low speed rear impact today, Van driver couldn't slow down in time as we came to a stop on a steep downward hill. Completely his fault. This is my first accident and felt like the rear should have been in pieces but thankful only a little damage. There are two clear impact points from his number plate screws and there's a light crack along a seam line near the boot hatch. How much do people think this would cost to repair? I'm speaking to the fleet manager tomorrow as it was a company van that hit me.
  4. Yes I do, I've got a dash cam hardwired in So it only comes on with the ignition. Shouldn't cause an issue with interference if it's off should it? I'll disconnect for one morning at give it a go though.
  5. The thought had crossed my mind! Only issue with that is I've got 25 neighboughs! As I live in a flat block haha. I'll try it out in a few other locations to pin it down to an issue at home.
  6. Hi guys. Having a few issues with keyless entry into my focus mk2.5. I have 2 key fobs along with an extra "hard" key. I've replaced the batteries in both the key fobs which didn't help the following issue. I go out in the morning and it won't unlock without pressing the key and will sometimes say key not found when trying to start (all with key in my pocket). I'll get to work and can lock the car using the handle lock button. Work finishes and I can get back in my car without touching the key. Get back home and it won't lock with the handle button! Almost like at home somethings stopping it working. Just seems really intermittent. Anybody experience this before?
  7. Agreed! However, I bought the car from my dad for a low price and I know the cars been really well looked after. It's only done 39k miles and has been serviced by Ford yearly etc... Also it's not a journey I'll be doing forever as it's just whilst my girlfriend is at uni. So it's a purchase for the future really.
  8. As I was more worried about getting the car on the road I haven't had time to finish the dash cam. Where to you use to ground mate?
  9. Hi all. Just completed my first long journey (100miles) in my new focus 2010 2.0L petrol. I got 47 calculated mpg which I was quite pleased with. My journey to work is 60 miles each way and 90% motorway driving so I'm looking to increase my mpg as much as possible. From everyone's experience on here what mods/tips have you come across for increased mpg. The car is currently completely stock.

  11. Thanks for the help all! All sorted now. Turns out it was an incredibly flat battery. Sorry for wasting your time, was just stressing as I needed it back on the road for today!
  12. Not sure on battery age tbh I drove it home (20minute drive) with no issues and would think that'd charge it enough but it had been sat for about a month previous to that drive. Everything was working fine until these fuse changes then the issues started. First port of call tomorrow is halfords for a battery charger!
  13. Oh balls will do that once it's fixed :( I've left the battery disconnected at the minute and will retry shortly.
  14. Hi All, I just got my 2010 focus home after the first time driving it and after trying to fit my new dashcam (hardwiring it) i've ran into major issues. Stupidly i removed some fuses during the process, maybe i shouldnt have touched the ones i did, but at the time i thought it made sense as i was looking for a fuse only powered during ignition on. The fuses i removed were: Fuel pump no.111 Battery to instrument cluster no.107 Radio no.112 Accessory to cluster no.108 Put them all back in place (i was doing them one at a time) as i was having no luck with power during ignition on. Then i left the car alone for 30mins came back to move parking spots and all the interior electrics just flickering rapidly at me and it didn't engage the starter at all. The cluster was powered and the radio but interestingly the ESP wouldnt turn on with just the ignition on. Went to try again after checking the fuses and something in the fuse box almost got stuck flickering and i couldnt stop it, now all the interior electrics are not working minus the cluster. Any ideas people? Im struggling and worried i've done some serious damage after just getting the car.
  15. Yeah all the bits so far would be really handy!
