  1. I never knew that, crazy! But... When I received the first headlight (Drivers side), in came wrapped just in bubble wrap, very tightly. Granted there were about 25 layers of wrap but because they'd wrapped it so tightly around the fragile ends of the headlight, the plastic mounts had all broken by the time I got it. So immediately it's useless. They sent the passenger side separately as I'd ordered it a day later and surprise... Wrapped the same way and also arrived broken. After messaging the guy, he replied with a very long (very long) rant on how it's not their fault, how they've sold "5" headlights since Christmas and this is the first set that has broken. He went on to tell me how I have an attitude, that his business makes £700,000 per year, he spends more than £10 each day on breakfast etc. I'm 100% positive the guy has a screw loose! He said send them back for a refund, 3 weeks later I still haven't received my money back and they're coming up with all kinds of excuses. Moral of the story, if you need parts, AVOID "Ford Bits"
  2. I needed a Drivers side headlight after an accident. I used PartsGateway online and a car breaker "Ford Bits" sold me one for £70. They asked for a picture and said my headlights weren't originals, they'd been replaced previously at some point. So because I'd already purchased the drivers side I asked if they had a passenger side to match the drivers side they sent out. Eventually he came back and said yes, £80 for the passenger! I phoned up and they said they charge more for the passenger side as they're more likely to get damaged. I think they knew I'd pay what they asked as I'd already purchased the drivers side and NEEDED a passenger side to match so put the price up! Have I been done?! 😠 "Ross" dealt with it via PartsGateway, he's the one that decided the price. I phoned up and spoke to the receptionist who seemed nice, she tried to talk him out of it but he wouldn't budge on price. My question is... Is that normal?

    Total Loss Cat N

I did just check with my insurance to double check, they say I'm still insured ("still in force").
  5. Hello... Somebody crashed into me a couple weeks ago, they classed my fiesta as a Total Loss Cat N. The damage is as follows, dented drivers front wing, headlight bracket broken, mirror cap clips broken and wheel is scuffed. I got the car back from them on salvage and they'll pay me £3,000. My question is am I still insured to drive this car? I've not had anybody tell me otherwise. I've tried googling it but information is varied. Do I need an MOT to prove to my insurance that it's road safe? Or can I just continue as normal? Thanks guys.

Hardwire Dashcam - Acc and VCC

Now we're getting somewhere... Do you know the location of these within the fusebox? 😌 I've currently got it setup like this (picture below), but it worries me because I don't know what the fuse slot marked "VCC" is for. The one marked in Red is empty but has switched live. If I'm going off the diagram I found on Google, the Yellow marked slot is for trailer module (see pictures below)
  7. Can somebody please confirm whether these fuse locations are safe to use to hardwire a dashcam. (Just to be clear, VCC and ACC are the descriptions of the dashcam wires. I have connected them in the locations shown in picture.) The manual diagram states the Yellow VCC fuse is for the "Trailer Module" and the red ACC is for the Multi functional display, clock, internal scanner, heating vents and air conditioning panel... But there's no fuse in this slot. So maybe I have the wrong diagram? The fuse slot that's free on the right I have plugged in the ACC cable and the fuse slot on the left with the 7.5amp fuse I have plugged in the VCC cable. Is this okay? See image below.

