    New One Damage!!!!!!

Oh no, it's horrible when that happens and completely understand how you feel. The day I bought my Fiesta, I drove 170 miles home, then turned into the same car park I park in virtually everyday and scuffed the alloys on the pavement. I hadn't even had it 6 hours and already damaged it! I was not impressed! Put me in a mood for a while too! Hope you manage to get it sorted and that this doesn't put you off enjoying your new car!

    Car Locking Scam

I received this information in an e-mail this evening and thought it would be worth posting here to pass the message on. I'm not 100% sure if this is real or not as it does sound pretty extreme, but never-the-less possible so thought I'd re-post it just incase. It explains about a scam going around involving the cloning of car key signals and therefore being able to unlock your car using a cloned key. It certainly makes you think about what might be possible these days! 'How to Lock Your Car and Why' "I locked my car but as I walked away I heard my car door unlock I went back and locked my car again three times. I looked around and there were two guys sitting in a car in the fire lane next to the store. When I looked straight at them they did not unlock my car again. While traveling, my son stopped at a roadside park. He came out to his car less than 4-5 minutes later and found someone had gotten into his car, and stolen his cell phone, laptop computer, GPS navigator briefcase, you name it. He called the police and since there were no signs of his car being broken into. The police told him that there is a device that robbers are using now to clone your security code when you lock your doors on your car using your key-chain locking device. They sit a distance away and watch for their next victim. They know you are going inside of the store, restaurant, or bathroom and have a few minutes to steal and run. How to lock your car safely: The police officer said to manually lock your car door by hitting the lock button inside the car, that way if there is someone sitting in a parking lot watching for their next victim it will not be you. When you hit the lock button on your car upon exiting it does not send the security code, but if you walk away and use the door lock on your key chain, it sends the code through the airwaves where it can be stolen. Something totally new to us...and real. Be aware of this and please pass this note on. Look how many times we all lock our doors with our remote just to be sure we remembered to lock them and bingo someone has our code, and whatever was in the car can be stolen. Please share with everyone you know."

Recent Photo's Of My 2008 Fiesta Zetec S

No it's black. I did want the Sea Grey at first but ended up going for the black one, especially as it was such a good deal at the time.
  4. Thought I'd post some of the recent photos I have taken of my 2008, MK7 Fiesta Zetec-S. I spent a number of hours back in April giving the car a thorough detail - washed, clayed, polished, waxed and these were the results. Also some photos taken yesterday having just given it a quick clean. Hope you like!

My New Fiesta Mk7 Zetec S

I haven't seen that many red MK7s to be honest, but didn't realise you can't get them in Scotland? You'd think they would be as available as the rest of the UK? I have seen a second-hand one in Kirkaldy before, but I'm not sure where the reg was from. Nearly bought it but it was £2,000 more than my black on and had more miles on it at the time.

1997 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Ghia Owner!

haha, thanks! I took that back at the start of the year, but haven't really been on here much since. Have updated it now though!

1997 Ford Fiesta 1.25 Ghia Owner!

I know that feeling! Spent way too much on a car when I bought mine but had my heart set on the new style Fiesta at the time and found a reasonable deal for mine - it was a year old and had only 7,500 miles on it back in November, but eventually thought 'why not?'. Still love it, but must admit, I do prefer the dark blue as in your S1600 but at the time that wasn't an option. My last car was that colour and I think I prefer it to black.

Is It Just Me Or Is The Us Ford Fiesta Sedan Ugly ?

Think the Sedan looks similar to a Y-reg Focus Saloon in my opinion. It is probably practical over in America and for families, but personally, I prefer my Fiesta!

    Car Locking Scam

I remember that one too! I thought the same at the time. If nothing else it made me more cautious about leaving my car to remove anything left on the windscrean so I guess it had some benefits. Someone once stuck something on my windscreen so I made sure I removed the key before getting out to remove it! You see them on the Real Hustle too, some of those scams are quite elaborate and make you think!

    Car Locking Scam

Makes you wonder why people make things up like that! I usually hate chain-mail too, especially the really really rubbish ones like "something bad will happen if you do not pass this on etc etc".

    Car Locking Scam

Ahhh, that confirms my suspicion then. Did think it was a bit extreme but there's that element of doubt that it might have been true. Thought I'd pass it on just incase.... must've started out as an April fool's joke one year or something! Never mind! haha

    Passed My Driving Test

Oh! :o Here's me thinking you were an exceptional driver and passed first time, although I've never heard of anyone to get no minors before, bet there are some people somewhere.

    Passed My Driving Test

Well Done, bet you are well chuffed that you can now drive on your own and enjoy your car! That could mean two things haha - you passed first time without any minors, or, you failed your first test with a major!? Hope it was the first one, if so that's pretty good going! Think I had nine minors and passed first time. Passed the theory first time with 35/35 on the multiple choice question part, can't remember about the Hazard Perception but it's changed since I took my test.

    Show Us Your First Cars!

