Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  1. So the wait was over and it was the afternoon of when i went to pick up the new car. New car was the new Ecosport the day was friday 6/4/18. Car came round from the back and noticed it wasnt mine as it didnt have the wheels or privacy glass (obvious exterior parts). another 10 minutes goes by and by now i'm wondering around waiting and spotted my new reg on this standard version st line ecosport.. er hang on a minute.. Spoke to the salesman, thats what you ordered he said. No it wasnt! i said. Long story short. Spent days with the salesman explaining what i wanted which was pretty much there demo car but in a different color. we haggled the price for days and i even had a quote from a different ford garage. Manager said they will just beat any quote i bring them. agreed on the price and signed. this new price that beat any quote i gave them now had Every feature that i requested now gone from the spec. they now want to change the wheels and put privacy film on the back windows. I dont know where to start with this situation. What are my rights here?
  2. Staging a come back! New Ecosport ST Line

I was on for a Kuga for months and months. Father in law always mentioned the Ecosport as an alternative and I wouldn't entertain it. they are nasty. I saw a demonstrator around town of the new Ecosport and thought it looked a huge improvement! After a test drive and some research into the spec and build my mind was made up.
  3. Hi All, I'm returning after some time away. iiii'm baaack. So, purchased the new Ecosport ST Line 1.0 140PS (pick u early April) Anyone else like it enough to go with it? Interest to know what people think about it. GOOD & BAD Regards Lee
  4. Staging a come back! New Ecosport ST Line

I believe it sits on the fiesta st line suspension setup. I drove it and actually preferred it to the Kuga.. surprisingly firm without that boaty feel. The B&O system they have in it? Is this rolled out in most fords now?? Sounds incredible!
  5. White 17'' Zetec S Alloys

  7. I'v put a crack into the front part of the kit that on the front bumper. She took it down for its first service and they took a look at it at the same time. they'v writen today.. close on 1200 quid to repair! There a few other plastic bits that are broken and they want to replace they reckon! This is Ford! I have a friend who does bodywork and plastic welding, so I need to try and source these parts that I need and wondered if anyone knew where I could get them apart from Ford Parts.
  8. Hi. <_< Had abit of an incident involving a tractor.. Took a week break up in Staffordshire driving around those lanes made only for one; tractor comes the other way on a blind bend. Do I go under the tractor or up the bank, I went for the latar as i thought it sounded abit cheaper. Now i have some damage to the dresskit on the front bumper and need it needs repaired. How much does that part cost and is it glued on? There is a panel that runs across the whole underside of the engine bay, thats cracked abit at the front where it clips to the front bumper. How much would that part cost?
  9. Bit Of Damage Needs Repairing

I thought it may be abit costly. Think they could do in a single day?

  11. Fiesta Wheel Jack

I split a tyre in Roydon a few months back and went to halfords for a jack, they do a lightweight 2T trolleyjack that is perfect and goes in the boot without hoggin too much space. Think i only paid about £30 for it. Trolleyjacks are easier than winding as you only need to pump it, and it makes taking off your alloys to clean them half the job! :D
  12. Washer Jets Squirt On My Bonnet!

No sorry pal, maybe talk to your local service dept about resolving it.. sounds annoying tho Exposed to those tempretures i'm surprised the doors havent fallen off! :D
  13. Upgrading Mk7 Sound Quality

I have a Vibe Active Sub bought from halfords about 2 years ago, 1200watts which i think for the same sort of spec you'l look to pay around 260 for one. and 20 for a Vibe amp wiring kit. It was easy to do but still having small problems with interferance at low volume and it's in at ford tuesday morning for what i believe to be an electrical fault which could of been due to disconnecting the battery. the cars been acting weird since the weekend when i installed it. Those 17's are loud, which is why i've stuck with the 16's.. gotta watch those potholes with low profiles tho!

  15. Upgrading Mk7 Sound Quality

I'l definatly be looking into this dynomat then. I do the fibre optic infrastucture at the ford site in Dagenham and talk to the guys there alot, they seem to know alot about new stuff being released, i'm surprised they have only just starting putting front sensors on the cars as the guys knew about that for months. I'l have to ask about the sony headunit, i'v seen pictures and it looks great. sorry we seem to be drifting from the subject
  16. Daytime Running Lights

There is a guy somewhere on here thats done it and also included a helpfull guide, he also made a link for the lights he used. search the forum from the bottom search bar. I forget who it was sorry.
  17. The Small Things That Make You Smile!

I'm always on the the prowl for ZS's I drove home from scotland once, with a silver zetec s over taking aech other for 200 miles.. it didn't get boring!
  18. Upgrading Mk7 Sound Quality

    When is that being released?
  19. Upgrading Mk7 Sound Quality

I was quite interested reading about you wanting to do some deadening within the doors as i'm finding some vibration from the doors within the car also. From outside the car the only vibration i can hear is something from the rear, under the rear difuser. I haven't yet had time to investigate but it could be something to do with the poor excuse for a spare wheel. I'l need to take out the poly tray for the sealent and see if that cures it, otherwise it could be the heat plate for the exhalst. I have an active sub installed and sounds pretty good, i find with the audio setting on the headunit, bass set at par, treble at +1 and mid at +2 the factory speakers arent that bad! I wouldn't move away from the 40 profile tyres as they look so much nicer. Oh and welcome to FOC too! :D
  20. Mk7 Active Sub Install

I’ve had abit of a nightmare with this, and I go on to explain what exactly has happened - anyone interested will need to bare with me because this is quite long. Well Saturday finally arrived and I was up at 7am ready to install this Vibe active sub. Had the guide for taking off the head unit which was easy enough, installed the cables from the battery and tapped into the speakers wires with electrical splices for the RCA converter... Ha, then it all went to slop.. No, saying that it worked fine for 15 minutes.. After that though it was pretty much doomed! Started with some interference, a light pulse from the sub which I only got on the black (-) leg of the rca's, which was constant, then after looking at the amp as I shut the boot it got worst, like the pitch changed. Then it started to wine with the accelerator. After abit of a break I thought about everything I’d done. First I decided although I’m sure the ground was good enough on the seatbelt anchor I drilled the chassis and scratched away paint for a true ground. Didn’t make any difference. I then decided to take out the power cable and rca's running down the left side of the car and keep them apart incase the interference was being generated there. Again didn't make a difference, still a light pulsing of the sub and no tune.. So I decided that I would disconnect it all and seek further guidance. I reconnected the battery and it was dead, started it with a starter pack and now I have another problem.. :( I think it could be an electrical fault.. Because I drove it today and the Speedo drops to 0mph then back to whatever speed I’m doing, and does it at random times. Messages like 'Engine Malfunction Service Now' & 'Brake System Failure Stop Safely'... the USB function keeps failing aswell. Alarms from the dash all at the same time. It was crazy! Bit worried so I’m taking it to Ford in the morning. Again sorry this is so long but I'm hoping someone can help and the more information I give the better understanding that person will have. Hoping to also get response from people that have already done this install. Thanks for getting this far!

  23. Power Cable From Engine Bay

Does anyone know of a way of getting an 8gauge cable (about the thickness of your little finger tip) through from the Engine bay to the inside of the car? I think the wiring from the engine bay comes in just above and behind the glove box but i dont really want to be pulling the dash out.. It's still to new for all that.
  24. Power Cable From Engine Bay

Glad to hear it. Roll on the weekend!