Hardwire Dashcam - Acc and VCC

Right! But the camera has a time-lapse function for when you're parked up, so if anyone bumps you it'll pick them up. A constant live is required for this and then switched ignition power is required to tell the cam whether the car is turned on or not to use the correct recording option. It will turn the camera off itself when it detects that the car battery voltage drops to a specified limit. The hardwire kit came with the camera so cost doesn't come into it really. It's as you said, piggyback fuse holders, 2amp for the cam and insert original fuse. I just need to know the two fuse locations I can use. I don't want to unwittingly use a pre existing airbag fuse or something important. So just, one constant live (that's safe to use) and one switched live (that's safe to use) Somebody help me pleaseee! 😔
  9. Hi guys, I have a DDPai mini 3 dash cam that requires hardwiring. I have a Ground wire (connect to body), a yellow wire (VCC) and a red wire (ACC). To which fuses can I safely connect to within the passenger fusebox? One is for constant power and the other is switched with the ignition. I've looked on Google, read the instructions and watched some videos, but none are very helpful, I just need someone to be very clear and explain it as if I'm retarded. I think I have fusebox type 1, the lowest amount of fuses (stuff I don't have). I have it connected already but I don't think it's right. I've connected constant power to a spare slot with constant and switched power to a 7.5amp which is next to a 10amp fuse on the right side. But take this out your mind and tell me from fresh please. My car is a 2009 Ford Fiesta Zetec S MK7 Thanks

    Clutch or Induction? 🙄

I never did it for the looks or the "performance enhancement", It was a cheap way to change the tone of the engine, sportier if you like. I always had pipercross, which is kind of a deeper, throatier tone than K&N. Most people hate it, sure. But again it's cheaper than buying a full exhaust system for a 1.4l engine. Is you next insult going to cure your self esteem issues?

    Clutch or Induction? 🙄

I'll be taking it off tomorrow or Tuesday, then I'll give it a test. Then more importantly I'll put the piece of chit on eBay for some 'other' mug to buy 🤣 Every car I've owned I've put an Induction kit on. To date I've had a (In order)... Vauxhall Corsa, Ford Ka, Citroën Saxo, Renault Clio, Peugeot 206, Ford Puma, Renault Megane and now a Fiesta... The cars are supposed to get better as you get older, but mine have stayed consistently ***** lol!

    Clutch or Induction? 🙄

I really should put the old airbox back in to diagnose, but that's a whole process that I didn't want to have to do lol, but I must. I thought the ecu relearns the new data from the MAF and adjusts to suit, or do I disconnect the battery for 10 minutes? I suppose I could say F*** it and accept a £100 loss and return it back to original or I could do a bit more research. Either way, thanks for the reply and effort. If anyone knows of any other threads with a similar problem please let me know. I find it difficult to navigate this website. Thanks
  13. Hello, I've just had a new clutch and slave fitted and I fitted a pipercross induction kit (Panel filter enclosed in original airbox, see link below) https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/PK363-Pipercross-Induction-Kit-for-FORD-FIESTA-Mk7-1-25-1-4-1-6-16v-inc-ZETEC-S-/132384358099?_mwBanner=1 They were both done at the same time so I don't know which is causing the problem... When I'm in 1st gear, crawling through traffic, I'll get to the bite point and the car will shudder. Could it be that the cars not getting enough air? The cold air pipe supplied is really long, I have one side connected to the bottom of the new airbox and the other to the original cold air intake on the upper front of the engine bay (as directed). The pipe kind of sags down in the shape of an elongated "U", will this restrict the air intake? Something else that could help diagnose the problem is when I'm in 4th, doing 30mph then accelerate the car will for a moment drop power, sort of a stutter. I'm leaning towards the CAI but the juddering in 1st then makes me think clutch. Please help! Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 Petrol 2009
  14. Finding so many problems with my 2009 fiesta zetec S The latest issue is the gearstick squeaks when going into 2nd, 4th and reverse... I lifted the gear surround to oil the joint and found the noise to be coming from the piston thingy, I don't know what it's for but when you put the gearstick into 2nd, 4th and reverse the piston extends, and this is causing the squeak, I squirted some 3in1 around but still squeaking. Do I need to replace it? What's it for?
  15. I put some LED's in the headlights... So I put those LED's in headlights, nobody has flashed me, they are bright white but they're not blinding bright. But I was wondering how do I adjust the headlights left/right up/down. I know there's a yellow hex screw on top of the headlight, but which way does that adjust? And Where's the other one? The headlight reflection seems to be perfect on the passenger side, but the drivers side is pointed off in a different direction.
