Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. Beside the guide in owner manual, has anybody seen any guide for mk8 headlight removal and bulbs change? I was trying to change low beam bulb(H7) to projector headlight, and run in couple problems. Of course i forget to take any picture, so bare with me - Method of removal of the headlight assembly in owner manual doesn't work, or i don't understand that correctly. Front mount is stuck below the black fender cover. - I can't get bulb holder to twist. According to manual it should open by turning anticlock wise, is there some kind of locking mechanism, because it feel like the whole light ficture twist with holder.
  2. Mk8 Delivery Delays?

I was wrong, the armrest usb works for android S8 also. Might have been bad cable before when i tested it.
  3. Mk8 Delivery Delays?

Under the mat is the slot where you put your fob, if the fob battery is dead. btw. That storage shell is piece of awfull design, overall ford really drop the ball in one thing. That is using the android auto(AA) easy. - Need to use usb instead of bt or wifi(ok this is not ford fault, and wifi is coming to AA) - Only front usb works with AA(atleast i have not get the arm rest usb to work for AA) - Front usb is at very risky place, and for me also it is very ugly looking the usb cable sticking in shiny carbon panel - There is no good place to put your phone. If i put my S8 with usb cable connectet to it in that holder front of gear stick, it would not fit sideways to it, and other way cable and phone is in way of the gear stick. - If your phone gets disconnect from the car, beware of radio blasting at high volume(There might be a fix for this in pipeline) Here is my Vignale
  4. Sync 3 Map Updates

Hi, Which map provider database the build in sync 3 navigator uses? Have anybody found any map updates available?
  5. Mk8 Delivery Delays?

The "cotus" did not work for my browser, but https://www.etis.ford.com has atleast the some info of the car
  6. If very well might be wrong but, i have come to understand that only map difference is that 125 has overboost enabled, so you have same performance except the X seconds that overboost is working.
  7. Help: tyre pressure 4 trip

On winter tyres with studs i would use little higher or even full load pressures. Specially if you start on higher temp enviroment. If it feels like rear is sliding and traction control has to work alot, then you can always stop at gas station and lower the pressures(once tyres have cooled down)
  8. Auto-Opening Boot?

I had one set on my car, removed it after couple months of use. It worked on hot summer days and opened the tailgate fully, on colder days it still helped little. Both gas springs started to show some leaking. Fiesta is not optimal for springs, there is too little space for them, so spring travel is too short, and geometry of the gas spring mounting points is so that spring is putting extra strain on mounting points. Hard to explain in writing, easy if you see it on car. And sorry for my english, not native.
  9. Help needed

I have the ford recommended 17" set, no limiter and no problems. As far as i know, you can change the wheel size using forscan. There is two different values, i changed them both to correct value.
  10. Floor mats

Have you checked Weathertech matts? I like the look, they protect even behind the gas pedal and are nice to clean.
