Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Sat nav retrofit

The only thing you have to consider is if you have a dab unit now you should by a dab sat nav unit, there is no need to remove the headlining. Simply pop off the screen shroud using a plastic card etc, the unit is held in with torx screws as is the screen, when you buy the new unit you will need the screen shroud that fits that screen as it bigger, the Nav ariel is mounted on the screen bracket so should come with it, the gloss black surround comes off very easily as I recall you have to pop off the passenger air bag warning light to access the torx screws. You will need to change files in the cars system to show a 5" screen instead of 4" and enable the Nav system I did this when I bought the car and it cost me £250 for the system and took about an hour.
  2. Forscan Programming?

If you don’t have a camera connected you will only get a blank screen as it will not see a power supply to the unit, you will need the FaKara connector for the input to the new screen, re the Bluetooth I had to get the E1BT unit and then update the firmware to the latest version to enable Spotify and track names over Bluetooth works great now.
  3. Fitting DAB into MK7.5

Congrats Luke I think that was a good buy then, when I swapped from that unit to the Sat Nav I had to enable it using Forscan and add the larger screen all worked fine, incidentally my Dab has never dropped out the reception is brilliant in Yorkshire.
  4. I will send it all which is Head unit and Facia, Bluetooth Module with screen and shroud for £65 posted recorded delivery you can send me a pm and we can swap details if that suits, Regards Gary
  5. Hi Luke if its just the head unit then £35 all the lot £60 thanks.

  9. Sat nav retrofit

Using Forscan change the screen from 4" to 5" although that looks bigger to me.
  10. Phone sync

You go into the menu and restore factory settings it's then ready for a new owner. Gary

  13. Sync - 'USB device not recognised'
