  1. Have put Recaro seats in my Zetec S facelift but the air bag light is on? I assume the wiring loom layout is different to my old seats? Have an MoT in two days so need to try and get it sorted. Anyone else ran into this problem? Any help would be grateful. Cheers (Im assuming orange and purple cables are the airbag and seatbelt cables. But not sure what slot they would plug into. As for the others actually in the loom (blue green and yellow) I have no idea?)
  2. Hi folks Over the last few weeks I've been reading lots of depressing stories about the curtain airbag recalls and the shoddy work being done by the dealers. Has anyone had any positive experiences with this job? I'm asking because mine is going in next week for the work... dun dun duh!!! I'm praying to the Evans Halshaw Garage God right now TC
  3. Hi everyone, I bought my first car last week, a 2004 ka. It had only done less than 15,000 miles and was in really good condition. However driving it home I realised that the speedometer wasn't working. The milometer still works and looking around on other forums it seems that this is down to the sensor. Some people have said the sensor is in the gearbox others say it's on top, but I can't seem to find it. Has anyone changed the sensor before and could give me some guidance? On another note, I bought leather seats from a sportka of similar age, does the basic ka have connectors/wiring and sensors for seat airbags so I can connect the new seats into it and have functioning seat airbags? Thanks - Gabby

    Curtain Airbag recall

Hi all, my first post, Ive had my Ford Edge Sport 5 months and love the car. Last week i got a letter from ford that my car has to have the curtain airbags replaced, now having worked in a body shop i knew this prob wont be straight forward as the roof lining and all side trims etc have to be removed. Now the car went into fords today for the work and it was immaculate when it went in and now i have black marks all over the roof lining, sun visors, side trims, broken clips on the side trims and cross threaded screws, I'm so disappointed as it doesn't even look like they have cleaned the car after. I detail cars for a living which makes it worse as I'm so particular about everything. Has anyone else had this recall on there edge. Allan

Hello wondering if anyone can help me! Ive changed the seats in my Ford Fiesta edge 11 plate, I've bought leather seats from a newer model there heated too but they don't connect to the wiring loom? Is there anything I can do because obviously the airbags/connector isn't connected? Or do I just need to put the old seats back in 😞 Thank you

    Rear airbag on 2010 Fiesta?

Hi all. I've been putting my 5-week-old baby in an Isofix car seat on the left rear seat of my 2010 Fiesta. I know that if you put a car seat in the front you need to disable the passenger airbag but didn't think this was necessary if they're in the rear seat. However, last week I noticed there's a small "Airbag" tag on the back of the front passenger seat, in front of the rear passenger and it's got me worried. Does the 2010 Fiesta have side-impact or rear airbags that I need to be concerned about? Thanks.
  8. Hello everyone! Does anyone know if there is some sort of Airbag simulator for the seat connector in the MK2 Focus? Because after I installed new bucketseats the airbag light is on. The original seats had airbags in them etc.
  9. Hi all, I have owned my 2010 Titanium Mondeo for a couple of years now and think it's a great car. About a year ago I adjusted the drivers seat in the car and the airbag warning light started to come on and on intermittently when starting the car. The situation stayed this way throughout the winter but then seemed to fix itself when the weather warmed up (from Spring etc.). However, the problem has now returned and the airbag light is now permanently on when i start the car up. I've looked as various solutions online but nothing has worked to this point. This seems to be a very common problem yet I have not found a solution. Obviously I will put it into a garage to see if they can diagnose what is going on but is there anyone that can help me? Kind regards Sean

