Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Clutch/gearbox problems

Just wanted to add that i have used it to tow a mates 1.5 tonne van about 8 miles back in feb and it pulled like a train. No slipping or anything and yes i do realise that it is almost 2x my legal payload but it done it with ease. I wouldn't want to try it now tho
  2. Clutch/gearbox problems

Hi All, thanks for taking the time read this. I have a 55 plate mk2 1.6 ti-vct focus. I have had the car about 4 years and love it to bits! When I first had the car it drove like a dream for 2 years with no faults. Feb 2016 i hit a dear and done some front end damage. The car has since been repaired and I've had it back on the road daily since January this year( before January it was used as a back up for when my van was in the garage or family/friend'sneeded use of a car) since having it back I have noticed the car doesn't seem to be as eager to move as before. I do need a new thermostat and a few other bits which should help improve the response of the car. The problem I have is when I 1st had the car if I gave it some beans and dropped the clutch it would wheelspin like a ***** all the way through 1st and if given enough beans part way through 2nd as Well. Now if I give the car anything over 2k revs and drop the clutch it will pull right up until I take my foot of the clutch and then bog down like someone just dropped a 2 tonne lead weight on my bonnet. If i come of smoothly then no issues but if im trying to get ahead of someone at a set of lights or joining a roundabout on a dual carrigeway i have to wait for a huge gap because i no when i floor it it just bogs. 1st and second are the worst! I've done all the clutch tests I can think of...pulling away in 4th....pulling away in 2nd with hand brake on ( although my handbrake is only at 22% efficiency 😂 ) and it just stalls. Even tried a hill start on a bridge over a train track and it's steep everyone has to downshift to get up it unless your doing 100mph lol and it just pulled away with ease so I am really lost here as to what it could be....i just will mention tho that the biting point on my clutch is somewhere near the roof hahahaha😂😂😂
  3. Missing parts

Thanks for that 😊 I dont suppose you have a part number do you? And yes I have a local ford breaker but there wasn't much point in going there not knowing what I was looking for lol
  4. Missing parts

Just been under the car and seen this.... it's hard to see but this sits just above the front of the front passenger wheel and I believe it runs down the wing?
  5. Missing parts

After digging through my garage for any parts collected from the road from the time I hit the deer and i found this...does anyone have any idea what this used to be attached to? As you can see its snapped off something but I don't no what.
  6. Missing parts

Even if someone could take a look under there focus for me to see what pipe they have would be just as good 😊

  8. Missing parts

Hi all, hopefully someone on here can help me out. February 2016 I wrote off my beloved focus by ploughing into a stag roe deer.😭 Me and my father spent most of the summer putting her back together and getting her back on the road🔧🔨. Last week I serviced the car and noticed when i replaced my air filter there was a huge hole in the bottom of the housing....it was only the air intake pipe completely missing!!! I believe it got destroyed when I hit the deer. The problem I have is trying to identify something I don't have haha. I've been searching the net all week for the correct pipe/hose but no-one seems to know exactly what pipe it is as there are a few different types. My local mech seems to think it was a hard plastic pipe which shattered on impact with the deer as he said a soft rubber one would of split and bent and parts of it would of been left intact whereas I have nothing atall. 1st pic is the filter housing from underneat the car the other 2 are of damage caused by deer
