  1. Hi Neil, I know its smaller in the Kuga as I had a boot liner in the Edge and it does not fit. Just measured it and it's 850mm deep and 1000mm wide.Very similar to the Edge but one thing I had before in a Kuga was the intermittent wipers that are rain sensitive, something that I did not have in the Edge and I like them.
  2. Hi Neil, Thanks for the comments. It's gone now to hopefully a new home. It was a good one and never gave me really any bother, not sure but think it was better on fuel than the Kuga?
  3. Hi, have sold the Edge and bought a Kuga.Loved the Edge to drive but main issue is that I am losing £400 to £500 a month as they devalue hard and cannot sustain that
  4. Hi all, was really happy with the Edge in driving it was a dream as it was comfortable, powerful and safe. Only problem is that now it's no longer produced it's going to be harder to source parts, the alloys were becoming a real problem and starting to look like a spiders web.Main problem for me is that I am seeing it lose £400-£500 a month and this I cannot sustain so I have reluctantly had to sell the car. Picked up a year old Kuga two days ago and happy with that. So sorry to say this will be my last comment on this forum, wish everyone the best. I do however have a spare alloy wheel for sale at a good price of £80 (requires a small amount of refurb) and would prefer it on a collection basis for Central Scotland cheers
  5. Hi, sorry to have taken so long to reply but lots happening at home. Anyway car went back into local dealer and told them it was okay before it came in to rectify the fault and now lost the interior lights, sunroof etc.Anyway they took it in and it was returned the next day all fixed and told it was done under warranty(although that ran out previous week).Happy with the car now.
  6. Hi, This morning the car was a bit slow to start but saw the engine management light come up.Second try okay but no light? Anyway tonight I have found that the interior lights do not come on when a door is opened and the panel above the driver has pale lights on it but nothing operates? The panoramic comes off this but did not want to try and open it in case it stopped part way.Tomorrow is to be dry so will give it a go. Am I doing anything daft???
  7. Hi, my Edge is coming up to 3 years in early january and before I would book in for a service just before the warranty runs out to get anything done.I have presently 21400 miles on the clock and was told I don't need a service till 36000 miles.Any advice from anyone,I only do about 7000 miles pa now but want the car to be kept up to scratch.
  8. Cheers for that Jim,will keep in mind
  9. Hi, I fitted the Heko type and had no issues. Had a Volvo some time ago and just used the sticky pads to fit but with the Ford I used the clips as was clear the sticky pads were not enough.Make sure the clips are put in the correct way round. Wind the windows up and down several times till they "learn" to overcome the obstruction.May have to wobble the deflectors as well to assist then leave window shut to mould in shape, maybe better to do when it warms up or do you have a garage you can get in?
  10. Hi, yesterday after a run of about 15 miles I got home and stopped outside the house and there was a smell of burning rubber which seemed to be evident not outside but once I opened the rear drivers door, anyone any ideas? Have had this before but quite a while ago now.
  11. Tell me if I am wrong but my Ford fitted towbar is a 2000 kg limit, also I notice that my mpg halves when towing!
  12. Hi have found the problem. It was the dash cam drawing down the power.Never had a car before that did not switch off the power to the 12V sockets.Whilst it went in to Ford for a check I asked about the tailgate matter and they had a failure of a strut but thought my issues were unlikely so lots of bits were lubricated and had it back a week now and no issues with the tailgate at all plus have to just disconnect the dash cam every time I lave the car overnight outside the house
  13. I have been having the odd problem with the tailgate not opening and sometimes closing on its own. Read a forum from the US where they put it down to the main drive motor but also said it can be disabled then enabled to clear the issue. Anyway closed the tailgate the other night and reopened so slammed it shut as it just clicks. Tried to open yesterday but absolutely nothing Ford coming out in the morning thanks for the warning of the tailgate motor draining the battery as that seems to be what is happening so hope this will be resolved.
  14. Hi, Well,a couple of days ago out in the edge collecting some stuff and no issues.Had a few things to do at home plus use the wife's fiat if I needed it. Anyway yesterday morning was off to Falkirk so opened up the car as usual but Nothing! No beeps,no wing mirror movement, nothing! Went to local ford garage but they did not want to come out, as everything is in the car I had to get the ford number off them.Phoned ford who said AA we're on their way but instead a recovery truck from Falkirk arrived and was going to jump the battery but then was told I can't even get in.Not tried to open manually before but unable to get the bit off. Phoned local ford garage and they said "prise it off". Don't want to break it .Anyway called ford assist again so they are coming at 7am so will see how it goes. Not chuffed at all. Any advice gratefully taken. Read through the forum and saw one topic where it was still in the garage after five weeks so won't be chuffed if that happens.I have Andy Barratts email ready if all goes wrong!