    steering wheel and airbag

so as most of you know i changed my steering wheel since then its been bugging that the airbag light is on is there any way to like create a circuit so its not just staying on and that it still works? or am i better off just putting black electric tape round the it like the majority of the people Thanks in advance :)
  11. Where is the best place to get some seat covers tailored to individual cars? Also, I'm sure I don't, but just wanted to double check that my seats don't have air bags in them as I've heard some cars do. I've got a 2014 Fiesta Zetec S. Thanks!
  12. Hello My name is Roberta's I have a Ford Focus that has an airbag light on the dash , the light was there since I bought the car upon inspection i found that the passenger side airbag has been disconnected , The only problem is I can not find any loose connector that would be able to plug in to the airbag. Here as some pictures of some loose connections that I have managed to find in the same area as the air-bag ,but i have no clue if these belong to the airbag or not , if anyone has some valuable information please share , Thank you
  13. Hi all, I have a 2003 1.8 TDCI Focus hatchback. I was at a scrapyard recently a found a mk1 Focus ST with near mint leather seats, so I had to have them to replace the grey cloth ones in mine. I'm pretty sure these leather seats have a heating element in them. After replacing them, the airbag light is now on in the dash. Doing some research this looks like a common problem and it's hardly surprising as the seat connector is now not hooked up. The old seats didn't have airbags in the sides, so am I right in thinking the connector is for a sensor in the seat? I didn't actually test it but the connector from the floor and the one in the new seats look different. I assumed they wouldn't fit so I didn't try at the time. What are my options here? Does the airbag light mean the SRS components in the rest of the vehicle are affected? Will I need to get an auto-electrician to wire something across the loom to trick the car into thinking everything's OK? Or can I still hook the two connectors together somehow? I'm not really sure how it all works. I will try and take some photos soon to show the connectors on the seat and from the car floor. Thanks for reading. Edit: Had a quick glance and it looks like the new seats have the square loom whilst the one coming from the car is the rectangular one. If this is correct, how does this affect what I need to do?
  14. Hi all, I'm new to this I was wondering if I was going mad after replacing the ford cd 6000 stereo in my 2002 focus 1.8tdci only to have the airbag light come on??? Is there any way for this to happen as I wouldn't have thought the airbag would have anything to do with the car stereo loom, Is it a case of buying a new module and just fitting it, had it on a diagnostic scanner and the guy said that the problem was airbag module not turned on???? Btw I cannot find how to search forum topics so I'm not sure if this has been posted before, Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks
  15. I have a 1999 focus 1.8tddi 5 door and was wondering how I enable/disable the front airbag?
  16. Hi, I would like to know what is required to remove the airbag from the steering wheel on the mk2 ka? I need to fit a new indicator stalk. Help would be much appreciated.

    Airbag Light

Hello, I have one problem. 1-2 times a week airbag light is on but when stop engine its off (airbag light is not on always). Maybe someone knows what can be?
  18. hi, im fed up with this 2002 mk1 focus 1.6 16v The airbag dash light didn't illuminate at start up, so I removed instrument panel to check bulb surprise someone had removed it! I tried a bulb and holder that I new worked but it will not light at start up. I have had it on diagnostic software and it only throws up B2227 front impact sensor which I will replace if I can fix this dam light otherwise it will fail MOT. I have checked continuity through the bulb holder and the printed circuit board only immediately around the bulb and seems fine. The airbag light has never worked since I got it but I didn't realise when buying dispite it had mot 2 days earlier hmm that gotta be dodgy since brake hose nearly through due to rubbing and not even mentioned. Any help on airbag light would be help full or any pointers? otherwise I will have to hide my son in footwell with a torch during mot.
  19. Hi all I've been searching deep corners of the internet and have had no luck for this issue. 10 plate focus 1.6 zetec (100) I was driving along one day no problems and have had no problems at all before. dropped of my mate at his house and grabbed something out of my boot at the same time, then pulled off and about 20 yards later both the airbag and seatbelt warning light came on... over the next 2-4 days it was intermittent, then it became permanent for the last 2 weeks to date. When intermittent it sometimes was not on at all, other times it came on part way through the (short) journey, or it was on straight away and turning the engine off then back on didn't get rid of it. I did the ford built in diagnostics check I've borrowed one of my mates cheap as chips bluetooth OBD readerand found these codes:- ObdU1900 - CAN Communication Bus FaultU2023 Abnormal message from PCMFord onboard test:Dtc #01 D900 I tried to reset them but couldn't. the only other thing I have tried is disconnecting the battery for the car for about an hour or so (turning it off the on again idea) does anyone know what it could be? I would like to repair it myself (I'm great with repairing electronic side of things, it's part of my job). Cheers, Gee.
  20. I have a mk5 fiesta (2001) 1.25 ghia 5 door and the air bag light flashed once then went out, then flashed once again then went out again, then stayed on after 5 times of flashing I took it to a fords dealer and they hooked it up to a pc and it came back with a faulty clock spring. i ordered a new one;fitted it this evening, put it all back together again and this time a new air bag flash sequence appeared. this time it flashes 3 times then goes off, flashes 3 times then goes off and after 5 times of it doing this it stays on constantly i googled the flash sequence and this is what i found "Three flash cycle: Short to battery plus or ground in section of air bag squib circuit common to both driver and passenger air bag modules" I haven't got a passenger airbag, just seatbelt pre tensioners and drivers air bag. what does that quote mean? cheers bradley

    Flashing Airbag Light

Hi, I fitted some front leather seats from a 2001 Puma in my 1999 MK4 Fiesta, and when I put every thing back on, e.g. the battery and the airbag plug from the seat to the seat, I started the engine and the airbag light started flashing. does anyone know what's wrong with it thanks
  22. Hi all, I am new to the forums and new to fords with an expanding family I decided to buy a galaxy and felt I have made the right choice. With the new MoT rules now enforced I have an airbag light on the dash is there anything I can check before I send it in to a garage to get it checked over. Is it an expensive job? Hard job? Any advice would be awesome thanks all :)
