  1. Hi Guys, So i daftly tried to install a HID kit in my fiesta the other day. Simple install, just plug and play. Later noticed that the set wasn't CANBUS compatible which may have been the cause of flickering bulbs and my H7 Right side Dipped bulb blowing its fuse Constantly. I changed my bulbs back to stock ones and all work apart from the blown H7 bulb. Replaced the fuse and blew again. Inspected the Headlight unit for damaged wires but nothing. New bulb, still blows. Its eating fuses and becoming an expensive job but i just need my dipped light to work again. Any ideas?
  2. No interior lights work. 2013 Ford Focus SE Every time I put a fuse in for the interior lights it blows. So I assume there is a short somewhere. Before I go trying to find the short I wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue. If so was it a short? And where did you find the short if it was. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi, Looking for some help. I have inherited my late fathers Ford Fiesta 1.25 zebec 1998 s Reg (Mk4 I think). It has been stood for about 2 yeas however I have decided to give it the attention it deserves. It has 42k on the clock and is in mint condition. I had a non start issue however found it to be a blown 10 amp fuel pump fuse located under the bonnet. I replaced it and it started first turn of the key. I drove it home from where it was being stored and it didn't run well, a bit chugging. I removed the battery and charged it. Again non start and a blown fuse. I located a grommet under the rear seat and gave the top of the fuel pump a gentle tap and it started up. I left it running to get it warmed up properly as it felt damp inside. I stopped after about 1 hour of idle and it refused to start again literally straight again. I left it for a couple of days and retried it, it started with a little persuasion, however it doesn't idle brilliant, more so when the A/C compressor kicks in. I left it running for ages today and it now won't re start. has anyone had issues with fuel pumps failing. I am thinking it may just be a pressure issue. thanks in advance. Paul
  4. Hello All, My Sister has just blown the head gasket on her 2005 Fiesta....basically had a water leak and it ran dry and then the head gasket blew! The garage its at now reckons its a new engine job as water has got into the engine. They are quoting £2.5K to fix. The car is only worth £3K! Can anyone offer any advice? What are the chances that it needs a new engine? Is £2.5K a realistic price for new engine? Does anyone know of anyone in the bristol area they can supply / fit 2nd hand engines and if so what would be the rough cost estimate? Would it be a better idea just to sell the car as scrap / spares? if so how much would you get for it? Thanks, any help would be most apprechiated. Cheers Dave
  5. Hi all, I need some hard and fast facts please anything you can give me that is pertinent to the following: Situation: i)Car purchased via dealer week ago, turbo blows and is confirmed by AA. Independent inspection carried out and confirms turbo is blown and vehicle towed away. ii) Dealer is contacted and made aware that car is unfit to drive but offers to repair turbo using the garage of his choice and that has stated he is not obliged to offer any documentation of the repair on the turbo, which means I could technically be going backwards and forwards every week. Is this correct? Is he required by law to provide documentation of a repair of this nature? I will be seeking legal advice tomorrow and am fully aware of the 1974 act so realise that a warranty is not necessary, I have outlined this to the dealer, but is he required to provide documentation of the turbo repair? For instance the AA cover turbos for £5 a month extra, but surely they are not going to give a warranty on an un documented re-con turbo, for any kind of warranty I would imagine they need to see the level of work carried out? Regardless, from my point of view, I wish to see some account of the level of repair as it required towing! ASAP would be great,
