Hi all, I'm looking for advice from any of you whom have an Amazon Echo or Dot etc. I'm not purchasing for myself and I don't have one, I'll be purchasing one next week as a gift for my mother whom lives alone, She's 69 this year and although she doesn't have a smart phone, can't operate a computer and can't operate a tablet, She does have an internet connection in the home as part of her television subscription package, I though an Amazon Echo would be a good companion for setting reminders, asking questions without having to use a computer and perhaps get her a few bulbs for her birthday which Alexa could control. I have a few questions regarding the devices; I understand the Echo has a built in smart hub which can control compatible light bulbs and switches, Which makes me favour the Echo model, Questions: I will need to use a tablet or laptop in order to setup the device on to her wifi network, But will it work on its own after the initial setup? I suppose it needs to be linked with an Amazon account, so I'll need to setup an email address and Amazon account for her? Will the reminders work independently by just asking alexa to remind or Set alarm, Will music requests work without having to set up a playlist? I've watched a few YouTube videos of unboxing and stuff but nothing to say how it works independent of any other devices. Thanks for all potential information guys 👍
Hi all, Im sure we have all heard of aliexpress, Taobao and Alibaba, Which for those whom dont know are all Chinese auction websites linking English speaking customers directly with Chinese manufacturers, Its where eBay sellers buy all there stuff prior to uping the price and selling to us, All of these sites have become safe thanks to the creation of PayPal. Now I've come across an even better website called lightinthebox.com I mentioned it to Vicki and she says lots of people on Facebook are praising it saying they saved loads of money and the items arrive 100% I'm not on Facebook personally so i didn't know. I've found a few great deals which i will link separately to this thread but for this thread here's a link to the site: http://lightinthebox.com/index.php?main_page=mobile_advanced_search_result&inc_subcat=1&search_in_description=0&q=ford Here's ford VCM module with Software for 132.50GBP :o that's cheaper then getting ford to use there's twice :) http://lightinthebox.com/ford-vcm-ii-multi-language-diagnostic-tool_p1448790.html Stealth fit reverse camera 10.50GBP http://lightinthebox.com/rearview-camera-for-ford-edge-2012_p575925.html Other type for 15.08 http://lightinthebox.com/hd-wired-car-backup-parking-camera-for-ford-smax-mondeo-fiesta-waterproof-night-version_p1017793.html If your not over 5ft tall you can save a fortune on hotel expenses sleeping in the back of the car: http://lightinthebox.com/lebosh-mobile-bed-inflatable-bed-in-the-back-seat-mattress-inflatable-mattress-for-self-driving-tour-gray_p1957623.html Bought myself one of these fake stereo face plates looks much like the old 6000CD ford fitted to transits in the ninety's pretty cool the volume works the suction cup: http://lightinthebox.com/Dummy-Security-Face-Panel-for-Double-Din-Car-DVD-Player---Universal-Fit-SZC6401-_p177785.html Three times cheaper than eBay for that item,