Is that a Triumph Spitfire? It looks as if it is - I recently drove 800 miles (round trip) so that a friend could collect one last month, except his looks in much better condition than that does at the moment! haha

    Show Us Your First Cars!

Thought I'd add to this post as well - seems to be quite a popular one! This is the first car I drove, although I was only about 15 at the time and Dad let my brother and I drive it in a dis-used airfield a few times. This photo was taken a few years later though, just before it went to the scrap yard! 1993 Nissan Micra, I then learnt to drive in my Dad's 1998, T-reg Mazda 323f Shiraz. This car no longer exists as well as we traded it in September using the scrappage deal. My first car was a Vauxhall Corsa Comfort (1 litre) which I got in 2006 for my 18th Birthday. 18 months later (January 2008), I upgraded it for a 2004 Vauxhall Corsa SXi Then, in November 2009, I replaced my Corsa with my MK7 Fiesta Zetec-S Up until about a month ago, I still had all 3 cars parked outside our house as my first car became my brother's and then my second car was sat in the drive over the Christmas period until I advertised it when the snow started to clear in February.

Ford Announce New Fiesta Sport +

I like the dark blue colour, but like mentioned above, it looks the same as any other Zetec-S, apart from the stipes, which I'm not sure about!

    Private Reg Plates

The number plate "ORG 45M" is available on RegTransfers for £150,000....think I'd rather buy a house with that money!!! haha! There is also an article on the same site about a guy who has "V14 GRA" on his number plate!

    Private Reg Plates

Did think it looked like the sweets but wondered if it meant something else!! Also like the way that your plate is a mirror image of each side! Quite cool - especially as each of the letters can still be read clearly in the mirror aswell! I think I'm slightly obsessed with personalised registrations especially since I have got two - one with my name and the other with my initials. There are some interesting combinations out there and I quite like working out what they mean or the stories behind them. Decent ones that are not mispaced and clearly spell a word/name etc are great but at the same time I quite agree that sometimes they can be a waste of money, especially as some go for thousands and thousands of pounds. If you can find a good one that suits you and for a reasonable price, then I don't see any harm in buying one as they should last for the duration of your driving years. They are becoming more and more popular as I a large number of cars I pass on the roads appear to have personalised registrations - the most common ones being initials as they tend to be cheaper. In my opinion, newer style registrations do not look as good as older prefix, suffix or dateless registrations, particularly as there are too many digits on the plate making it look too busy - I prefer ones with 5 or 6 rather than 7 leaving more space for it to stand out.

Hello from a new member and a new Fiesta!

Hello and welcome. Your car looks really good, I do like the black! I've also noticed the message about the door being open, but have put this down to it displaying the last message before you turn on or alter the stereo. I've checked the doors but notice I can be driving down the road with it saying that unless I've changed the track on the CD player or something - but if your door doesn't look like it's closed properly than this may be the reason!! Hope you enjoy your car, I can't wait until the warmer Spring & Summer months to enjoy it properly! Looking forward to seeing more photos from you!

Guide on how to remove the plastic foglght surrounds

I could have done with this thread a couple of weeks ago before changing my fog light surrounds from plastic ones to chrome ones. Did pretty much the same as you, raised the car, crawled underneath and unclipped them to remove. Not quite as easy as I had first though, but got there in the end!

Titanium vs Zetec S (driver ages)

I have a Zetec S and am 21 years old, wouldn't have been able to afford it if I wasn't still living at home though. Thought I might aswell indulge whilst I still could! :-) Definately worth it!

Awesome!!! Your car looks soo clean and shiny (well, I guess it would being brand new!!) haha. I considered getting a red one at one stage as I had a choice of three cars (black, red and sea grey) at the garage I got mine from - but I chose the cheapest! Bet you can't wait to get a proper drive in it! I would have loved to have learnt to drive in a car like that, I envy your pupils as I had lessons in a 1.2 Clio and Peugeot 206. There is a local driving school with a BMW as a training vehicle!! :-) Nice! Glad your car has finally arrived and you can enjoy it! :-)

    MK7 Modifications List

Here we go, small mod to get things rolling!! :-) 1) Modification name: Plastic Fog Light Surrounds to Chrome Foglights Surrounds 2) Pictures: See below for before and after photos 3) Price: I paid about £19 for each part so for a pair you are talking somewhere in the region of £35-38. (More expensive than I had first anticipated!!) 4) Website link or purchase information: I went to the local Ford dealership to order it from their parts department. 5) Fitting instructions: From behind (ie underneath the car), unclip the old plastic surround and remove. Clip in the chrome surrounds. Doesn't take very long, about 10-15 minutes Before: After: In my opinion, the chrome looks better than the old plastic ones, but I know this is an area where opinions are split.

I've got into that habit ever since I learnt to drive - always make sure I lock the car when going to get fuel, although I mostly go to a DriveThru petrol station anyway.

    Why park next to me?

We have recently got an independent car park management company in to monitor our car park and impose fines for illegal parking. Quite a few customers got caught out by parking in the wrong bays and then we've had the odd few who'd forgotten to display badges and also received fines!
