  1. Sorry for the delay in replying, nothings wrong I was thinking about a new car and wanted to compare performance figures. The ideas gone off the boil at the moment as the car is going well but thanks anyway.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion Luke, I tried to find information but because the car is so old I guess that sort of data has dropped off the radar.
  3. Hi there, can anybody give me the following figures for a year 2000, 1.8 petrol engine Ford Focus? 0-60 time 30-50 in 3rd/4th gear 50-70in 4th/5th gear and finally the maximum brake horse power. Thanks for any advice
  4. Thanks Billy, I'm not surprised at your comments, perhaps I'll keep it until something big goes wrong.
  5. Hi there. I'm thinking of chopping in my 1.8 2000 petrol Focus for a new car, trouble is I really like the mid-range grunt the old car has. My question is do modern 1.00 turbo engines perform well in that area or do they require lots of gear changing to get the best out of them?
  6. More by chance I think I've found an answer to my ventilation problem, I had the air conditioning re-gassed and the smell has stopped, I've no idea why but at present it's working
  7. Hi there, can anyone advise me where the high level brake light feed is located on a Mark 1 2000 Focus hatchback? I’ve proved it’s the feed that’s at fault but because it’s such an old car I’m reluctant to start pulling the headlining or panels about to search of the broken wires. Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Not that I'm aware as the temperature gauge stays constant in the centre of the dial but it's worth checking under the bonnet so thanks for that suggestion
  9. Thanks for that Jonro2009, I had a look but nothing seemed to help. I've a Ford garage at the end of my road but am reluctant to go there as they'll probably charge more to look at the car than it's worth.
  10. Hi there, can anybody help me, I've a 2000 petrol 1.8 mark 1 Focus with 136,000 miles on the clock, it goes really well and doesn't use any oil but I've one big problem. Once the engine has warmed up if I'm stuck in traffic there's a strong hot oil/ exhaust smell comes in the cabin. This happens even if the heater is set to recirculating or the air conditioning is on. Once moving I don't notice it; it's had a new exhaust system fitted with no improvement, any thoughts would be appreciated.
