  1. Hi there, Not sure about the U.K. but here in S.A. Ford used a wheel nut that comes from Volvo on some of their stock Mags. It has a loose collar on the rim which engages on the wheel, increasing the grip area while retaining the nut size. Might be worth looking into.
  2. Greetings everyone, I have an issue with my charge/alternator light, it's gone disco on me!! It started while on a longish trip, the charge light came on while driving at around 120 kph, our national speed limit. with around 500 km on the road. Since then, the light flickers and goes dim, sometimes almost off, other times bright, accompanied by a relay chattering under the dash around the fuse box. Occasionally, before starting, the light is off, other times it is as normal. The alternator is charging, giving me 13.8v at idle, so I think it is ok. Please help with any suggestions as this is really irritating and I am concerned that it may damage my ECU or other electronics. Many thanks in advance Paul
  3. My name is Paul White, resident in Johannesburg, South Africa, proud(sometimes) owner of a 1999 Escort 1.8 Zetec, the latest in a long line of Fords, ranging from a 1969 Fairlane to my wife's current 2005 Fiesta diesel. As a technically minded individual, although not a qualified mechanic, I frequently find myself in a position of having to do my own repairs without the requisite knowledge or experience, hence my interest in the club, hoping to draw on the minds of those more proficient than myself, and perhaps add an insight or two of my own now and again. I look forward to a long and productive relationship with the club's members, may we all do as old Fords do, just go faster!!
