  1. Recently the left turn signal indicator light on the dashboard of my 2007 Ford Fiesta has been intermittently cutting out. Sometimes when I first start driving a car it works fine, but then after driving for a little while it ceases to light up when I indicate to turn left. Just to be clear it's not the actual indicator light on the external of the car, this seems to flash fine all the time. I can still hear it 'ticking' as I engage the turn signal. I'm wondering if this is a big enough fault to cause a fail on any part of my MOT? Or do they only need to check that the external indicator turn signal actually works? Also, has this happened anyone else, and if so is it easy to fix yourself?
  2. I was informed when I recently took my car for it's MOT that as of 16th Feb 2014 the regulations have changed regarding DPFs and Catalysts. Any car which is fitted with a Diesel Particulate Filter or Catalyst, as standard, when manufactured, must be fitted with said DPF and or Catalyst when tested. If it is not fitted with the required item(s) it will be deemed to have failed the MOT. I'm paraphrasing the official looking document my garage showed me. I think everyone should be aware of the change.

    Guide Prices

I have a 1.6 zetec ford focus (2001). It had its MOT today and failed on one thing. The exact wording is "offside suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint", The car is booked in to have this rectified on Wednesday but does anyone have any guide prices and how long it would take to do? Thanks

    Mk3 Fiesta - Can't Find Part

So recently I took my 1994 Mk3 Fiesta for its MOT, sad to say after years of keeping it immaculate it failed. One issue was the emissions, which can easily be fixed with some easy to find parts. Now this is where it gets harder, the second issue was that of my passenger side headlight being misaligned, on closer inspection I noticed this was due to the adjuster going missing, unfortunately no one (mechanics, ford breakers, parts shops) has been able to help me with this issue so I have turned to you, the might internet people to maybe track down how I could get this part! Thank you.

Will My Fiesta Pass It's Mot?

Hi all, My fiesta has it's MOT due soon and there are some points which are causing me worry. These things are: Broken Door Mirror (Near Side) - It's still attached to the car, wobbles around a little and the glass is smashed. You can't tilt the mirror because the motor is damaged, and this makes the mirror pretty much un-usable... (No picture) Damaged Bumper - It's very small damage... There is a crack in the bumper, but it leaves part of a metal bar slightly exposed (not sure if it's the chassis). See picture below... Broken Headlight Connectors - The headlights function perfectly, but the brackets or screws near the front bumper are snapped. See pictures So... does it have much chance of passing the MOT? Hopefully someone here will know the answer ;)

    Mot Failure Of My Baby

Hi all, I've had my 1997 Fiesta 1997 for a long time and has done me great, but has recently failed her MOT. Rear suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated. Anti-roll bar gas excessive play. Parking brake efficiency below requirements. Nearside rear position lamp not working. Nearside stop lamp not working. Things like the lights are simple, but the others, im not sure whether its work the repairs now? How much should i look at paying for these repairs inc labour as i have been quoted £300, and I think that is a bit steep. Thoughts? Any help will be much appriciated :)
