Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. 2007 ford focus tdci timing question.

Thought it was 2008?? Can any one find out by a vin number? Maby ford?
  2. Hi guys, got a little question for ya. I own a 2007 ford focus 1.8 tdci (engine code KKDA1s). I an due to change the timing belt (cam to H/P) which is no issue at all however I am unsure if the timing gear from the crank to the pump is wet belt or wet chain? Is there a way to tell if I have a chain or belt from the crank to the pump?
  3. 1.8 TDCI running costs?

Mine is std and not remapped I have to admit. I have downloaded an app to calculate MPG. So about 350 to 400 miles till full up is about right?
  4. 1.8 TDCI running costs?

Hi, yes I have to admit according to my trip computer I should get around 400 to 500 miles out of a tank but I was after real life figures such as how many miles from your trip meter to the amount t of fuel left on the gauge. I think my focus is not doing so good on mpg??
  5. 1.8 TDCI running costs?

Hi guys hope your all Good? I have a mk2 focus 1.8 TDCI and I would like to know what miles you are getting from your tank? I think when I full up full and the fuel gauge gets to the first quarter mark I have covered about 110-120 miles? Does this sound right to what you guys are getting?
  6. Rear window washer jet?

Lol no worries a good result.
  7. Hi guys, hope your enjoying the hot weather. On Saturday I had a strange noise coming from my mk2 1.8 tdci focus, if I rev the engine and let it settle I can hear the turbo whine down quite loud, it's hard to hear on the video but loud in the car with Windows open. If I drive the car while on boost (70mph then put my foot down) I can hear this in the cab as well like a little whine. I have delt with Ford's many times and thought it's most likely a split boost hose so today I took all pipes off to check them and gues what, they are all fine. If I start the car with all the pipe work off it sounds like the bearings are very dry/noisy. I also got a stethoscope on the turbo and with the engine running I can hear a very ruff noise not a smooth noise from a bearing. I will post the links below for you guys to watch, have any of you guys had an issue like this? Would like your feed back to confirm but I think my turbo is on its way out, the car is on 136k and engine still runs sweet as day 1. 8. Rear window washer jet?

Sounds like mine as well TangoDaz. Thank you mate at least I know it's right.
  9. Rear window washer jet?

Hi guys, could I ask a favour please. The rear washer jet on my mk2 focus streams out like a garden hose on to the screen where as the front has a nice spray/mist. Could any one look at there mk2 focus hatch and tell me if there car streams or sprays please.
  10. Mk2 focus and cam belt.

    Lol no one?
  11. Mk2 focus and cam belt.

Any one guys? So no one has done this job then? Regards
  12. Mk2 focus and cam belt.

My car build date is 15.05.2007. I have been reading if your car was built after October 2007 then it would be belt and then before it would be chain, so I would think mine is chain? Can any one back this up? Now the thing is I have a very nice BMW and I only bought this focus for my car that I run to and from work and do the odd dump run in, it save putting the miles on my BMW. Now this focus ghia is very tidy but at the end of the day it cost me £1200 so it's a cheap ford and I have to out weigh spending silly money on it if you guys can see my point. Now the question is do you guys worry about this if it's chain? Do you guys still worry if it is a wet belt? Should I only change the top half belt or would it be silly leaving the bottom? This seems s very silly design? Any info please?
  13. Mk2 focus and cam belt.

Hi guys need some info on the mk2 focus 1.8 tdci please. This car is due a cambelt change and I have done many cam belts but I thought I would check first. Is the Mark 2 still a split design meaning it only has a belt from the injector pump to the cam? Is there any difference between the mk1 tdci? Do you not worries about the bottom chain/belt? If it's just the top is it just the case of using the 5mm bar on the top and licking off fly wheel? Any help please.
  14. Hi guys, hope you are all well. I have picked up a 2007 mk2 ford focus ghia with quite a few toys which is fantastic. However I can't seem to figure out the 1.Bluetooh function 2. Voice control function ------------- BLUETOOTH Now as for this I have the Sony 6cd gen 2, this has a phone button and a green and red phone button. Every time I push these I just get 'audio mute' on the display. I have cycled in the menu and I can't find any info on BT or phone. Would I be right in saying my car has no ecu or phone module connected? VOICE CONTROL Now behind my steering wheel I have a stalk with lots of buttons and one of the state's 'Voice' but again this button does nothing if I push it or hold it down? Am I doing anything wrong? Am I right in saying that if it did not have voice control then I should not have the button? I have an aux port fitted in the globe box, will the voice only work with that connected? Need helps please lol.
